Ghost & Other, your opinion about miscarriage and next cycle

Post by WeHaveHope »

Ghost,
I would appreciate yout opinion on my situation. My DH and I have been TTC for almost 9 years. Hr had pretty severe MF an I have PCOS. Over a year ago we had an uncessusful IUI followed by a cancelled fresh cycle due to OHSS. At this time we froze 10 blasts. After that we did our first FET with AH this May wih inr 3CC blast and unfortunately ot a BFN. Last month we did our second FET with AH. We transfered 2 beutiful lookong 3BB blasts and 4 days post transfer I we got a BFPon a HPT. I tested everyday and got a BFP on the HPT unt Beta day on day 9 post transfer. The Beta 275 on day 9 post transfer and then rose to 1513 13dpt. My aprogesterone level was 7.16 using Crinone. I had been a bit concerned about this but when i valled my RE's office he told me not to worry because the vagunal prigesterone is absorbed directly unto the endometrium and not picked up in the bloodwork. Two days after this strong Beta I began to experience mild cramping and lower back pain. When I went to the bathroom I wa bleeding bright red blood. Called my RE right away and I went home early from work. When I got home I continues with the cramping and lower back pain and went to the bathroom again. The bleeding had become a bit heavier and then I expelled what looked like two blood clots. After this the pain subsided and the bleeding stopes within two to three hours. I have had bleeding since and my Bets went from 1513 to 1228 and then to 721. Obviosly at this point neither the RE or I think that this is a viable pregnancy. Initialy my RE thought I had micartied one but I sm convinced a this point it was both. The thought is that I had two blasts that implanted a nd that I miscarried both at 4 week/5days. How could this happen?

My question is, is there anything that we should consider doing different next cycle?
What could have occurred and what is anything can we do yo prevent this from happening again?

Most of these losses are due to nonviable embryos. Genetic anomalies (aneuploidy) are often found when the expelled embryos are tested. But not always.

There have been several comparisons of Crinone versus other forms, and they seem to be pretty comparable in effectiveness, so I tend to think it was not your Crinone that was to blame. However, it might put your mind at ease to try something else next time, like the old reliable PIO. Up to you and your RE, of course. But PIO can become painful after awhile.

If you wish, they can genetically test embryos before transfer. If you have more frozen blasts and you want them tested, this may be problematic depending on your clinic. You'll have to ask your RE what they can do with a frozen blast. Clinics vary.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage. We went through three of them before finally having our little miracle boy. It was so hard, but I can honestly say it was all worth it in the end. I hope your next cycle is the one!!
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!
