Tracey, thanks so much, it's good to know I'm not just being too pinickity...!
Anyway, things got worse when I phoned the hospital about the private midwives and guess what: they have not started that service yet! So, the only option I have is go for private obstetrician-led care! They're sending me details about that in the post. If that sounds positive I might compare that with some NCT classes - only heard good things about them and apparently they do not only provide labour-preparation, but also help throughout pregnancy - does anyone know more about them? I know I'm far too early for actual birth prep but some midwife-like contact might be useful?????

Bina - read your post earlier and couldnt reply - I have no idea how you didn't punch her - Imean WHAT does she thinks shes on about. What is wronfg with these people- won't say anymore -suffice it to say iagree with everything you and tracey have already said. Defo check out the ob option - I can't help as know NOTHING yet - not even what hospital I'm in! Leaving it all until after nuchal scan. But good luck - and I'm sure the best option will just suddenly become incredibly obvious. Fingers crossed - dont stress at all about it though.

Sorry about all these midwife probs - my friend had the NCT and thought it good but they did bang on a bit about natural this and that and birth balls and aromatherapy so beware!

Gem, SEX, oh my. What is that? It is DH birthday today, I was planning a romantic meal and if I feel game I might have dessert too!! Although I am only 7w4days the nurse said it would be ok but if I bled then not to try for a while until things settle down. Thats a bit scary though. Maybe we won't have dessert. Oh I'm so confused...

bina, i was so shocked to hear about your visit to the midwife, she
has no right to give her opinions on IVF, speak to your doctors and
see if there another midwife u could see as u are not happy with
your present one.
I find it strange what she said about excercise, i was told to take
it easy upto 12 wks (which sounds logical) and then gentle excercise
after that. I am now 29 wks and still playing golf, i checked with
the midwife on tue if it was ok to continue and she said as long
as u are not twisting u will be ok. Im sure keeping fit has helped
me with a very healthy pregnancy.
Re the NCT classes, dont leave it too late if u want to join the group
classes as they do get booked up which happened to me, i was quite
upset as i have recently moved and do not know many people in
the area and thought it would be a good way to meet new mums to be,

Hi everyone,
Hope that you are all ok. Well we had another scan this morning & thankfully everything is fine. I am 7 weeks now & we saw a nice little heartbeat. We also got 2 photos which are amazing. The consultant told me I could stop taking the pessaries now as it was a straight forward IVF cycle & everything was fine. Have others stopped taking the pessaries this early? We are very happy now & I think I will relax a bit more.
I did ask about stabbing pains that I've had in my sides, she said maybe the ovary was a bit swollen or just my womb accomadating & growing for baby.
Also just wanted to say thank you to all of you who keep me going through everything.
Well looking forward to the weekend now & may indulge in some desert myself this weekend, as I feel so good if you know what I mean!!!

Sounds like you have all been keeping busy - in more ways than one!! Congrats to those who had 2 or 3 courses recently!
Bina - your midwife should be shot. I would write and complain if I were you. She showed no sensitivity at all. I can't help with the NCT. I only went to a group after having my daughter. They were a bit right on for me - very pro natural births and breastfeeding and as I did neither, we didn't have much in common.
Went to do my booking in last Wednesday only to find they had made my appointment on the wrong day. I was very cross and flounced out slamming the door. Going back again this Wednesday.
Very very tired now. Hope you all are too. Slept badly on Thursday night, for which I blame the footie, then had to go to a surprise 40th on Friday night. It was great to see the birthday girl's face - she had no idea but I was very tired and felt dreadful on Saturday. We had DP's kids for the weekend and my son had a friend over so there were 5 to entertain in the rain on Saturday and I had no energy at all.
DP very kindly took them all swimming. I have a very unattractive rash on my thighs from applying fake tan with latex gloves so I am banned from swimming! So not the best weekend.
Also can't stop crying. Can cry at anything - Holby City, the tennis, stories in the paper. Anyone else weepy?
Tried on my bikinis in preparation for our holiday - yuk. The top half is obscene. Trying to find a cheap one that doean't make me look like a beached whale with veiny boobs!!!

I'm getting fatter by the day I'm going to have to be careful and try not to eat crap I'v made the mistake of buying some scales and I've put over half a stone on-OH MY GOD!!!! please tell me other people are putting weight on.
We cant wait for weds when we've got oue 1st anti-natal appoitment at our local hosp and our next scan cant wait to see peanut again.
I've been really tired all weekend I went ti bed at 9pm on sat to watch bb as dh was watching footy and I ended up staying there til sun morning fell asleep after bb and yesterday I could have gone to bed at 9pm but was at his mums and dads so couldnt,the last few mornings I have felt sickly but it eases when I have something to eat that might be another reason why I'm putting weight on quick but hoepfully is everything is ok on weds I'm going to start swimming I'l have to book my bikini wax in first!!!
