Twins measuring differently... Ghost and others

Hello Ghost and all!!

Have a small questions.

How excited should I -we get about twins if one is measuring 3 days behind but w perfect heartbeat ??

Were 6 w 1 days and one is on target and the other 5w 4 days...

When I had my first ultrasound at about 7 weeks, we were told that twin A was measuring perfectly and that we should be "cautiously optimistic" about twin B because he measured small. Both had great heartbeats. At our next ultrasound a week later both twins were doing well but B was still smaller. He stayed smaller my whole pregnancy and was born a whole pound lighter. "B" stayed longer in the NICU (they were 34 weekers). Now at 14 months old I have two beautiful healthy boys and "A" is 22lbs and "B" is 25lbs!

So should you get excited? I would! I think in this crazy IVF land we should be excited whenever possible!! Good luck to you and keep us updated on your twins!

Oh and FYI, I don't think ghost hangs out over on this side.

My first US of the twins showed twin B measuring 3 days behind, but strong HB, the next week he was a day behind and ever since then A and B have been the same size. I was told the same thing at the first US - to be cautious but hopeful. Believe in that little one growing and have faith!! Good luck!

Looks like you and I are very close to the same dates. I had my 1st us this morning and Baby A measured right at 6weeks with 114hb, Baby b measured 5weeks and 6days and hb 108. RE was very please and said things are right where they should be. Now to wait another 2 weeks before 2nd u/s..

Hello!! I've been away from the boards for a little while, but I'm still here!

momwanttobe - congratulations!!! so happy for you!! glad both little ones are measuring right on track!!! my RE is still saying he's not very optimistic... but I'm hoping my tiny one is going to show him wrong and be big and strong tomorrow on the US we're having... hope to be able to share a twin pg with you for the next 30 something weeks… ☺

Thanks to SD, kjm1824, deftonesmo, and dillysgirl for your answers! We go back tomorrow to find out how things are going… I’ve been trying to send my twins all the PMA I can to try to help them grow happy and healthy… will let you know!

Hello ladies...
Just an update...
Went for another US and baby B had stopped growing at 7w4d... No hb...
Baby A is 8w2d with a good HB...
Needless to say we're devastated for baby B but happy for baby A...
Hoping A keeps going strong...
