FrecklesDC wrote:THANKS SO MUCH!!! This advice definitely helps!!! There's just so much out there that is so negative towards doing anything other than breastfeeding. I truly appreciate your advice.
One other bonus I noticed once I switched to formula is she slept through the night after a couple days of formula (six to seven hours)! So my sleepless nights ended rather abruptly after that!!!

Goodness! This board can move soooooo quickly at times... so much has happened in such a small period of time!

Leora - I, too, was shocked at the news of your boys arriving already. I read Margi's post numerous times to make sure I was clear on the fact they had been born, all the while in tears repeating "Oh no" over and over. I can't imagine what you and DH are going through, it just doesn't seem fair that this happened to you guys. You and your brand new family are in my prayers and thoughts. Please take care of yourself and those sweet baby boys. (((HUGS)))

Rio - CONGRATS MOMMA!!! I can't wait to see pics and hear which name your sweet munchkin will be called. Has your son met her yet? I bet he'll be a great big brother!

Kaylie - I wanted to chime in about the breastfeeding... First of all, KUDOS to you for making it this long! I hate how often making an effort gets overlooked by breastfeeding snobs. The first few weeks are not only the most important but the most difficult. So to turn their noses up at a mom for not nursing until the cows come home (pun intended!) is just absurd to me. It's SOOOOOO much better than not breastfeeding at all.

I breastfed my older two children as well and it's definitely one of those things that lasts as long as you can sanely manage it. My daughter tore me up with her latching on, so 4 weeks was it. My son was a lot better at latching on and at the time I had a job that allowed for pumping, so he nursed for 4 months. I couldn't bring myself to continue once he started teething, OUCH!

Jaxon and Brady will be finishing up by the end of the first week of August (6 weeks) and I'm okay with that. I know I'll cry once I'm completely finished, I always do. But we do what we have to do. The constant pumping is reeking havoc on my poor nipples and it's not easy getting 20 minutes every 4 hours to sit and fill a couple of bottles with boob juice with two newborns. I'm actually starting to wean myself officially today. It'll take a couple weeks (to prevent infection) since I'm producing so much, but I'm definitely looking forward to longer sleeps at night and a friggin' MARGARITA!

Rio- congratulations!!! So happy your little princess made it safely into the world and that you are doing well. Take care of yourself! And you crack me up...giving advice on panties right after delivering your baby. You are the BEST and really do a good job of taking care of us girls. :-)

Leora- Continuing to pray for you and your boys. We miss you!

Short post just to update, just got to spend 10min with her. She even latched on and bfed like it was nothing, I could not believe how well she did (it was a challenge with ds). She is so sweet and precious, she is now off O2 but still on iv and antibiotics so she can't stay with me in the room but I will get to see her every 3 hours. I spent all day waiting for this having seen her for 1min. I feel super beat up and lots of pain but oh so worth it! Ds met her and was very sweet! She looks like dh, cute since ds looks like me! Thank u for all your support and good thoughts!

Karen - Gemma is absolutely adorable! I love the kissy face picture. Sooooo cute!!!

Rio - What wonderful news about your little angel! And nursing like a champ already?? WOW! That's amazing!

afm - Funny story... My sweet little monkey, Jaxon, was born with a head full of dark hair. Over the last couple of days, it's receded and he has a horseshoe! He looks like a teeny tiny old man!  I know it's normal, but it's the most balding I've seen by any of my kids. I read that his hair could be a completely different color and texture when it grows back in.

Rio - I am so happy for you. I am glad you bath are well and wish you both speedy recoveries so you can spend more time together. I am so happy for you. What name did you decide on?

Leora - I was so saddened to hear about you today. My heart is just broken but I will continue to pray and wish for the best for you, David and your boys. Please know that we are all supporting you and the boys the best we can we our thoughts and prayers. I know the boys will grow and get stronger with each day.

Karen - Darling pict of Gemma.

Stephanie - you have to post a pic of your tiny old man - sounds so cute!!

Lou - SO CUTE!!!

I know I have missed many of you. It has been another busy week and things just fly by. I had a very nice shower with the in-laws in IN. One of my DH cousins has 5 yo b/g twins so I enjoyed talking to her and getting advice. The weekend was tiring and I could not believe how much harder that 4 hour trip was on me. It was actually more restful going back to work on Mon. My 4D US went well. I will get some pics posted soon. The little girl (Ella) was shy and it didn't help that Hunter's head was overlapping hers. Hunter wouldn't stop moving and mostly looked like a jumble of limbs! They are both head down for now!! I see the OB on Tue for another US and growth check.
