Hey ladies,

Have any of you experienced any mild cramping around 14 weeks? I've been feeling pretty good for the last couple of weeks (m/s is pretty much gone etc...) Last night and now this morning too I've had some mild cramping. It's not horrible but it's enough for me to notice. I do know I haven't been drinking enough water and I've been out in this horribly hot sun a lot over the weekend. Could dehydration cause it? I'm planning to drink LOTS of water today and stay on top of staying hydrated and see if it gets better. I have an appointment w/ my midwife for Friday.

Your thoughts?

Hey Nancy- I haven't had any cramping sing week 7 but I have had plenty of ligament pain. I think you are right to up your water intake. Wouldn't hurt to call the OB just to ask. That is why they are there!

LYD10- Thinking of you today! Sending big time prayers and doubling vibes your way.

Mora- welcome back!

ttcnb- I should have guessed what you did being out in WA. ;-) How is the job market for what you do? Crazy time to switch but happy mama = happy babies. Good luck.

Katie- how did the half go?

AFM- our dear dog was sprayed by a skunk last night and came into the house through his dog door to lay on all our rugs after. We woke up to burning throats and nostrils at about midnight and got to work removing all the rugs, mopping, and wiping down his dog door. I am glad I had already planned to take today off. The whole house reeks and I am washing everything in sight now that we have worked out all the skunk oil. What I am NOT doing is writing a paper...which is why I stayed home in the first place. Ugh!

Also- yesterday we took the boat 2 hours through the Inland Waterway for lunch at one of our favorite dockside places (I live on a lake that is part of a long chain of lakes). It was great but when I got home last night I got crazy sick. It seemed like food poisoning. :-( I'm fine today but hope the LO is okay.

Funny thing? The smell of DH's coffee makes me nauseas still...and so does the smell and sight of leftovers. But skunk??? Apparently its not a problem. Thank goodness because I think the odor is going to be with us for awhile unfortunately. Lol. Pregnancy symptoms are so weird...

Sorry, Nancy - i dont have any experience with that. i cramped and continue to cramp in week 5 and 6 but that doesnt help you. they do say that cramping in pregnancy is common all over the internet. if you have time maybe you can get in to see your OB and do an U/S for peace of mind.

Thanks, ladies. I've been downing the water all day and the cramps have gone away. I think I got too hot this weekend. I wasn't doing work in the sun. We were watching a friend's children play soccer but just sitting there in the sun watching I was soaked with sweat. I think (am hoping) the combo of that w/ me not drinking enough is what caused it.

Any little thing can make you freak, you know. I was so relieved when we made it out of first trimester. I guess we are never worry free. LOL

OMG - ladies you are so sweet!!!!

the beta came in at 1600. which is good. because this means that my doubling time stayed at 48 hours. so i was very happy with that. my doc on the other hand still sounded very cautious - the level is obviously low for how far along i am supposed to be - but since i started very low - there was really no way for it to be higher at this point. so i am not sure what he expected. as far as i am concerned it did what it was supposed to do - contunued to double every 48 hours for a week.

so the next visit is friday and its U/S. so looking for the correct structure developments and heartbeat at that point.

on one hand i am relieved that my beta coninued to grow. on the other hand i am still sad that it is so low. i hope hope hope we will see the right stuff on friday.

OMG - does this ever end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please let me get through this already!!!!!!!!!! Give me a heartbeat and a proper looking baby on friday!!!
beta levels are weird. on friday my beta - if it stays on this porjectory - will be 6400. can you see a heartbeat at that low of a level? i am going to check the "interwebs"...

i've heard of 2 women on these boards that started out with beta of 25 and had babies. this is basically what i am going through right now. my initial beta level i am pretty sure was made up of 2 embies - 25 each. one didint make it and the other one is still going strong. the only question is is it strong enough? i am encouraged by the 48 hour doubling time - but discouraged by so much else. you know how it is.....

thank you ladies for your thoughts and well wishes! they mean so much!!!! 4 more sleeps till friday :)

Lyd- Congrats on a great doubling time! From everything that I have read/heard, the actual number doesn't matter. Supposedly all that really matters is the doubling time. So I expect that you'll have a great ultrasound! As far as when you can see a heartbeat, I don't know anything about the correlation with betas. I think around 6 weeks, you expect to start seeing a heartbeat, but some don't see one until later. I know that the worry just continues, but I'm praying for you!

Lyd- Just so happy that your numbers doubled and I know it's easier said than done but we thank God for little mercies and you are still moving in the right direction so we will all be with you to get to the US on Friday. We will be sending positive thoughts to get the positive outcome that we all know you deserve.

Bliss - It is really a difficult decision to think about making the switch in jobs with everything going on and I am definitely on the fence about it all. The market is ok for what I do but it's still all about the netwrok to land something.

Today I had my first Peri visit and the three little ones are still kicking and getting stronger. HB on the twins were 136 and the singleton was 132. I feel blessed but the potential complications are real and scary. The doctor refused to even entertain the TAC for me as she believes the morbidity rate is just not worth the risk and she used the regular cerclage with my DS and it worked really well after being 3cm dilated. She believes that the TAC is for a different profile of person. She did suggest that with the complications we should think about voluntary reduction if we can make that decision as it will obviously reduce the risks greatly. I know she was just being the best doc she could be and she is very good at what she does but it is still really depressing to hear the amount of complications that could occur because of the type of multiple pregnancy I never thought reduction would be an issue for me but it really is and I don't believe I can make that decision without the "real" life or death decision in front of me. My husband is definitely a glass is full person and I am definitely more pragamatic but I think we both know we will not do it unless forced to. I go back to the RE in 2 days and will talk to her about this as well.

That's a lot for one day and I hope you are all doing well.
