Colds whilst on treatment

Post by DonnaF »

I have come down with a really sore throat and classic cold symptoms. I feel really terrible, and am considering taking something eg. Beechams hot lemon with paracetomol. The problem is that I started injecting with my Gonal-F yesterday!

I am trying to resist taking anything, but I really do feel really under the weather.

Any advice would be welcome!

Love

Hi Donna

I also had cold and just had as much rest as I could, keep really warm and drink hot water with a spoonful of honey (and lemon if you like)
Paracetomol is also fine.

Take care and hope it goes quickly, good luck with your treatment

Donna, I had a quick look in some books and found the following advice. Most of it is for during pg, but I can't think it would be that different.

If really blocked up, saline nose drops are OK.

Drink 250ml of fluids every hour esp. water but also juice, soups etc. Hot fluids are best apparently. Limit dairy products esp. milk.

Vicks VapouRub is OK.

Inhalation - use/make a steam vapouriser. Use for 15mins every 3-4 hours. If not too uncomfortable, up it to 30mins.

I like to make my own honey and lemon drink too.

Good luck!
Debra.

Thanks for all your advice.

I actually took the last 2 days off work and slept and slept and slept. I feel much better now, and so I guess leaving it to Mother Nature was probably best!
