KJM - congrats momma! WHat wonderful news that they are both healthy, I know how frustrating it is to have given birth and not have them next to you but hang in there cause you will have a lifetime to hold them and enjoy! Try a heating pad on your breasts and thinking of baby or even smelling a blanket of theirs, sounds silly but the brain is powerful and not having the sensory stimulation of your babies near you makes it harder, keep massaging and thinking of your babes!!!

Lou Having had 2 csecs I would certainly not recommend one unless medically necessary, I just had a friend whose baby was big and she was petite and she pushed for hours only to have an emergency c-sec, so I am sure you and your OB will make the right call and I am hoping you can deliver vaginally.

Blair - wow you are all belly and tiny, congrats on a gorgeous momy and bump!

Typing and bfeeding, amazing how now that we both have the hang of it I can even get up and move rooms with her attached! Too funny! So yesterday I was looking over my incision and argh I think I see two internal stitches trying to come out :( of course on a friday when ob is closed :( heal you b*** of an incision! I just want to be well for my beans!

Lou- prescreen is just a generic term for one of many tests you can do instead of amnio or CVS. I did the quad screen. I think it predicts around 95% of all downs and trisomy 18 defects. Its not foolproof, but its less invasive than amnio (all through b/w and u/s). The results wouldn't have changed our plans if it was abnormal, but we just wanted to be mentally and emotionally prepared if there were issues.

KJM- WOW!!! What a surprise for you and for us. I am so glad everything turned out okay. Rest up and take care of yourself. Can't wait to see pics and hear how you are doing. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Margi- well it is about time!!!  You look marvelous darling!

SD- your nursery is so sweet! I just love the decals of the raccoon. Precious.

Rio- your b**** of an incision is really starting to p*** me off! Hope you feel better soon. This has seriously gone on long enough!

Hey Mama's,

I need some advice. Since Friday night I have had persistent, mostly dull pain in my left abdominal area. It's not cramping or throbbing, just persistent light pain. It happens to be exactly where the baby is. It is mostly mild but at 5:30 this morning it was strong enough to wake me up. It seems to be worse in the evenings and at night.

I feel silly calling the doctor if it is just the normal aches and pains of pregnancy. Especially since I have my anatomy scan a week from tomorrow. However it does not feel like ligament pain, it's too consistent for that I think. It does just seem natural though that I might be a little uncomfortable in the area where the baby is.

Is this normal and just part of pregnancy as you get bigger? I'm 19 weeks but would guess I am measuring a little ahead.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Rio- thanks for posting the list again! I will take your advice and see what I can do to avoid a c-section.

SD- Nursery looks beautiful! Was the tree painted freehand?

Alisa - thanks for explaining the pre-screen. I had the 1st tri screen and a level 2 ultrasound, then the 16 week bloodwork also. I wonder if that's the same thing? I don't remember specifically the pain "where the baby is" but I did feel "stretching"type pains that were more constant and different from round ligament pain. Maybe that's it?

AFM- Finished hanging the art in the nursery last night. I'll post pics soon. Next up, packing the hospital bag! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Thanks Lou. I just got off the phone with my Doctor and he said it sounds like normal stretching and that there is more to come. :D Holy cow it's gonna be a long 21 weeks...but I'll take it. I feel so silly interrupting his long weekend, but I guess that is what he signed up for when he became an OB/GYN. I love that he didn't make me feel stupid. He said a heating pad is okay as well as a hot bath which surprised me...sounds sooooooooo good. He also said to take Tylenol, but so far I am okay without it. I think it is time to schedule a pregnancy massage!

Kat- i set up with my pediatrician about 4-6 weeks ago. Glad i did then! Also it is good to do early so you have more choices. Around here you can be limited. By they way. You look wonderful and great profile pic of LO.

Stephanie- great pics of your boys. They are getting so big, esp compaired to my 4 pounders. Grat advice on chapstick. I would have gone nuts. Did you use a belly band or anything afterwards to help with belly?

Rio- i know that wound care had to be painful but hopefully you have already seen some healing. I am so sorry for your long recovery. You motivated me to go for vaginal and i am so glad i was able. I am pumping every 3 hours but only few drops at a time. They said it will be hard because the body does not produce the hormones it would if babies were latched. I try. Last night i watched videos of my babies while pumping to see if would help.

Margi- you are looking great. We all have felt huge but to everyone else you look great! 28 weeks and going strong. Keep it up!

Sonya- great to hear from you, brogan is growing well it sounds! Glad all is well.

Blair- sorry about rash moving. You are also looking just great. Love the nursery. We are still waiting for furniture. Luckily they wont need it for awhile cause even when they come home they will be in bassints.

Lou- chapstick was a lifesaver. Comfy clothes both warmer and cooler. Hospitals can be cold and i wished i had moe medium weight shirts. Otherwise most things are provided.

SD- love your nursery. Can you transport it to my house. Mine is still empty waiting for the furniture i ordered 10 weeks ago. 8 weeks at longest they said. Now it is 2 more. Glad tgey have bassinets.

Bliss- Glad your quad screen went well. I had a spot on my right side that hurt at times but if i touched it it would be a very sharp pain, it was ligament stretching. So it does sound right. Glad you called dr. Better to be safe.

Hope everyone else is doing great.

Afm- still doing good. I go home today but can stay till last feedings of day so will be here all day. Babies are doing great. Got to hold hunter today and he had his first nippleful of food. He ate like a champ. He had on episode of apnea last night but they are just watching for now. He is off cpap machine since noon yeasterday. Ella moved to a step down unit and is continuing to di great. I think she decided she was ready and didnt let hunter give his opinion. Kind of his fault as he was always kicking and lying on top of her.
Im off to chane diapers, hope to cuddle and feed them- thats not as fore sure as the diaper!

Alisa, I've been getting pregnancy massages every 1-2 weeks for the past couple of months! I alternate between the chiropractor and a masseuse! Go for it, you deserve it. And yes, warm baths are fine. I have my share of those too! :D
