Re: Fall Cycle 2011 (Sept, Oct, Nov) this cycle is the one!!

Post by Sunshine1576 »

I am perplexed of this bill I received in the mailbox tonight from my old clinic. There must be a mistake somewhere???? We had the laproscopic procedure last April seriously and I am now receiving a bill from my old fertility clinic what nearly 6 mnths later! I have kept ALL my receipts from them and I am thinking what happened is maybe Dr. Ripps wasn't able to collect from the insurance company SO they billed me instead. I thought we had moved on from this clinic but apparently not, the bill is around $300 but the point is I shouldn't have to be stuck with it, very surprised they didn't go ahead and tack it on my credit card # they kept on file, but seriously I dread going back into that place to straighten this out. Why does this journey have to be so complicated, I don't work well with loose ends and unexpected bills from old clinics...

Maria - UGH! Nothing in the world worse than neck pain -- you can't do anything without pain! Feel better! Take lots of pain meds and a hot bath. --- also - remember that your stepkids are teenagers. No teenager is happy or appreciates what their parents do for them. Remember the Mark Twain quote "At 17, I was amazed at how little my parents knew about the world. But at 21, I was amazed at how much they had learned in just 4 short years". Hopefully, when they grow up a little more, they'll realize what a great step-mom you are.

Neffi - I don't think your child will be a 'left over'! Maybe do some reading on 'adoption' - since technically you are adopting those embryos. Maybe explain to your child that s/he was adopted, but even before s/he was born. Maybe read up on families that have a mixture of biological and adopted children. --- I hope the flooding goes down soon. Stay dry!

Chisty - wow! Planting a garden - I'm impressed! I have a 'brown and rotting thumb' and kill every plant I've ever come in contact with (including bamboo and cactii - which people say are impossible to kill!). My FIL won't let me touch anything in his garden. We live in an apartment, so I have no space to garden in any case, but even my windowsill violets in my kitchen need special help to survive my care! ----- I *WISH* I lived near a Borders. I have to say that the thing I miss most since moving to Israel from the USA is the amount of English books. It's hard and expensive to find books in English here. I do speak fluent Hebrew, but I prefer to read in English. Enjoy your cheap books!

Rosie - I'm at Mt Scopus - but I've sat in the waiting room at Shaare Tzedek (we met with Dr. Margoliot to consult about our plan for a future pregnancy in his capacity as a high-risk doctor). I was reading the fliers on the wall there -- apparently, they email your the directions instead of just calling you! That sounds amazing! I always repeat everything back to the nurses a million times to make sure I've got it right -- I'd love an email with everything written down. How did you like things at Ein Kerem? Mt Scopus can be a bit crowded in the mornings for bw and us -- but I've formed such a connection with the nurses there. We keep thinking about switching (SZ is much closer to where we live in Katamon), but I just love the people out on Mt Scopus.

Anton - music is great. I always can tell when I'm in a really bad funk - because I stop singing a long with the radio in the car! :D "Cypriot"! Duh! Okay... now can I admit that I'm a total moron -- I do have MA in International Relations and the situation in Cyprus is always discuss in foreign affairs classes! I'll let you know if I ever make it over for a visit.

About the Pipelle Biopsy (both Rosie and Antonia asked) - yes, it's only a 5 min thing done at the clinic. I don't even make an appt for it, just do an u/s and then wait for the doctor to have a free minute. But yes - it HURTS! I'm not sure if it hurts for everyone - I've heard that a HSG is incredibly painful, but I never thought it was. I was told to take some tylenol before the biopsy - but this time, I might ask for something a bit stronger. Yes, I've done it before during a BCP cycle and I'm doing it again now on BCP cycle. Last time, I only did on CD21 -- this time, they told me CD10 and CD21 -- I"ll call and double check that this is what I'm supposed to be doing.

Tamera - I hope work lets you take a leave of absence so you don't have to quit your job.

Sunshine & Stars - (do you have a real name that we can use? :D ) I just lost my twin boys after a very brief NICU stay. Both were healthy, just born waaaay too soon at 24 weeks. I can relate to how hard it is to hold your baby and say 'good bye'. <big hugs> --- day 5 transfer is great! Good luck!

Jen - welcome! I also love your screen name - 8675302! I asked for that number when I got a new cell phone -- but they said it was already taken. Darn! Congrats on your twin girls!

AFM - another job interview today. The woman loved me and was very impressed... but the job pays diddly-squat (equivilant of $6 an hour). WTF? Sheesh. Maybe I can negotiate a better salary, since I'm way more qualified than $6/hour!

No Primolut today -- officially waiting for AF. I'm guessing 3-4 days from now.... but I re-did my calculations - and I'm going to have to do a full 3 weeks of BCP if I want to do the pipelle biopsy and the HSG --- so looks like a tentative FET of about Nov 1.....

Sunshine1576-I am so sorry about this. I kno it must be difficult to want and think you've moved on and then you get this bill. I was going to suggestmaking sure that yhe clinic billed the insurance within the allowable time. If they did not thenbtgey are not allowed by law to bill you. This happened to me not to long ago. The clinic forgot somehow to bl the insurance and then billed then like 6 months later. The insurance denied the claim and the clinic was not allowed to bill me. It may be worth looking into but if moving on is the key then it may just not be worth it. Sending you lots of live. By the way, were you able to look into the Synthroid situation? I posted some additional information for you to look at yesterday. Hope it helped.

Leora-Thanks. In my heart I know they will appreciate what I've done for them. Honestly, sometimes I'm ok with the idea that they will never understand howmuch I've given up and just want to be treated like a person, with a little respect. The thing is that their mother jade never been a mother. She's always placed her womanhood above motherhood hence why I am tossing her two children and she is not. But I know they feel abandoned by their mother and I fell sometimes like they take that anger out on me. Especialy the oldest. He had absolutely no communication with her. He has refused for years yo speak with her or see her. Can you imagine your first born don refusing tp see you or speak with you. I tell DH all the time that if this ever happened yo me that I would just shrivel up and die. He always reminds me that this would never be the case because I'm such a loving and sacrificing person and mother. I'm anycase, out of the two he is the one that has suffered the most and he's the one that unfortunately has hurt me the most emotionaly. I know things will get better, and I sometimes see the light at the end of the tunnel already. I pray alot for them and always do the best I can for them. That's all I can do. Enough about that. Now, November 1st isn't that far off you original calculation. Trust me, it will be Herr in a flash. How is your nausea doing? I posted dome info on the Primulot a few days ago. Nausea is definantely a big side effect. I really hope your feeling better. Now that you've finished with the pills I csn finally start doing the AF dance for you. I love dancing and singing. I love music, period. Can't go a day without it.

AFM-I had an extremely long day yesterday. We were at the park from 12:30pm and did not het home until snout 9:30p. DH went with us do it was nice that we all spent the entire day together. The kids always have such a great time at these games. DS team won, 26-6. Not because I'm his mother, of course, but he played awesome yesterday. And DD chearleafibg team looked spectacular. DH and I had a good time talking to other parents who were also stuck there for hours. On another note, AF came yesterday. So I think. The discharge is definantely different than what I've had for the past month but not quite like other AF's. I don't know. I know my RE is hoping for a realy good flow this month but we will see what happens. It's just not quite right even today for day 2. I never thought I would ever be sitting down analyzing AF. But so much depends on how much bleeding I have this month. RE wants a rey good flow in order to flush anything that may have been left over from the MC. If this doesn't happen, I just don't see how we can move forward with FET on 9-30 and avoid having a D&C and waiting even longer. Well, all I can do is sit and wait and then wait some more.

Thanks again We for sending me the links...I'm still reading up but what I learned so far is in the US, there are two antithyroid medications available--propylthiouracil and methimazole (also known as Tapazole). I will have to call my RE on Monday to ask why I'm on Levothyroxine--since that's used strictly for hypothyroidism. All I know is they are trying to get my levels down and running labwork again in 6 weeks.

That is correct. And right now you are on Synthroid which is a medication used for people who have Hypothyroidism (not producing enough) not Hyperthyroidism (producing too much). So as a nurse I'm a bit confused and I can see why you are confused as well. Please let me know what ypur RE says tomorrow.

Let me just say that I do not feel that these embryos are "leftovers" I just meant it as what a child might few it as. I have done all the research with adoption because my Dh and I are waiting to adopt right now. I learned in our homestudy classes how much of an impact adoption can have on a child emotionally and that knowing where they came from is a big help most of the time. But in this situation, they will never know. I know that we will give them a wonderful life and they will know that they are loved unconditionally (if this is successful) I just hate to think that they ever have those burning questions. I guess its just a mother wanting her children to be happy! It is what it is, and I am so excited to begin this journey. I just wanted to clarify that this is not me worried, but more of what the child has ahead of them. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. And for those here in the US, and anyone else....-- 9/11- Never forget! Many every person who lost a loved one have peace.

Re Hypothyroid. You actually have hypothyroid if your TSH is high. TSH is thyroid stimulating hormone. So if your thyroid is low, you'll release more TSH to stimulate it more. If you had hyperthyroid your TSH would be really low because your thyroid wouldn't need stimulating. I know it seems backwards. So you are on the right meds. I'm on synthroid too.

Hope that helps to clarify.

Hi all,

Been trying to get caught up on all of the posts. I've been in a crazy intensive for school this week and have had no free time.

I'm thinking that keeping myself busy is a good thing. I hate waiting around.

So I got the call today and everything is a go! Egg retrieval for our donor on Tuesday and transfer on Friday. So if everything goes well I should be PUPO by Friday!!!! When I got the message today it kind of stunned me. I didn't think that it would go as smoothly as it is. Keeping my fingers crossed for a continued smooth ride.

Although, We did not know anyone personally who passed in the 912 terror attacks, I know many people who had dear friends an family members who did. It has been a very somber day today. Remembering all of the angels taken too early. DH who was in the military for many years and I could not help but be glued to the TV today. All we could do was cry and then cry some more. It was heartbreaking to watch children, mothers, father, brothers, sisters, and friends call out the names of each of their loved ones. DH and I clearly remember exactly what we were doing and where we were when the Word Trade Centers were hit and when each of them fell. Today we remember those fallen heroes and the angels taken too early from their friends and families. We should never forget that day, September 11, 2001.

That is correct. It is confusing but it's probably easier to think of it that way. Sunshine, which one did your RE say you had, hyper or hypo? If you are in Synthroid then you have hypothyroidism.

Thanks Indigo,
I have high TSH levels so I guess this would mean I have hypothyroidism and I am on the right med. It seems so backwards, but glad you could help me figure this puzzle out! :D

Hello All, thanks for moderating wehavehope

I'm finally on CD1 after being on Humira and intralipids for a month. I have immune issues that needed to be cleared up first.

I would like to join you ladies for September. I finally got the go ahead unless he finds a problem when I go in tomorrow. If he does not find anything here is my schedule:

Sept 10 take last BCP
Sept 12 Estradiol and CBC blood work and ultrasound
Sept 13 Start Microdose Lupron: 20 units am and pm
Sept 15 Microdose, start FSH am and pm start cipro start dexamethasone, baby asprin.

I'm excited and also very afraid. I'm scared as hell due to the fact that I will be taking so many drugs and hoping this will not cause me issues with health later. What is the use if having kids if you jack up your health trying to have them. As you can see, I have a bad case of the nerves tonight. Husband in NY during the anniversary of 911.

Sunshine and indigo, I am also on Levothyroxine, a thyroid hormone, is used to treat hypothyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone.
