Success only with Fresh?

Post by maryevelyn98 »

I just had my second chemical pregnancy from my second FET. My first fresh IVF resulted in DD, and I am considering another fresh cycle, but of course I am concerned it won't work.

Are there any stories of women who have only had success from fresh cycles and not frozen cycles?

many more women have had success only from FETs and never from fresh cycles (because in a FET, your hormone levels are much lower and your endometrial lining is better). I'm one of the odd balls who has only had BFPs in fresh cycles and never in FETs. My doctors say it's just 'luck'..... I have one frostie and really want to do a fresh cycle instead of a FET (we'll see what my insurance allows - usually they only allow FET if there are any frozen embryos). But overall - 3 fresh = BFP and 3 FET = BFN -- but that's probably just coincidence. (I have a 50% pregnancy rate per embryo transferred -- of 10 embryos transferred in those 6 cycles, 5 have become pregnancies and 4 were healthy babies - who were just born too soon).
8 IVF+6 FET=6 BFN+8 BFP =

-b/g twins 22w (12.09)
-mc 10w (9.10)
-Micha (7.19-24.11) & Asaf (7.19-28.11) born at 24w
-mc 5wk (2.12)
-no HB at 18w (10.12)
-BO (4.13)-
-mc 6wk (9.13)

last attempt - donor sperm - baby girl born healthy July 2014

Thank you both. It is so hard to find stories of women who had failed FETs but successful fresh cycles. At this point I need all the support I can find since this will be our last attempt.

Hi,

I got pregnant and had my first baby through my first Fresh. Had a failed 1st FET then a sucessful 2nd FET which I pray will lead to a full term baby.
From what my RE has told me, chances with FET are less since the quality of the embryo often diminishes as it is "deftrosted". I have read similar data on the web also indicating a fresh is a better bet than a Frozen. As you can see though, I got pregnant through both of those. The quality of the embies in both cases is very important.
Hope this helps and best of luck to you.
