Cycling In 2012 Board (formerly Fall/Winter 2011-2012)

Ok ladies, I think AF is officially here!!! But I am not 100% sure. Since my MC was only last Wednesday, I am not sure if it is truly AF or some other type of bleeding but I am pretty confidant it is AF. On Monday when. Spike to my RE he was confidant that once I stopped the Crinone and the Vivelle Patches that AF would visit by Wednesday or Thursadat. I swear I think he is fortune teller. I don't know how he nails these dates down to the exact date but he does. Mow if he could nail down and tell us dick cycle is going to give us a happy healthy baby or tw o that would be fantastic. But I'm sure I'm asking for way to much, or am I??? Well, I will call him today a's he instructed. The idea is if this in fact is AF then he will have me go unto the office and do b/w and u/s a's usual to start an FET cycle and start me on BCP. We are doing it tjis way so that we dont miss the opportunity to begin suppression. Any otherway we would be taking a chance and almost guaranteeing a missed cycle and then this wiuld push us back to November. The only caveat to all this is that I will still need to wait for my Hch levels to drop to zero so I must remain on BCP until then. That may take a little longer than we would like but there is not much we can do. However I am pretty confidant and hopeful that if my falling Hcg levels last week are a blueprint for how they will continue to fall then we may not be waiting to long. Last week the levels were dropping dramatically.

So my dear friends, please pray that this is truly AF and nothing else. And please pray that my Hcg level continues to fall quickie so we can begin this cycle soon. I will let you guys know what my RE says when I speak to him this morning. Feeling pretty optimistic about this cycle. God, please let this be the one. Sending you all lots of love.

Isn't it crazy how we want AF to come during certain times in this process. Having PCOS I had very irregular periods my entire life, one of the reason's I was not ovulating years ago when I was trying to get pregnant. After the first of the year I knew that I would be taking this journey this year and made an effort to get healthier and when I did that my periods became regular, just a bit long about every 33 days. I started on birth control 2 months ago so I can narrow down a date and the first month I started I bled the entire month (had not been on bcp for a long time), the second month like a big dummy I popped a pill out and it hit the floor and went under the fridge, yep no getting it without pulling out the entire fridge, so last month I was short one pill at the end of the cycle (couldn't get an accurate date on how many days past pills I start bleeding). So hoping this month (if I don't lose anymore pills under the fridge) I can get my dates down more accurate.

I normally start between 2-3 days after I finish my pills, but since I am traveling for treatment I need to know exactly. I have a couple more months to figure if its 2 or 3 days. I will start meds here and then travel on day 7 of my cycle. When did your doctor have you start stimming, on what day of your cycle? They want me to start on day 3 of my cycle.

Tamera-I am actualy doing my 3rd frozen embryo cycle this time so it is very different from a fresh cycle. You are doing a fresh cycle, correct? If so, I can try an look at my old papers from my fresh cycle and see if I van get some information that may help you. The fresh cclw is so much more involved tha honestly it is all a blur. Mine ended ip being canceled due to OHSS and we ended up waiting for a Frozen cycle.

AFM-update, I have an appointment tomorrow with my RE for b/w and to begin BCP. I'm sure they will check my Hcg levels again to see where we are. If I had any doubts this morning if this was AF or not I am convinced it is. And apparently this month is going to be very rough. Lots of cramping. But I must endure to reach my dream. Not giving up.

Thanks "We" for the advice, yes its a fresh cycle so I have been reading on what to expect and how my body might react to the meds. I hope AF isn't too rough on you, but glad to see you get to move forward to what the future will bring. I sure hope I don't get OHSS, that would leave my embryos in Cyprus and me back in Germany .

Tamera-I completely understand your concern. OHSS is not something to take lightly. There have been ladies on this board who have ended up in the hospital for weeks. So, it is vital to speak to your RE about your concerns and to work very closely with your RE on recognizing the signs and symptoms of OHSS before you actualy get it. Monitoring your Estrogen level is curtail. Like my RE said, reading the tea leaves is very important. We knee I was at wrist for OHSS a week and a half before my ER. So meds were adjusted and some changed to minimize the chances of getting full blown OHSS. We knew going into ER that we were going to have to freeze. It was just too dangerous to transfer at the point because pregnancy actualy worsens the symptoms. I know lots to think about. Just remember to have a realy good back and forth communication with your RE and you'll do just fine.

Hi everyone, I am new to this board and to ivf. Myself and husband have just recently found out that we will have to undergo IVF due to a severe male problem we have been married and trying for 2 years. We have decided to use donor sperm and are due to start our cycle in early September. I am trying to keep really positive especially for my husband but sometimes it is hard when literally everyone around us has babies or are expecting !!

Does anyone have any advice on how to maximise our chances of the ivf working ?? our doctors have been good but they really havent provided us with many do's and dont's

Toniaa-when I first found out that we would need IVF I was pretty lost as well. Someone on one of the boards recomended a site and it was very helpful. I hope it helps you makesense of IVF, I know it can be very confusing. Best of luck.

toniaa - Welcome! Have you considered trying IUI with donor sperm first if you don't have any issues yourself? Could save you some big $$$. Just a thought obviously not knowing much about your story. We were considering IUI with donor sperm this time, but success rates are much higher with the IVF study we've enrolled in so we decided to jump on board that instead.

WeHaveHope - you're lucky, it took me 3 months to get AF after my MC! I was ready to try again right away too.

Day 1 of BCPs for me today. So funny to be taking birth control in anticipation of getting pregnant.

Kerpupples-congrats for starting on BCP. This is one step closer to that Fall BFP!!! I'm not sure if it's because it wad an FET that is was much more predictable with regards to AF buy my RE said that once I stopped all meds on Monday that I would have AF on Thursday and he was right in target. Now I wish he could tell me when my tune will cone to be able to bring home a baby or two. In anycase, I will see him tomorrow for b/w and hopefuly start BCP tomorrow. So I'm not too far behind you guys and hopefuly all the other ladies will be following soon.

Hi Kerpupples/wehavehope - yes all of my tests have come back fine so it really only is a male factor with us. We did consider IUI but the success rate obviously is not as high and at the moment we can afford to go straight to ivf so that is the route we have chosen ! Thank you for the link to the website. I started on the birth control pill last weekend and found it strange aswell considering we are trying to get pregnant !!
Kerpupples is this your first attempt at ivf with donor sperm ?

Toniaa-I updated you on the board today. I am glad you found the website helpful. There is alot of great information a pictures. Being well informed and asking lots of questions is very important when going through IVF.

AFM-AF is killing me. I assumed that this time would be pretty bad because of the MC but I can honestly day I had completely underestimates it. I was miserable yesterday and had to leave work early. I called my RE and. He said thatthis wad pretty typical after MC's because there is alot if endometrial lining and tissue that need to be expelled, sorry for TMI. I sm allergic to all non-steroidal anti-inflamatories which includes things like midil, motrin, advil, etc... Tylenol is the only thing I van take and that was just not work g yesterday. So my doctor called in some Lortab for me and I took a 1/2 a pill last night. Thank God, because it did help a bit. Still in quite a bit of pain this morning and I am bleeding like I have never bleed in my life. But I know in the end it will have been worth it. I will be joining the other ladies on the board who are taking BCO today.
