dtao - good luck tomorrow! they are putting in 2? good luck, good luck! 2 are very good odds and you still have frosties from the previous cycle.
thank you for sharing your beta numbers - that's very reassuring. you are right - they say the number doesnt matter as much as the rise. i am keeping my fingers crossed my beta rises nicely tomorrow. i pulled my beta in to tomorrow moening - i just cant seem to wait till monday.

Lyd, I'm so sorry! It's sucks that the best chances are only 65%. Did you have one embryo tansferred or two?
Give your son an extra hug and kiss tonight. My daughter is about 1.5 months younger-- I can't imagine how much worse it would be not to have her...

thanks, dtao. we actually transffered 4 - but there was only 1 good ones. the others were really behind to begin with. being older makes it that much more difficult. even though eggs are not our problem our sperm is the problem - still it helps to have younger eggs as younger eggs can help correct for sperm's abnormalities.

i am feeling incredebly blessed to have my DS. i didnt realize how difficult it will be to get pregnant again. wow - this makes me realize how lucky we are. i have it in me to go through 1 more cycle for sure - then we'll see. my DH is taking suppliments now - so we'll probably shoot for another egg retrieval in mid november after he's had 3 months of suppliments.

Lyd, do you live in a state where insurance covers your treatments? Otherwise, how do you afford it? I'm already in it over $24K. Well worth it when it's successful, but I don't know how much we have it in us if not.

Wow your beta went up LYD!!! Could be it was twins and now is one?? It's been known to happen. Makes sense, as 143 is a nice healthy 'doubling' plus for 50. Fingers crossed for you, positivity comin' your way!!!!

hi guys - i havent updated this thread in a while - been posting on summer threadd mostly. yes, i've had a good rise in beta. i am going to update my siggie - but i've had 4 betas so far and i am now up to 1593 as of monday. but while the doubling time is good - the beta is still low relative to the average for 5 weeks. anyway - the big moment is this friday - i am coming in for u/s and i am praying for a fetal pole and heartbeat. i dont know how this is going to happen since i havent been feeling pregnant at all and my beta is still quite low. i think it will take a miracle!

dta - cant wait for you beta 2 results!

It was a negative as I suspected. Have been pretty devastated and depressed. Had a long phone consult with my doctor along with my husband today-- it has been a very disappointing summer for us all, including our doctor. He says he expected us to be pregnant too. Anyway, he felt sorry for us and is discounting the next cycle; I don't think we would have opted to pay for another cycle back-to-back. Plus no one thought we should opt for the 2 cycle plan (which we paid for the first time even though we got pregnant on the first try).

So, off all meds. Waiting for period. Then going on bcp's and getting back to baseline. He suggested we do a laparoscopy to find why my ovaries are so hard to access (the reason for the terrible retrieval)-- who knows what that will cost?

This just sucks.

Lyd-- I saw your post in the other thread. I'm so sorry. The only thing I can say is that this is preferable to having a miscarriage later or even birth a child with chromosomal abnormalities right?
