Cycling In 2012 Board (formerly Fall/Winter 2011-2012)

Dear friends,
I have just started this board in order to be able to begin moving on. I just had a MC last week and felt like the world was closing in around. After a failed IUI, a canceled fresh IVF cycle due to OHSS, a BFN, and a BFN with my 1st FET I realy thought this was it. On July 20th we transferred two beutif looking blasts. And to my surprise, I got a positive with a HPT only 4 days after my transfer. My 1st Beta was 275 and the 2nd Beta 1513. Two days after that Beta I began to bleed heavily and I knew in my heart that I had lost both of my little ones. Since then the Beta has fallen sharply an today it was just 428. I am officially at the end of this road and off of all of my meds.

This may be the end of this road but not the end of my journey. This journey can be very difficult and cruel at times. But I will not give up in my dream. If you are looking for a board where you will receive the love and support of ladies who are on the same emotional rollercoaster than this is the board to join. If you are looking for a board where you can share your stories with others and provide support to others in need then this is the board to join. If the Fall of 2011 is your time for a miracle then join this board.

Thank you for starting this thread. It seems I belong here as well. As I posted in our old thread, I am devasted to hear your news. But your attitude is inspiring. I feel in my heart it will happen for us both.

AFM. Ordered the meds today for our new donor. She is due to start them next week. At retreival time we will do a 5 day biopsy and freeze the embryos. Once we have the results of those tests we will make plans for transfer. Everything is still up in the air right now. We are delayed by a couple of weeks, as our previous donor had an unexpected pregnancy that was found when she went to my RE for ultrasound in preperation for starting a cycle for us. This will be our 3rd different donor attempt. Praying we good good results this time. Have been disappointed up to know with the number of viable embryos we have had to work with.

I am following you on over ! You have such an awesome attitude and outlook. It definitely helps to keep me motivated We have to pick up and move on and not dwell on the past cycle - I was trying to analyze my cycle to death and realized it does not matter, it is all in God's hands. I hope and pray that this will be our cycle.

Becca - I am so sorry that you are in our boat, but know that you are in good company. Three different donors, that has to be difficult! May God grant you a successful and smooth cycle.

Fvrogers and Becca-I am so happy to have some familiar friends in this board. Have faith, this will be our time. This is the 1st time I have ever done something like this but I guess in life there is a first time for everything. This was all I could do to move on and focus on my next cycle. We will continue to make this journey together and support each other a's we have in the past. I am so glad you joined. Please update me with your expected cycle dates so I can attempt to update the board.

Hi all I am a little new here, but I have been lurking around a couple months. Thank you "WE" for starting this thread, I too will be cycling in early November and it will be nice to share thoughts and words of wisdom with others because the one thing I have noticed on these boards is there is lots of wisdom and caring.

A little about me, I am 41, will be turning 42 in October, PCOS, have 3 daughters aged 20, 18 and 13. I had to use clomid to conceive my first and last child, second was a "surprise". After our last was born my husband got a vasectomy as we thought we would just keep having girls. Sometimes you think your done, then realize your not and you want another child. Technology has improved so much that we decided we want to try for a boy. We currently live in Germany and are traveling to Cyprus to have IVF, since sex selection is not allowed here. They will be doing Microsort on my husband's sperm to increase the chances of male embryos, along with PGD testing.

All the information out there is a bit over whelming and I find myself stressing over this. With my age I know my chances decrease. I don't know how often it works for women the first time around as I see many on here have gone through several cycles. My insurance only covers 90% of my medications and nothing else, so are completely out of pocket for most expenses.

I look forward to hearing others stories while we experience this journey.

Some of us here have been through some very difficult time together but have not given up hope and our faith is stronger than ever that our dreams will come true. Miracles do happen, all you ave to do is read some of the success stories on the Pregnant after IVf Board. Thank you for sharing a little about yourself. I look forward to getting to know you better. Dear friends,
I hope everyone is doing well today. I am glad to see that our group of friend is growing. I realy thought it was going to take a very long time and that I would be the onlyone in this board for a while.

AFM-I officially stopped all meds yesterday. No more estrogen patches and no more progesterone suppositories. I definantely was not expecting the symptoms I had lastnight. Physically, it was a pretty rough night for me. I had pretty severe cramping. I literally felt like everything inside was going to come out. I woke up feeling a bit better but definantely having side effects from the decreasing hormone levels. I spoke to my RE yesterday and that plan is to start BCP a's soon as AF comes. He thinks that maybe this week buy we will have to wait and see. I will continue to have my Beta Hcg levels drawn every week until it goes back to zero. The abdominal pain I was having several days ago has subsided but I am now dealing with the hormonal changes and pain and discomfort from that.

I was stalking the "Summer 2011" board to follow some people I've cycled with before (in fall and winter 2010-2011). I was expecting twin boys in Oct/Nov -- but my beautiful sons were born too soon at exactly 24 weeks in July. Sadly, they did not make it out of the NICU. Micha lived for 5 days and Asaf lived for 9 days.

I had a C-section, so some doctors are recommending waiting a long time to get pregnant again (a year or 6 months). My OB said we could try again as soon as 3-4 months post-C-section. We meet with the RE on Sept 6 to discuss our options. We have one frozen embryo - I would prefer to do a new fresh cycle, but our insurance usually only covers FETs if there are frozen embryos ---- so we'll see which we are doing.

Also - I've now had 2 extremely preterm deliveries (boy/girl twins at 22 weeks in Dec '09 and now my sons at 24 weeks). I'm investigating what could be causing these preterm deliveries and how to prevent them. My current OB (who I'm not too happy with) says that we should do nothing, 'wait & see' and I should be able to carry a singleton to term safely..... I'm looking for a second opinion. Several women and expert doctors have suggested maybe cervical incompetence is causing my early deliveries. I'm researching different types of cerclages (stitch in the cervix to prevent preterm dilation) ---- I have an appt with another expert next week to see what he has to say.

So it appears that I will be doing some type of cycle (fresh or FET) or some type of treatment in Fall 2011. I was expecting to be a brand new mommy to twin boys in fall 2011 -- but that has fallen through....

These boards are such a place of support and love. Sometimes I feel that some of my cycle buddies from here are the only people in the world who understand what we are going through.
