GHOST please

Post by fruit »

Hello Ghost,
while waiting for my my FET cycle in another clinic, we decided to try another fresh cycle.
my RE wants to do a mild stimulation (actually milder than the usual mild since last time we did mild stim and i responded highly) so he is giving me the choice between Clomid (i usually give 5 follies with clomid) or 100IU of GonalF or Puregon per day (maybe if im responding highly we can drop it to 50IU later)

which one do u think is better for the endometrium receptivity ??

i appreciate ur feedback since my RE isnt being very helpful concerning this subject & leaving the choice for me... (as if im the specialist :? )

thank you.

Clomid is cheap but I have heard that it's bad for the endometrium. There's even a current article saying so, in press just today.

Ghost thank u for ur answer.
im concerned with which one is - if i may say - better or less harmful for the endometrium receptivity.
i know that once u told me that they say Clomid is bad for the endo. and this is why i thought i would ask u.

so i'll go with GonalF and not clomid ?

im not very much concerned about the medication price (since im gonna pay for the whole cycle) im more concerned with which one is - if i may say - better or less harmful for the endometrium receptivity.

Like my signature says, I am no expert. I have heard that Clomid is bad for receptivity, and that this has been known or believed for some time. I therefore suspect it's much worse for the endometrium than FSH.

fruit,
Hey aren't you guys also trying an IUI this cycle? :D
I also had to put in my two cents...I previously used clomid with my obgyn when we were first ttc and it did absolutely nothing for me where my lining was always thin. I heard clomid is primarly used if you have trouble ovulating and since we do ovulate fine every 28 days, I think using Gonal would be the way to go also. Are you with 2 different clinics? I've thought about talking with my old clinic to see if I can get baseline numbers pulled from my chart to compare thyroid levels and ask them for their thoughts too, but a the same time I am happy with my new clinic so much more AND they work closely with my favorite obgyn. My old clinic rarely drew bloodwork on me seriously so I wouldn't have much to compare. BTW, they are letting me file the thyroid paperwork through my obgyn-- meaning I am hopeful that it won't cost near as much with filing through a medical doctor AND it's only a 25 minute drive to my obgyn (instead of that long commute) so I am pretty thankful for that! Not sure how well I'll do with big bellies surrounded all around me at the obgyn clinic but I have to work on that...

hello sunshine, thank u for ur reply.
yeah actually we did an IUI last friday but im not hoping very much coz i ovulated many hours before but we did it anyway coz i wanted to and my RE said that the egg lives 24 hours bla bla bla and i didnt rest at all coz i had my friend's wedding and i had to go with her everywhere and help her and lift very heavy things so now im preparing for my next cycle coz im sure that i will be having my period in 10 days :P

im glad that u're happy with ur new clinic, i changed clinics and i wasnt happy at all with them, so i think that maybe i'll be back to my old one.... are u working with ur RE on fixing ur thyroid levels or not yet ?

Hi Fruit yes sometimes it's good to look ahead but I don't know how long it's going to take to fix my thyroid. Last Friday while I was in there for the pregnancy test they also filled another vial to get my thyroid checked. THey said they are sending it to LabQuest and I should hear back on Friday. I looked over the paperwork and it had my obgyn's name as the referance provider b/c I had asked them if my obgyn could monitor me and fax over the results to the fertility clinic too. My obgyn is fantastic everytime I see him I tell him I cannot wait for him to deliver my baby, and of course he says he looks forward to working with me on my pregancy- all professional like. :D So my obgyn and RE will be working together on this and I will know next Frdiay what the outcome is. Good luck with your IUI, it never hurts to try them too. :D
