Experience with Club Foot?

I am currently 6 months pregnant with twins...a boy and a girl. Up until now everything has been going perfect. At my last appointment my MFM said there appears to be a problem with the little girl's foot. He said it was twisted and he believes she has what is called club foot. My first reaction was to cry after all we have been through, but I realize after two rounds of IVF how blessed we are and now I need to educate myself. Any information or experiences that anyone can share would be appreciated.

My favorite baseball player, Freddy Sanchez, had a club foot as a baby . . . with surgery and braces, he was able to excel in baseball and now he's one of the top second basemen in professional baseball . . . I had a friend who's son had a club foot . . . he had surgery and braces and now we can't even tell that he had a club foot . . . Good luck =)

Deftonesmo ~ I appreciate you taking the time to share this information with me. I have done lots of research this weekend and I feel I now understand it better. It is defintely a sign a relief to see that it is treatable and that it is not painful for the infant. This was a major concern for me as I want to do everything to protect my little ones.

A friend of mine adopted her son from the same country my daughter is from and he had a club foot. I believe he was 6 months when he came home, and the surgery was done by the age of two (not sure exactly when). He will have to see a specialist once a year to check on growth, but he's totally fine.

Congrats on your twins! Mine are almost 8 months now and doing awesome. This is my favorite baby age

Thanks Babyluv. I appreciate hearing what you know. I am so excited about having these babies... I just want to make sure I am doing everything possible to have happy, healthy twins. The pregnancy is going so quickly, but I can't imagine them actually being here yet. I can't wait to meet my little ones, but not too soon.

I am also happy to hear how well your 8 month old twins are doing. I look forward to each moment I have with mine.
