Twinnie scan

Post by Tracey S »

Hello all

Thank you for all your kind wishes - should be used to it by now but am always touched so thanks!

Scan fine - was knackered as had only just got back from hospital last night to have a tour round which then kept me awake all night mulling over pain relief etc! Then was sick this morning as so tired and then had my slippers on in the car not my shoes so had to go back............

Then he said the babies had not grown as much as normal - ie they were always bigger than norm but all ok - so got in someone else to scan - by this time they were being right minxes and hopping all over the place that even the best scanners were finding it hard to distinguish between the right arms and legs and heads etc as so close together! One is breach still - the one on the right who is Alice and the other is head down and is Emily! The new figures came back and were fine - the consultant reckoned they are around 4.5lb and 5lb a piece and even if they were born today (please england win the footie and save me) they would be fine and probably hardly need SCBU but if next week then probably not at all - phew what a relief! I have a scan in two weeks time but placenta seems fine and plenty of fluid around the babies and blood pressure fine and blood tests fine and urine............. not even an hint of iron deficiency!

So all looming closer..................
Love to all
Tracey

Hey Trace,

Sorry you're so knackered, but it's great the babes were fine. Great weights too, and they're right about neo-natal if they were born now. Remember, Sam was only 4lb 7oz when he came and he was only kept in just over 2 weeks - until he learnt to breastfeed...

Take it easy now. It's soooooooooooo exciting!!!!! :o :o

Hello my friend

I am sooooo pleased that your scan went well and that the girls are doing fine. Made me laugh about your slippers though - Honestly!!!!

Alice and Emily are such pretty names - I can't wait to meet them when they make their debut arrival.

You must feel so relieved that they won't need SCBU - Phew.

If the footie gets exciting tonight you might pop 'em out

Take care Tracey, I can't believe it's so close now, so exciting. You really deserve this my friend, you are an inspiration to us all.

Love and hugs

Great news about your scan Tracey, not long and you will able to see your little girls for real.
try not to worry about the birth, I had a terrible labour with Dan, but it's all a distant memory and I am still here to tell the tale!
Once you are cuddling Alice and Emily you will simply be overwhelmed that they are here...
Will be thinking of you

much love

Great news, Tracey and lovely to hear how well Emily (I WANT THAT NAME!) and Alice are doing.

You're certainly on the home strait now. Here's hoping that Alice and Emily stay put at least until England win Euro 2004!

Hello everyone

Thank you for the kind messages as usual - you are all so lovely!

Honestly the FOOTIE - we were robbed - just managed to get through it but was woken after one hours sleep by the most excrutiating period pain - just unbearable. It then travelled to my right side and felt like someone was trying to rip my leg off. I can only assume it was Alice sitting on a nerve but this went on for 3 hours and I only got thro it by deep breathing. Then finally it went and I nearly choked several times on acid bile so had to sit upright. No sleep then got downstairs this am and Gabbie has chewed up my £50 sandles so not happy and she is in the dog house - still took her for a walk though but had to sit down half way round

Will keep you all posted and thanks again for the lovely messages. Just need to see if Tim Henman gets thro now

tracey just wanted to add my bit, and say glad scan went well, the girls
both sound good weights, it must be very tiring not getting much
sleep (they are just getting u in practice), i find it very difficult getting
comfortable at night and thats just with one little one.
As for england last night............what can i say we were robbed.
