Gina - Will and Wyatt are just ADORABLE!!! I'm over the moon for you that they are finally home! Great work, momma! I just know those little faces put a huge smile on yours every day. Oh, and I don't think anyone expected me to make it to my induction date. Now it's 2 sleeps away!

Barbara - Hoping for cervical changes for you at your appt on Wed. If there are changes, have you considered having your membranes stripped? The last leg of pregnancy is the longest, most drawn out event of a woman's life... by far! It's the anticipation. Can't wait for Brooke's debut!

Amanda and Rio - Thanks ladies! You two are getting awfully close yourselves! It's gonna be fan-baby-tastic on this board really soon!

Rio - My middle name is Nicole, so I think it's a beautiful name and Giselle is the name of one of the most beautiful women in the world... So my vote is for either one of those names.

Leora - Great sono pic of the boys! Have you and DH come up with any names yet?? Have you considered Zantac or Prilosec for the heartburn. It's bound to get so much worse from here, and I'd hate to see you suffer. Momma's got to be comfy, too.

Anna - It's so good to hear little Paul is staying put! I know it's awful, but prune juice really worked for me when I got backed up from the Zofran. 8 oz glass, plugged my nose, drank the whole thing real fast and followed it with a few big bites of applesauce before unplugging my nose. I could barely taste it! Nothing else worked besides Phillips, which I guess I preferred the more natural approach. And, yes, I've had my heart set on a vaginal delivery. Both boys are vertex so my OB is all for it!

afm - I lost my mucus plug yesterday morning!!! DH is so cute, he was like "What does that MEAN???"  Then around 3 pm, I started having really strong contractions that were coming really close, about 6 in 30 minutes. L&D asked me to come in to get checked, but by the time I got there, they had slowed down... Once on the monitor, they were around 12 minutes apart and when they checked my cervix, it was still WAY up there and still at 2 cm. "Very early stages" of labor, so the on call OB said I could stay and try to walk them down, or go home. I opted to leave and go walking (if you can even call it that) which had some effect, but by bedtime, they died down again. SIGH. I guess my biggest concern is that our hospital's L&D has been SUPER packed for some reason, and I'm scared that when I call Tuesday morning, they are going to tell me there's no room for my induction. :(

I'm going to clean our bedroom and set up their bassinets, clean out my car (with some help, of course) and go walking again with my MIL to try to get these guys moving on their own. COME ON BABIES!!!!

OMG! I own a double stroller!

I got the most surprising phone call from my mother. She was out shopping (in Brooklyn, NY of all places) with my 19yo sister - and they found a 2010 Baby Jogger City Elite stroller (in green) for $400. They called me to see if I was interested. I had been interested in the City Mini, because I didn't see the reason to spend extra money on the fancier stroller, but if I can get the fancier one for the cheaper price. So.... they bought it! Gulp! Yup -- this is the same mother who is totally against buying ANYTHING before the baby is born. Apparently, finding something on a great sale is an exception (as is buying things used or inheriting things).

The big difference between the City Mini and the City Elite is the wheels. The Mini has 8 inch rubber wheels and the Elite has 12 inch air-filled wheels. That makes the Elite a bit heavier, but the ride much smoother.

I can't believe we've made a big purchase for these babies! Gah! It feels so real!

(I really hope I get to bring these babies home....)

Stephanie: OMG! You are so super close!!! I'm dying of envy! Come on babies!!!

I'm not sure that my doctor can strip my membranes... She can barley reach my cervix as Brooke's head has come so far down that my cervix is actual behind and above her head. I'll definitely ask about it though.

Leora of course you will bring those babies home! You are doing wonderfully and so are your sons. Yay for your mom making things so real and having so much faith in a safe delivery. I'm all for the bigger wheels, I think they make all the difference in a stroller. We really are interested in the "bob" stroller but waiting until things are closer as we have no place to store anything right now!

Is it going to be expensive to ship the stroller? You'll feel movements soon enough and believe me, once it starts it'll never slow down. I can't imagine having two restless boys in there jostling for position!

Wanted to also share - honey and milk helped with my heartburn at first... now I HAVE to take Galvescon (look up the ingredients and you should be able to find it there?) and Zantac. They are different meds so I can safely combine them. I have woke up choking on stomach acid... NOT cool.

annashope wrote:Good morning girls and Happy Fathers Day to all our wonderful husbands :)
Thank you so much for all your words of encouragement and I am still here and still pregnant :) 30 weeks 4 days...lol Procardia pretty much insures that I don't have contractions but I didn't have many anyways and I am constantly laying down so it feels like everything is stopped fr now but then again I can't check my cervix so who knows. I feel pretty optimistic and all of your encouragement really

Sonya how are you??? We worry when we don't hear from you

I am very glad that things are still going well and the contractions have stopped!! I can't imagine how boring it must be to have the minutes tick by when you are on bedrest. I am still working full time and the best part about it is that the days fly by. Each day you can keep things at bay is another day closer to a healthy, safe delivery - you can do this and it'll all be behind you before you know it!

Thanks for asking - you girls are all so amazingly chatty and keeping up with each other that I feel totally guilty not being more involved. Thing is, I am *as said before* still working full time and our house is in the final throes of a major (as in totally gutted) renovation.

The pregnancy is going textbook. My doctor said that I am literally his most healthy pregnancy patient. There has not been a single issue with myself or the baby except the normal aches and pains that come with being 39 and full of bouncing baby boy.

My husband, not sure if you remember, was called away to work but after being gone only four days got a much better offer right here at home and so he quit and came back. We are so happy he will make the birth!

hi all,

i just posted a new topic in the 'pregnant' area as i'm looking for help from those who are pg and already have a little one at home.. i hope any of you can take some time to relate/share/advise

sonya- glad things are going so well... i too, wish i could be more active on the board, but ugh,if you read my other thread, you may 'get' why i don't. lol.. how nice to be 'textbook' hey?

rio- i actually really like all three of those names, it'd be hard for me to choose too... i was having a hard time at first, then just took some time and trusted my heart and how i felt about the names..

leora! congrats on owning a double stroller.. awesome . and how nice your mom got it for you, i wonder if that gives you 'some permission' to sneak in a bit of your own shopping ;).... i'd go nuts if i couldn't shop for the baby!!

hi's to everyone else out there, like sonya, i find it so hard to keep up on here.. afm, i've been going a bit nuts. well. more than a bit. very hormonal, and the demands of everyday life while being pg are taking a real toll on me.. so i just keep trying to revisit how grateful i am to have an 'everyday life' with a family. i'm very blessed. i'm also human too though.. fingers crossed i get some easier times..
38 yrs. DOR, TTC since '04, recommended DE but didn't listen
3 IVF's & 1 FET: 1 cancellation, 1 m/c @ 12 wks, 1 chemical, 1 miracle boy & miracle 'natural' PG right now while waiting to cycle (WTF?)

Leora- Yea I normally hate Tums too but the Smoothie mixed berry kind are much better and don’t have the chalky taste that the others do. Im still going to look into the Viactiv though. I think it’s a great pic of the your two boys!! I wanted one of both but all she could do was one looking down at 2 heads…so it just looked like circles instead of babies. Good luck with the heartburn and hopefully it gets better. Woo hoo for getting a double stroller!!! Sounds like a deal to me so Im glad your mom wouldn’t pass it up.

Gina- Your boys are adorable. Im sooo glad they are doing well and are resting at home now. Keep posting pics so we can continue to awww over them.

Bliss- Love the new ticket pic!!! Your little bean seems to be doing great!! Glad we are reunited and can go through the trials and tribulations of pregnancy together.

Rio- I personally think Giselle is a cute name though Cecilia would be my #2 for sure. All of them are great though. Leaning more towards one or the other yet? Congrats on hitting 34 wks!!

Anna- Woo hoo for the Procardia working and some of the contractions going away. I have a good feeling that the bed rest and meds will help Paul stay in a few more weeks.

Stephanie- I thought about you all weekend wondering if Brady and Jaxon were here yet. Sorry to here you already have 2 stubborn boys but it sounds like they will be here very soon. I wouldn’t stress about L&D being full because Im thinking you will end up in active labor and they will have to take you. Cant wait to see pics of your little guys!!

Happy Bunny- Im sure you are beyond ready to see Brooke. I was hoping when I logged on today I saw a cute little pic of Brooke, but hopefully she will be here very soon. Even if your MD cant reach your cervix hopefully they can figure something out for you.

Sonya- Do you and DH already have a name for your baby boy? Glad to hear he will make it to the birth and that the house renovations are moving along. Youll be ready for that baby to be here in no time.

Smoon- Glad you could join us here. So sorry that you had to go through all that but hopefully it means you will have a very smooth and healthy pregnancy. Even though we didn’t opt to reduce we ended up losing one of our triplets between 9 and 10 weeks, and it was still devastating. I just kept telling myself that it would help make a healthier pregnancy. The wait between US stink but once you see your little one on that screen it makes it all worth it.

Ryann- How are you hanging in there on that bedrest? Hope all is going well with you Bella and Dylan.

Margi- Sorry that you are getting so bored on the bedrest. I thought 3 days of it was bad so I can only imagine how all these weeks have been for you. Hopefully you have been keeping busy while you can. The official anatomy scan is only 3 days away so at least you can officially look forward to that! My fingers are crossed that the SCH has completely gone away.

AFM- went to my regular OB on Friday for the not so exciting apt- pap smear, exam, blood work…etc. She said we didn’t have to listen to the babies since I had just seen them Wednesday but I insisted. They are both still chugging away with heartrates in the low 160s. She advised that I should gain between 35-45 lbs, while the MFM advised 45-50. What were the other twin moms advised to gain? Went all day Saturday without Zofran…and then threw up Sunday. Even though I keep trying I guess I will keep the Zofran going awhile longer before I try to go without it.

Quick question... Did anyone have any cramping with the Crinone suppositories? My pio ran out on Sat so my RE gave me 4 days worth of samples to use to finish up my Progesterone regimen, and Ive noticed alot of cramping since starting them. Is this the norm??

I went with a bunch of friends to IKEA today - they have so much cute baby stuff there! I would recommend checking it out.

They only carry one model of crib here, but I think I really really like! It's simple and basic, but I like that. Colors are bright blue, bright pink, bright green or white. I kinda like the bright blue!

Image http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10190212

They are a bit smaller than a regular crib (60x120cm instead of 52"x28") - but I like that, since we'll need two cribs and we have a smallish apartment. They also convert to toddler beds. They seem very sturdy. IKEA also sells matresses and sheets for this size crib. I think we'll get them! So exciting! My MIL wants to buy them when she goes to IKEA next month.... we'll see.

Dallas - I didn't use Crinone but I used Endometrin suppositories and they would make me a bit crampy, particularly right after inserting them. It made me nervous at first but then I found through these boards that that was pretty common. I did also have a bit of spotting at one point that they think was just my cervix being irritated by them.

Leora - Awww, cute crib and I agree, it's nice to see smaller ones for those of us that live in small apartments. And I love IKEA stuff, i just never thought to look to see if they had baby stuff, darn it!

Blair - Glad your OB appt was uneventful, we love uneventful around here! :D

Sonya - Glad to hear everything's been going beautifully with your pregnancy and I was so happy to read that DH will be home for the birth...PHEW!!!

Barbara & Stephanie - hope you're both progressing so we can be reading your birth stories really soon!

AFM, not much new. Went swimming again this morning which was delightful. Then I'll have my weekly NST, AFI check, & prenatal visit tomorrow morning. These weekly appointments seem to make the weeks go faster because I must say the last month otherwise really drags on.

Karen: Hope things smooth out soon for you...is there anyone that can lend you a hand? Nothing wrong with admitting you are human. We all are. Some days I get quite grouchy/teary stuck in bed...sounds like you have a lot on your plate, plus hormones. All totally natural. Try to do some things "just for you".

Sonya: So happy that all is going so smoothly and that DH is home. Yeah!

Leora: Love the pics! And love that you are getting so excited and that family is helping with that! :D We just had an IKEA open up near us a couple years ago and I love a lot of their stuff. That crib sounds perfect for you--and the blue is adorable! We are actually looking at one from Target because of the dark wood that would easily match in our bedroom--where we plan to start babies out (and the price is reasonable there as well!)

Blair: Sorry the m/s is still bad for you...hopefully will abate soon. My OB is fairly laid back regarding weight gain-he says I am "fine"--but I think he is more focused on hematoma than weight for now. Have you gotten the, "When you are expecting twins, etc..." book? They recommend 40-56....more if your BMI is below 20, less if it is above 25 pre-pregnancy. I am sorrowfully below the charted weight gain for my BMI/weeks gestation. :-( At 18 weeks, I should have gained--according to the book--between 18-27lbs thus far. I have actually started gaining, but so far I have only gained about 8lbs (half of that in the last week or so!!)The twin site I go to for assistance and questions says not to worry--if your OB isn't worried. But the book really makes it seems like the added weight--especially early on, can give the babies an advantage, so I understand and relate to your concern. They also say that there are lots of periods of rapid weight gain and then slower...it isn't always steady. I, say, do your best; try not to stress. Once you get past the m/s I am sure the weight will come on!

AFM: I goofed! My anatomy scan is for Wed, not Thursday! So only 2 more sleeps..and here is a belly shot...not the best photo..but me at 16 weeks...

Margi- My OB said the same thing- oh youre fine right now. We will start to worry about it more later on. I had that book expecting twins, triplets...etc and it scared me into thinking I needed to start packing on the lbs right away. According to the book I started out underweight which means I needed extra, and the IVF means your supposed to gain an extra 5 lbs. SO needless to say Im no where near where that book recommends I should be by now. As of now Im only up 2 lbs but you wouldnt know that by my belly because it looks like a lot more. I really do need to post a pic. Im ok with trying to gain whatever they tell me but it just seems weird that the book recommends so much more than the MDs I go to. You look great in the picture and I love looking at all the US pics!! Do you all have names picked out for those two?

Amanda- Im so jealous that you went swimming this morning. The high here in KY today is 90 and I would much rather be at a pool than sitting at my desk at work. Good luck at the appt tomorrow!!

Leora- I like the crib! Have you found some bedding that coordinates with it yet?
