Goodness! This board can move soooooo quickly at times... so much has happened in such a small period of time!
Leora - I, too, was shocked at the news of your boys arriving already. I read Margi's post numerous times to make sure I was clear on the fact they had been born, all the while in tears repeating "Oh no" over and over. I can't imagine what you and DH are going through, it just doesn't seem fair that this happened to you guys. You and your brand new family are in my prayers and thoughts. Please take care of yourself and those sweet baby boys. (((HUGS)))
Rio - CONGRATS MOMMA!!! I can't wait to see pics and hear which name your sweet munchkin will be called. Has your son met her yet? I bet he'll be a great big brother!
Kaylie - I wanted to chime in about the breastfeeding... First of all, KUDOS to you for making it this long! I hate how often making an effort gets overlooked by breastfeeding snobs. The first few weeks are not only the most important but the most difficult. So to turn their noses up at a mom for not nursing until the cows come home (pun intended!) is just absurd to me. It's SOOOOOO much better than not breastfeeding at all.
I breastfed my older two children as well and it's definitely one of those things that lasts as long as you can sanely manage it. My daughter tore me up with her latching on, so 4 weeks was it. My son was a lot better at latching on and at the time I had a job that allowed for pumping, so he nursed for 4 months. I couldn't bring myself to continue once he started teething, OUCH!
Jaxon and Brady will be finishing up by the end of the first week of August (6 weeks) and I'm okay with that. I know I'll cry once I'm completely finished, I always do. But we do what we have to do. The constant pumping is reeking havoc on my poor nipples and it's not easy getting 20 minutes every 4 hours to sit and fill a couple of bottles with boob juice with two newborns. I'm actually starting to wean myself officially today. It'll take a couple weeks (to prevent infection) since I'm producing so much, but I'm definitely looking forward to longer sleeps at night and a friggin' MARGARITA!
