I hope everyone is having a good week :D

Tamera I am not familiar with any of those meds. Sorry I can't help.

Akdelp I hope AF gets here sooner than later! It is sooo hard to wait!!

Fruit Best of luck with your IUI. Fingers crossed :)

We I hope your levels have dropped. Thanks for the quotes, I love it :D

Anyone I missed, please know I think of you all the time!!!

AFM I had my appt yesterday, and I feel pretty good about how it went. I really have faith in my RE. He was honest with me and very empathetic. He said the results of all my testing found nothing wrong, which is good, but still doesn't explain why implantation didn't occur. I know we will never know that for sure. Anyway, he explained that if we went the IVF route a second time, that he would change my protocol to antagonist, and add AH. He seemed confident that the odds are in our favor. DH and I talked about it, and even though it will break the bank, we are going to give it another try. At least then, whether it works or not, I will feel like we tried everything we could. I need to call the office tomorrow to get us on the schedule! I hope this is it!!

Thanks for the help, I did a bit or research and got it figured out. I just read so much about women using a nasal spray to stop the trigger of ovulation and when I didn't see one on my RX I got a bit worried, but the centrotide is what that is used for. Being that I am working with a clinic abroad, wanted to make sure they got me all the right meds. I will start meds at home but fly a few days later and be in there country for 2 weeks so they can monitor me and what the progress to change doses accordingly. Its a bit nerve wracking not being able to do it here in Germany where I live, but here they just approved PGD testing and only on select couples who have a history of genetic inherited problems. Older women are more at risk for problems solely because of there age and me being considered older (turn 42 in Oct), I want this done. Here is the schedule they have worked out for me, based on when my menstrual starts (gonna narrow it down by seeing when it starts this month and next):

October 26th: Day 1 of menstrual period.
October 28th: Day 3 of menstrual period. This is when ovulation induction begins.
October 31st: First sonogram day for follicle tracking, so that we can observe your response to the medication and decide on further dose.
November 2nd: Second sonogram.
November 3rd: We are likely to introduce cetrotide injections.
November 6th: Last day of ovulation induction medication.
November 7th: Estimated day of trigger injection.
November 9th: Estimated day of egg retrieval.
November 14th: Estimated day of embryo transfer.

If these end of being the dates I will get my beta on Thanksgiving, thankfully its not celebrated here so my local doctor will be open, the turkey will have to just wait :). Also from what I read if you get a "trigger" shot you cannot take a HPT before the 2ww is up cause it can give a false result? Sorry for so many questions, just a bit over whelmed since I don't have a local doctor that is doing this, i'm kind of running blind. My OBGYN knows I am doing this, as she did all my preliminary testing, but I think she was a bit taken back by the fact that I am not having it done here in Germany, but she will be the one treating me when I return. The great thing about having private insurance here is the German doctors will pretty much make time for you all the time, cause they love billing you since most of there patients are on the socialized care system here, so she never questions my requests :).

we were never thinking of changing IVF clinics. We are super happy with the doctor and nurses at our current clinic and our pregnancy rates have been decent (of 10 embryos transferred - 5 failed, 1 miscarriage and 4 preterm babies). BUUUUUTTTTTT..... I am interviewing for a job at a *different* hospital (both are equally close/far to my home, but in opposite directions). If I get this new job (which I think is a real possibility! They really liked me today), I would have to go to the first hospital (15 minute drive), wait there for us/bw and then commute to the second hospital (30min drive from first hospital but only 15 min drive from home). There is an IVF clinic in the second hospital (and the insurance would cover us there too). Part of me thinks that if I get hired in the second hospital, I would want to switch clinics just to make things sooo much more convinient. But then again - I'm so accostmed to the clinic I've been with. All the nurses and techs know me. I am used to their system. I wouldn't have to file any extensive paperwork with the insurance if we continue with the same clinic, but I'm not sure what the procedure would be to switch. Also, our frostie is at the first hospital - I'm not sure we can move that. I guess that *if* I get this new job and *if* we decide to switch clinics, we will still do our FET at the first hospital. FETs are much easier in terms of how often I would have to go in for bloodwork/ultrasounds. But if the FET fails and we have to do fresh again, we would switch clinics.

(just sharing some thoughts that I can't share with anyone else!)

Wish me luck on getting this job! (One of the fantastic things about living here is amazing maternity leave benefits -- 12 weeks PAID leave - the first 6 weeks for mom-only and the second 6 weeks can be shared between mom and dad --- more PAID time off after a C-section, for any NICU time or hospital time for me, etc --- but you need a job to get it!)

I kinda feel guilty about job searching when I know that I will most likely need lots of time off for bed-rest (and maternity leave). The new OB we are considering said that he would put me on preventative bed-rest starting at about 18 weeks. If I end up on bed-rest, which is very likely, the national insurance here would cover us and I would get paid my full salary, so we don't have to worry financially -- but I feel guilty looking for a new job and HOPING that I'll be missing tons of work. My DH says not to worry about it or feel guilty about it -- there are reasons why there are laws in place to protect working women who need bed-rest and maternity leave. I know he's right (besides, we need the money I would make from working and I'm not doing anything interesting by having this time off), but I still feel weird.

(Oh - the background is that I was laid off of my last job in the middle of my last IVF cycle and then ended up pregnant with twins - which made finding a job really hard! So I've been out of work for about 6 months and I'm looking for some type of mindless office work. The IVF is pretty much dominating our lives, I don't have the energy for a real career)

Hi Leora - in the case you didnt feel like switching clinics maybe you can al least do your b/w a the new hospital ( assuming you get teh job there). and they can just fax over the results to you rld clinic. maybe your old clinic just issue an order for b/w at your new hospital the same way they would for an out of town patient. and for u/s you could still drive over.

Hi Ladies, So sorry I have been out of touch . Back to work and things have been insane  . Anyways, it is so good to see the board so busy with positive ladies for fall cycles. Hopefully this positive energy will send tons of BFPs our way!

Fruit - Sending you hugs and well wishes.

Kiminsh - Glad all of your tests came back negative. I did an antagonist protocol with my last cycle and stimming went so much better for me. I had 26 eggs with 4 embryos left over to freeze. So I was so grateful for the change in protocol. I understand how IVF breaks the bank. I am so happy the 3rd go around will be a FET which is so much cheaper. Best wishes.

Tamara - Sounds like you are going to have a busy cycle!!! All of the REs I have seen (3) have been against taking a HPT because you can get both a false positive due to the trigger and a false negative due to other issues. So they rather you wait until the beta. With my first cycle I was a POAS monster and I got so worked up and out of control that I refused to POAS my last cycle. If you chose to POAS just remember that nothing is final until your beta. What are you doing PGD for? I have done PGD for Sickle Cell disease since DH and I are both carriers, so I was just curious.

Always - I am so sorry to see you over here. I was rooting for you!! Hopefully they can find out what is causing the mc. Sending you hugs.

Pray - How are you? I hope things are going well!

AFM - Well I met with my RE on Tuesday and he wants to do all this testing to rule out anything that he may have missed. I had a ton of blood work to check for blood clotting disorders, Lupus, thyroid function and all sorts of other things I did not write down. I figured if anything came up I could write them down then. He also want to do another HSG to make sure there have been no changes that could impact implantation. So that is scheduled for next Thursday. If all is clear the plan is for an FET late October or early Nov.

Sorry if I missed anyone.

Take care,

Felicia

I am new to the whole process. This is going to be our first IVF attempt. We start the fertility drugs on Aug 24 and est egg retrieval is Sept 15. I hope all goes well my husband and I agreed we will try it one time, and if it does not work then we were meant to adopt. I am a healthy female we have a male issue so hopefully we will have success. In the mean time I would like to find places to donate the eggs that I will have left over can anyone please point me in the right direction.
