Definitely DO NOT freak if you don't hear a HB...sometimes it can take until 7 weeks to see/hear one. At 5w6d we saw one sac and yolk and no HB. OB wanted us to wait until after 7 weeks for 2nd u/s, but I pushed and begged for 6w4d...we at that point saw 2 sacs and heard 2 HB's. He really said a day or two or three can make a big difference (if we had gone at 6w2d we might not have heard the HBs.) So--hope you see sac and yolk...that would be great. Tell yourself that HB would just be extra icing--but do not fret if you aren't able to hear it. Hang in there....get some good rest tonight.

It's TWINS!!!! Baby A is measuring exactly 6 weeks with hb 114, Baby B is measuring 5wks 6 days and hb of 108. We went ahead and told my mom and we are telling DH's family Sunday. We aren't ready to tell anyone else just yet. Please say a prayer for me and the twins that all will go smooth and I can carry these littles ones for as long as possible. We have been trying for 7 years and hope this will be our double miracle.

I've been silently "stalking" you & praying for good news for you! Twins is amazing...truly a double miracle! Positive thoughts that all will be good w/ you & the babies! Good luck!
Congratulations!!! You can do this....I will be happy to assist/mentor in any way possible. You had asked about how each month went--I had morning sickness for the first few months, but not as horribly as some of the women on here. I was able to manage without any prescription meds, but some women have it extra fierce with twins since hormone levels are higher. Do you have an OB? MFM? Feel free to send me a PM (personal message) and I will be happy to answer any and all questions!!!
Congratulations again!!

Thanks everyone... I am still in a state of shock....
Marji - you are so going to regret saying that... I am going to be PMing you all the time. My biggest concern right now is to stay healthy and bring these two into the world healthy... I have had no morning sickness yet. I had read where lots of women get constipated from the PIO but I've had no issue with that at all. I also read where I need to be drinking more water which I don't really like but will do whatever I need to do.
Any suggestions on books to read? I have my 2nd ultrasound in 2 weeks and my ob/gyn will be doing the history thing and also extra blood work. He knows I have not been released from RE yet but he wants to go ahead and get a jump on things. I have been using him for GYN for almost 23 years so he was really happy for us. The lady that did my ultrasound this morning did my first ultrasound when he tried iui almost 7 years ago.
Told my mom on the way home from u/s appointment and she is ready to go shopping. I told her to please wait, we are only 6 weeks we have a long road ahead of us....

Congrats!!!
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
The current resource that everyone seems to recommend is "When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads" by Dr. Barbara Luke. It has a lot of good information, but I will warn you now it does have some unrealistic weight gain recommendations.
It is wonderful that you have a great OB that you have a long-term relationship with. Having an OB you can fully trust is really important, especially with a twins situation (in my opinion.) You will also likely need to find a Maternal Fetal Medicine practice to be linked with as well. You (and me both!) have the double whammy of being "advanced maternal age" (I hate that phrase!!!) and mothers-to-be of multiples. They are able to follow you in more depth. I am seeing both my OB and the MFM perinatologist on a regular basis. I am happy doing it that way.
I hope that all goes smoothly for you.
I will send you a PM with other information. Again, congrats!!!! And so glad your family is so excited as well!!
