Weight gain worries ladies: While I'm having one baby and some of you are having two, I had some weight gain concerns during my pregnancy. I gained only 14lbs the entire pregnancy. I spoke with my OB in detail about it because books and websites gave me the impression that I should have gained more. My mom only gained 13lbs and I was almost 9lbs so maybe it's genetic.

My OB continually said that there were more important things than weight gain: My blood sugar, my blood pressure, fetal test results and what I was actually eating. I discussed the quantities and frequency of what I eat with my OB and she said that I am eating right. All testing shows that Brooke and I are both very healthy despite the less than expected weight gain.

Please don't let those books worry you like they did me... Ask your OB about your health and your baby's health, don't worry about the scale says.

Happy Bunny - how are you feeling, did you try the sex induced labor yet?

Blair - so glad everything is going so well for you now. I am so happy to be your bump buddy after our cycle together. I used to take the tums you mentioned but decided not to becuase of the color additives they put in, I decided to minimize the red 40 and other stuff because there is a slight chance of autism link, again nothing proven... I can't decide on any name yet.... :(

Margi Gorgeous dress, and gorgeous baby bump - thanks so much for sharing!!!!! Your babies are just precious!

Amanda - so jealous! I want to go swimming too!

Leora - cute crib! You WILL bring those boys home! Don't doubt that, you will be a great mom and DH a great dad!

karen - hang in there, I will check your other post!

Sonya - yeay! for Dh getting a job at home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad you are having a boring pregnancy because we know you have so much on your plate!

Stephanie How are you? Are the boys here yet?

SD trying How have you been? I have been meaning to ask about your niece, how is she? How are you feeling?

Thank you so much for the baby name input, just still having a hard time deciding, I like the 3 names because they are written the same and translate so well into Portuguese which is my native language, I don't want something that will be butchered! Very happy about being 34 weeks and I am more relaxed about my contractions, I am not too worried now unless they come in too frequently. I can't sleep much anymore and everything hurts :( I am tired and emotional........ Hope everyone had a good father's day! Oh my other question is sex, we haven't done it in forever and I feel terrible for DH. But I am so exhausted by the end of the day and cranky that I fall asleep (our DS takes 3 hour naps at daycare, they won't wake him up so at home he sleeps at 10pm or later :( cause he is just not tired. I work all day so no naps for me, my lunch hour is spent going home and letting the dogs out and cleaning the house. When DH comes home he has so many projects in the house that I watch DS and the two furry toddlers, I am just tired and sore so even if I wanted to do something nice for him, I am so overwhelmed by the end of the day that I pass out. I feel like such a terrible cranky wife!!!!

Rio....34 weeks is a great milestone! Congrats! Don't feel too bad about the sex....DH has been deprived as well. I actually feel really bad because we have been married for 18 months and we started with our RE right after the wedding. There were so many times we were told we weren't allowed to have sex during the course of trying to get pregnant, and now that we are I just don't have the energy! He's a trooper though! I absolutely love Cecilia and Giselle, I wouldn't be able to choose between the two!

Margi....GREAT pics! I just love looking back at the 3d pics we had done. Our were at 16 weeks as well! Your bump looks great! How are you holding up on bedrest? I'm starting to get reeeeaallllyyyy cranky!

Amanda...I have an appt next week and then I start my weekly appts. I am so excited because I think that will definitely make the time go by quicker! Plus I get to get out of the house for a bit too :)

Leora..Congrats on the stroller, and SUPER cute crib! DH and I bought out stroller really early too because we couldn't pass up the deaL! I think we spent about $400 on it and it's a $699 stroller. Brand new too! I bet you could find some super cute bedding to go with that blue of the crib too! My sister and my nephew are awesome, thanks for asking :)

Blair...I'm really starting to get antsy on bedrest. I am so darn uncomfortable and now that my nephew is here I am bummed that I can't drive myself over to my sisters, hold him standing up, all the things I feel like I should be able to do! It's getting very frustrating! That's awesome that you made it even one day without Zofran. Small victories are wort celebrating! Dylan and Bella are doing great though-still sticking body parts out my sides to remind me that they are there!

Sonya...That's so great that you're DH was able to get a job right by home! No more worries now lady, you just get that baby here safe and sound!!!

Stephanie....It's getting so close now! My induction date will be August 1, so I hope I can be just like you and make it there! Keep us updated best you can!

Gina...The boys look absolutely perfect! Thanks for sharing! And the thanks for the advice on the wipes!

AFM...My nephew arrived at 1:40 on Thursday the 16th and is 8lbs 2oz of pure perfection! I just love him! I'm posting a pic below. He is the spitting image of my sister and my dad!

Saw my OB on Friday and he said that normally the coccyx (sp??) goes straight or curves inward and mine appears to be pushed outward. Nothing I can due but deal with it. Oh well. We also had an ultrasound...Dylan is measuring in at 3lbs 9oz and Bella is 3lbs 11oz. We have 1 more us on July 8 for a final weight check to report to the hospital. I will be induced on August 1 (37 weeks exactly) if they haven't come before then.

Here is my 31 week bump from this morning:

Hi ladies. Long time for me since updating and checking in. It's been a bit crazy for me. This past weekend I spend in L&D with PTL (cramps and contractions) but fortunately now I am back home and still pregnant. Taking procardia and just have to rest. I'm so thankful things calmed down! Tomorrow I'll be 34 weeks, so if things kick back up, atleast my baby girl will be ok in the long run. But I'm still eyeing my c-section date at 38 weeks!

Annashope- I understand the stress and worry with a changing cervix. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Karen - So glad to hear things calmed down! Looks like all 3 of us TAC ladies are now on Procardia. And you & I went in to L&D at almost the same time (I was in L&D from 33w5d-34 weeks.) Glad you're home now though so just stay rested and hydrated. I've bought myself another 3 weeks already with the procardia & modified bedrest and we're shooting for our c-section at 39 weeks. Again, I'm really happy to see you check in and hear that your baby girl is staying put a little bit longer.

So so busy with the move and school, but just wanted to drop by quickly and say I'm thinking about you all. Glad to hear everyone's pregnancies are going well and the scare has come and gone for some of you. Keep baking those babies in your tummies a little while longer! Soon enough, I'll be hearing some birth stories and I'm so excited for that!

Ryann - What an adorable little nephew you have!! Congrats!!!! My sister just had her baby exactly a week before your sister and he's oh-so-precious! Sadly, he had swallowed meconium and was kept in the ICU for 3-4 days, but now he's at home and I'm trying to make the most of my time with him before we move to TX (in just another 9 days!! AAAH!!! :()

AFM - Last OB appt this Thursday in California. Need to start looking for a good OB in TX now. How often do I need to be monitored from here on out? Still every 4 weeks? I'm so lost with this whole move and the new phase in my life. Baby shower this Sunday! I got myself a pretty "little" pink dress for the event! Too bad I packed away my only pair of black tights already, so I need to purchase another one. I really do not like shopping for clothes and did not want to walk from one store to another, so the first store I entered (Forever 21), I picked out a dress that I would normally wear, but I don't think it's appropriate enough for a pregnant woman to wear (a couple inches above knees) so I do need to wear a pair of tights underneath so I do not feel self-conscious all day.

Stephanie - GOOD LUCK today with your induction (if you hadn't already started on your own.) Great job keeping them baking for this long, with twins that's just amazing mama! We'll be thinking of you and can't wait to see pics of Brady and Jaxon!

Ryann - I LOVE the latest bump pic!! Soooo cute! And your nephew is adorable! YAY for switching to weekly appointments, woo-hoo!! You must be so excited to have an induction date now.

Ashley - My appointments were every 4 weeks until I hit 32 weeks. Then it switched to every 2 weeks and then weekly after I had PTL at ~34 weeks.

Margi - I LOVE your bump pic and OMG those 3d u/s pics are fabulous!! What little cuties you've got in there. You're doing an awesome job getting through that bedrest for your little ones.

Rio - I've hit the cranky wife stage. Between the plentiful contractions and the feeling that someone took a sledgehammer to my pelvic bone, I'm just a grump. And as for the sex question, between the TAC surgery and my husband being nervous and then our PTL at 34 weeks, I can literally count on one hand the number of times we've done the deed during this pregnancy so I know what you mean. We take care of business in other ways, but believe me, we're both looking forward to having a normal sex life again. I hope you can have some "me" time over the coming weeks!

Stephanie- Cant wait to see pics of Brady and Jaxon once they arrive. Im hoping you went into labor on your own and they are already here. If not wishing you good luck with the induction- you did great and I cant believe you made it this far.

Ryann- You have such a cute bump!! Sounds like the babies are growing and still doing great, so hopefully they hold off awhile longer so that they can come home with you once they get here. Your new nephew is absolutely adorable. That’s such a cute photo!

Rio- I hadn’t heard anything about the link between red-40 and autism from my MD or husband. I guess Ill have to look into that. Mygoal is to just take the vitamins every day…but there are some days like last night where I just cant bring myself to do it because I feel so sick before I take them (and I know it will be worse after). I think Ive only missed a handful throughout the pregnancy but I still feel bad every time. DH convinced me last night that its worse for me to take them and throw up than to just skip one night. Hopefully you and DH can get some alone time over the next few weeks to reconnect. Im glad we could be reunited on the pregnancy side after our cycling together. PS I love that sling. I had been looking online but didn’t know if a twin sling was even available. I am def going to have to order one of those so thanks for the heads up.

Happy Bunny- Thanks for the weight gain input. I know a lot of people who don’t gain much but then go to have healthy babies. I think its just the book that had me scared into thinking I would have sick babies unless I put on 60+ lbs. Hoping Brooke decided to make her appearance!!! If not less than 24 hours for you.

Karenthescorpio- Glad to hear that things have calmed down for you since the Procardia and rest. Hopefully baby girl stays in there awhile longer.

Ashley- I cant believe the move to TX is happening so quickly- so im sure it feels like time has flown by for you. Its exciting that you get to have your baby shower soon though. Then youll have even more stuff to pack up. Youll have to post pics after your shower.

Omigosh... I am sooo far behind!

Ryann -- Adorable nephew! Soon you'll be holding you're little miracles too. What does it mean for you that your coccyx is turned outward? Are you in pain?

Stephanie -- Good luck today hun! I cannot wait for your update with first pics.

KarenScorpio -- I'm sooo glad you got those contractions under control and baby Gemma is staying in a while longer.

Bunny -- Any news?

Margi -- Awesome awesome pics of your babies! I think I'm going to schedule me a 3D u/s!

Amanda -- Yay for shooting for 39 weeks! Glad your contractions are under control as well.

HopeisallIhave -- Hope you have a great baby shower and get moved and settled in Texas. What a stressful time for you! Take care of yourself too.

Rio -- I'm going to vote for Cecilia of the three names you've chosen. I have a friend from HS who is Cecelia. Not a crackhead...lol... she's actually a successful lawyer and an all round great person. :D

AFM -- I've been reading but really have nothing to report. I"m just sooo busy right now with work. Little Chloé has been active and sometimes it looks like my stomach is doing "the wave". I'm having a bit of sciatic pain, probably from my herniated discs that I had pre-pregnancy. There are times when I can't walk or bend but I'm still trying to hit the gym and play tennis as much as possible. Spin class tonight... woo hoo! I'm excited for that. My next appt is 6/29. I'm going to ask for a permission slip to schedule a private 3D/4D ultrasound.

Ryann: Sorry you are getting cranky...yea, bed rest is no picnic that is for sure! I try to make sure that I switch things up and do lots of different things each day to try to chase away the boredom. That little nephew of yours is ADORABLE. Oh, my goodness.

Anna: Has DS left for week at the beach? I am sure he will have a wonderful time...which will be good for his start of summer. I hear you on the achey effects of bed rest. Sending you a PM.

Stephanie: TODAY IS THE DAY!! I am so excited for you...sending you lots of positive energy for a smooth delivery...can’t wait to hear all about it and see pictures of your darlings!!

Amanda: Hope all went well with your appt today! 37 weeks...woohoo...

Lou: Sorry to hear about your sciatic pain...doesn’t sound pleasant at all. Hope that you are able to find/get some relief. And I would recommend getting a 3D/4D...it really is amazing. We are so lucky that our OB got one so we will get lots of those sessions--they just have to flick the switch and it goes from regular u/s to 3D.

Blair: We have some “likely” names, but are keeping it a secret. ;-)

Barbara: Thanks for the reassurance about the weight gain. That book really lays it on heavy making you feel like your babies aren’t going to make it to term, will have low birth weight and all other issues if we haven’t gained 24lbs by 20 weeks! I think I will really just relax a bit...as you said, there are a lot of other factors more critical...and thus far my babies are on schedule/ahead of schedule as far as their own size.

Rio: You are a wonderful wife and mother...it is just a difficult time in a wonderful journey. Don’t be too hard on yourself--you have a lot on your plate and it is normal that it will take its toll. And regarding sex? Um...DH and I haven’t been able to since...February because of 2ww + wait until u/s and then hematoma. Your DH is a wonderful guy--I am sure he understands.

KarenS: Sorry to hear you’ve spent some time in L&D, but glad all worked out and the Procardia is working well for you....not long now...

Kelley/kjm: Glad that your trip went well!

Ashley: I am sure the dress looks adorable on you!! Flaunt it and have fun at your shower! ;-)

AFM: Not much new...still little to no bleeding (yeah!) and feeling my little "mangos" move is really so exciting!! My Level II anatomy scan is tomorrow with MFM. I'm a little nervous, only because of hematoma. Then I have appt with OB to discuss where things are with the hematoma...let's hope it is gone...gone...gone....or at least significantly shrunk!

Stephanie - we are all cheering for you and cannot wait to meet your boys! Best of luck for a great delivery!

Margi Yeay for feeling your mangoes move!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting! Fingers crossed for the hematoma to be GONE!

Blair - http://newsanchormom.blogspot.com/2008/ ... d-dye.html I normally do not believe everything I google and you also cannot escape all food coloring or bad additives or pesticides in food unless you spent all your time and energy on a really clean diet. But I do try to eat organic when I can and cut out that stuff when possible. Diapers.com has those slings in different sizes and you can get $10 off on your first order. Sorry you still have such bad MS :(

Lou - so glad everything is going well, sorry for some of the pains and aches but par for the course! My US tech warned me that you can pay a bunch of money and becuase the baby is bigger, there is less fluid around her for good 4D/3D pics so to be careful not to throw $$ away. After about 18 weeks, I have had medical 3D US and they could not get a good pic of her becuase of her position and lack of fluid surrounding (my fluid level is adequate it was just that there is more baby and less room for other stuff later!) so you might be better off going earlier than later!

Amanda I am glad I am not the only one depriving DH here!!!! Or the only cranky one ;) thanks!

Karen scorpio good to hear from you, hitting the 34 mark is great! But you will make it to 38!

Hope every 2 weeks after 32 weeks, good luck with the move! And post pics of you in your pink dress!

kjm - welcome back!

Ryann - love the super cute bump pic and your nephew is adooooorable! Sorry it must be hard for you to be on bedrest and not go see your sister but soon enough you guys will be running after those little ones together!

Lou - Kudos to you for continuing with all of the exercising. The mere thought of spin class makes me exhausted LOL. :D

Margi - Good luck tomorrow!! I loved the anatomy scan. It lasted so long and it's just amazing to see all of the different bones, organ systems, measurements, etc.

AFM, my appt went well today, though I somehow gained 3.4 pounds in one week!! Not sure how that happened but I guess I shouldn't be too surprised since I'm starting to puff up a little more now. Hoping it's primarily water weight. Doc called over to the hospital while I was there to have them get me on the schedule for 7/7 so it's official. Now just waiting to hear what time to report that day. I'll have my LAST prenatal visit/NST next Thursday 6/30 and then my c-section will be the following Thursday. I can't believe I only have one more doctor's appointment left, woo-hoo!!!
