Hi ladies. I'm going to have my FET next tuesday. My very first embryo transfer of any kind. Praying it works. During my visits earlier this year to my endocrinologist to get checked for thyroid issues, I learned that I have thyroid antibodies. I'm concerned about this causing a miscarriage. I have to take Medrol starting tomororw, along with my antibiotic and progesterone. But should I also take baby aspirin? Have any of you had an issue with thyroid antibodies. Mine antibody count was low. Heard baby aspirin helps with blood clot prevention in the uterus.

Hi Karen - I don't know about thryroid conditions, but at my clinic, they put just about everyone on baby aspirin. My RE says it never hurts, and it might help (improving blood flow and preventing clotting). I take one a day (81mg).

I have sub-clinical hypo (TSH 4.0). In fact my endocrinologist said I was not hypo, but my RE said I'm borderline and put me on a small dose of Synthyroid. They want your TSH to be 2.5 or less. Regarding my antibodies, the RE said that they noticed on my endocrinology work-up that it showed I was positive for thryoid antibodies. I wish I knew more. I have read over the course of these months on the web (dangerous I know) that thyroid antibodies are often checked when one has recurrent miscarriages. I just hate to put our money into this process and my thryoid antibodies not be taken into consideration. I'm assuming that they would put me on heparin if I needed it. I'm just worried and heard baby aspirin could help with blood flow/clot prevention in the uterus. But my RE didn't prescribe it. I think I'll just have to ask them directly about it. ugh.

I have Hoshimoto Thyroiditis - an autoimmune disease that caused my thryiod to go both hyper/hypo. My Endo switched me from Tapazole to PTU due to my upcoming FET in July.
My RE sent me for blood work to check for anitbodies and came back negative. If I had antibodies, my RE said he would have perscribed a blood thinner. But I dont have to go that route.
My RE perscribed baby asprins along with my other meds for FET. I guess its best to check with your RE to see if you should take baby asprin.
i am also on synthroid. after my first pregnancy i've developed thyroid antibodies which damaged my thyroid and now i have to take synthroid. but those antibodies only attack thyroid - nothing else - so i never had to do anything specific during fet except the usual medrol and aspirin
