AFM- Well, I'm doing ok. School started on Tuesday & I have been so busy & tired. Tired actually is an understatement...exhausted is more like it! I like all of my classes....the kids are great (so far that is). We'll see how they are when they actually have to do some work, lol! I have really no major symptoms. I've been tired, but again I'm sure it could be the adjustment to my new school schedule. My sense of smell is a little different....sometimes things smell really weird & gross to me & really strong. My boobs are a little tender. I've had a very minor amount of nausea...just here & there. DH is being very calm & quiet about everything. I think he just doesn't want to get so overly excited & then be crushed, which I totally understand b/c I'm the exact way. I talk to my babies & rub my belly & kiss the picture of them I was given at my ET & tell them they're beautiful & handsome...I secretly think 1 is a boy & 1 is a girl, lol! I'm such a dork! So, the u/s is scheduled for Tuesday at 3. I'm not sure what to expect. Anyone know? Will I see a heatbeat or will it be too early? I will be 5w6d.
Ester -- You *might* see a heartbeat (or two!) at 5w6d but don't be discouraged if you don't because it's supposed to show up around 6 wks and is much more likely at 6 1/2 weeks and should be a sure thing by 7 wks. My u/s was at 6w3d and we did see the flicker. :D Still so excited for you! Chloe has learned to break-dance and can move and shake my whole stomach! We're getting really excited to meet her.

Thank, Lou! I'm so thankful everyday that each day I reach a new milestone, as silly as that sounds! Everyday that there are no issues like bleeding I'm grateful. What were your symptoms around this time? I'm 5w3d. When did the symptoms (nausea, food cravings) start for you? Break-dance, huh? That's hilarious! I bet you're excited!

My main symptom was fatigue early on... I just felt more tired than usual. I read too much into the breast tenderness because honestly, that came and went until about 9-10 wks when it went away completely. I didn't have full blown morning sickness but would get queasy in the mornings when brushing my teeth or taking pills. Other than that it would hit me here and there but passed quickly. I had brown spotting around 7 weeks that freaked me out but I called my OB who said it was common and I went back to RE for an u/s and all was fine. Could have been a tiny SCH or old blood from implantation. Weeks 12-18 were tough because I felt awesome... totally normal, but wasn't showing yet and didn't feel any flutters of movement until I was 18 weeks exactly. Even then I only felt something every 2-3 days or so until about 22 weeks when it became a daily thing. My little bump showed up around 20 weeks and I was excited to move into maternity clothes that I'm now totally sick of...lol. Thank goodness I had a fetal doppler so I could check on the baby when I felt the need. I bought the Sonoline B 3Mhz off ebay for about $60. Just don't read too much into symptoms. They can be there one day and not the next. I really drove myself nuts with that and even continued to POAS every few days until I was nearly 10 weeks.

hi Ester - i am so excited for you! exhaustion is a very good sign - that means your progesterone is rising and that's what's making you tired. especially since you are not even on PIO - so its definitely your own progesterone made by your two embies!!! i cant wait to hear your news on tuesday. at 5weeks they'll be looking for sacs and fetal poles i believe. you can search for videos on youtube. there are U/S videos of 5 weeks and you can see what to expect. h/b maybe but not guaranteed by any means. just as long as the rest of the structure is measuring on time that's all they want to see.

i am so excited - as if its my own U/s coming up :) there is so much waiting in this IVF - its nce to live vicariously through other people's milestones!!!

MAndrae -i am sorry your beta is not as high as some other people's. but there are definitely several people on this board that started in 30s and went on to have healthy babies. at least 3 or 4. i know because i was asking everyone when i had my low betas. unfortunately i havent been lucky with low betas - mine turned into ectopic one time and chemical the other time. but that's not going to be you!!!! do not worry!!! you will join the ranks of ladies whose low betas went on to grow into beautiful babies.

AFM, Ester - its easy to be confused about my cycle plans because i am myself confused. we havent decided what to do yet. firstly i need for my beta from my chemical to go down. and i am not bleeding enough unfortunately. my beta is still in 3000s. we'll measure it again next wednesday and if it doesnt go down enough we'll do a D&C. i hope i start bleeding more - we'll see. in any case if i have to do a procedure then be it - it will get me closer to starting the new cycle.

as far as my next cycle plans - they are making me take one month off to recover. makes sense - even though the waiting hard. and then i have a choice to make - i will either do lupron protocol with fresh transfer or antagonist with frozen transfer. i think i am leaning towards doing lupron with fresh transfer. i am considering the other one because the only time i got pregnant was on a frozen transfer so i favor frozen transfers. but my doc is telling me that fresh should work just as well. in any case - we are going to do 2 more IVF attempts and if the lupron/fresh doesnt work then the next time will do antagonist/frozen. by next summer one way or another we are going to be done - either pregnant or satisfied that we've tried everything to give our DS a sibling and alas couldnt do it.

so that's where i am at.

hope everyone is doing well!!!!

22years - cant wait for those beta numbers!!!!

Evening ladies :)

Mandarae: I'm rooting for you for your beta to double. And as some of the other ladies have said, even with numbers in the 30s really healthy babies have been born. And you know what? You arnt spreading negativity if you are down - you are reaching out for support so please do.

Moorebaby: thanks for asking your question - it answered lots of mine!!

22years later: yay!!!! Fantastic numbers :)

Afm : I'm good, tired off and on but I'm on a training course all weekend and its a tiring one anyway! I was yawning so much yesterday and getting really strange looks from the trainer as im one of those awfully annoying people in training courses that pays rapt attention to whats being said and my eyes actually closed last night! Gave in to that horrible doubting voice earlier and did another pregnancy test. Still coming up as pregnant :) Seriously, you would think I would know better!

I've been MIA because I havent felt very positive and didnt want to share that negativity. Anyway, I went for my beta today at 11dp3dt and it was only 38.6. I was afraid of that. I either wanted a definite positive or definite negative (I soo need a glass of wine or two) not somewhere in between grrrr. I go back on Monday and am praying that I have some doubling! This whole process is EXHAUSTING.

Moorebaby- congrats on the continued great betas!!!!
There have been many women who went on to have healthy pregnancies w/ BETAS around that number. The important thing is that it rises appropriately, which it will! I will be praying for you!

Don't give up. Just like others have said, there have been others on this board who have had slightly lower Betas and have had healthy babies. Sending you doubling Beta vibes.

WTH???

ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR RE In the NJ/PA area???? THXS :D

Lauren - I went to Main Line Feritility which is located in Bryn Mawr, PA. I mainly saw Dr. Glassner there and had an amazing experience with him and all his staff. As a first time IVF'er they walked us through the whole process step by step. Their success rates are pretty good I believe and they helped us get pregnant on our first try! If you want any other information about them, feel free to let me know!
