Nancy, thank you for asking about me. I am doing okay, but a complication was detected a few weeks ago. I have TRAP sequence twins. There is an undeveloped identical twin that was causing the normal twin's heart to have to pump for both of them. I had an RFA procedure to break the connection (the undeveloped twin had no chance of survival due to having no heart, lungs or head). I am now on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy. I am hanging in there.

Hi Nancy- glad that the amnio turned out great and all is going well! I am not having an amnio, my NT scan at 12 weeks looked perfect. I go back for additional blood work next week and should know what my risk level is soon. I have another scan at 20 weeks and we will find out what we are having.

Mamaboo- Glad you are hanging in there on bedrest!

Crissylove- are you out there? Hope all is well!

Hi ladies,

Blissful: I did not have an amnio the first time around either. It's a very difficult and personal choice to make. With your young age and good scan results, I would not have done it either. I'm glad to hear that everything is going well otherwise. Keep me posted. You're in your 2nd trimester now. Can you believe it?

Mamaboo: I'm so sorry you had to go through that! It's great that your other twin is doing well. How long do you have to be on bedrest? Are you having any post-procedural discomfort? Hang in there and keep us posted.

Had my blood sugar test on Monday. Have not heard from my OB so I'm assuming that all is going well.
This time around I am having more dizzy spells than the previous pregnancy. But my OB said given tha my urine, BP was great, not to worry. Not pre-ecclampsia. Some days after running around my 2 year old all day I feel completely drained.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Ladies,

hope you're all doing well.

Mamaboo: How are u feeling? I know bedrest is no fun but hang in there! How is your baby doing? Please keep me posted.
Blissful: did you get the results of your blood test yet?

When are your official due dates?
I took my sugar test and thank God it came out ok. Last time I had to do the 3 hour test. No fun!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi ladies. I have been hanging around reading, but not posting much. I am doing okay. Little Denver is kicking like a soccer player. Sometimes my whole stomach jumps. I had GD class and am now checking my sugars and keeping it under control with diet. I see my regular ob ever 2 weeks for cervix checks and my perinatologist every 4 weeks for u/s. After 32 weeks I will see my reg ob ever week for an u/s. I still had some excess amniotic fluid a week and a half ago, but hopefully keeping my sugar under control will resolve that issue.

I am still rooting for all of you.

Hey mamaboo- glad you little one is safe, sound, and kicking STRONG after your little scare and that you are doing well. So happy things are going well for you. You had kind of a rough start!

AFM- no results on the blood test yet. I am doing an integrated test and only completed the last blood test this morning. Cystic fibrosis came back negative. Fingers crossed!

Nancy- My due date is 1/27.

Crissylove- are you around? How are things going?

Hi ladies,

Mamaboo: hang in there. I know how difficult it must be to be on bedrest. Hope you don't take this the wrong way. I don't wish that upon anybody because it totally takes your independence away, butif it makes you feel any better, today was one of those days where I really hoped I could just crash on the sofa or in my bed and just REST! I couldn't wait to be done with work and was wondering how in the world I was going to muster the courage and strenght to look after my son when I came home but somehow I made it! :-) He is getting some terrible twos-like symptoms....
Can we please educate on why excess amniotic fluid is no good? I know a lack of it is dangerous but know nothing about the excess issue.

Blissful: Have you heard back from your tests yet? Keep us posted.

I saw my perionatologist and he said everything looks great. The baby is now close to 3.5 pounds. While I have only gained 10 pounds so far, I look like I have gained about 30 since my belly is protruding like crazy.

Hope to hear from you guys soon.
Take care,
Nancy

Nancy: too much amniotic fluid causes your uterus to stretch more and cause preterm labor (especially as I had a procedure in which the dr's had to make a small incision into my uterus). Also, it raises the risk that if my water were to break, the umbilical cord could come through the cervix first, which is very bad. Also, it is a symptom that something is not right, heart failure for the LO or uncontrolled GD.

Hi ladies,

Mamaboo: how are you doing? DId the fluid lebel go down?
Blissful: haven't heard from you in while. Hope all is well.

I went to see my perinatologist for a follow up since my placenta was a bit low 10 weeks ago. Hed reassured me that everything was ok now! What a relief.
I am starting to look like a potato that's ready to explode although I've put on 12pounds only which is much better than my last pregnancy at 30 weeks.
Hope you are all doing well.
Have a great week.

Hi ladies,

I am almost 31 weeks and my little one is kicking me like crazy!!!! I hope this is not a preview of what's to come!!! :-)
I am starting to feel tired now and this past week have gotten quite big although weight-wise I have only put on about 12lbs which my OB said is excellent.
Sleeping is becoming more difficult too. At times when I get up im the middle of the night to rush to the restroom, I find it really hard to fall back asleep.
During the last pregnancy, I at least had the luxury to take a nap sometimes during the day. This time around, with a 2 year old running around the house, that's a no no.

Mamaboo: any news? are you still on bedrest?
Blissful: How are you doing?

Hope ro hear from you guys soon.
Happy Labor Day.

Hey Nancy- sorry I have been MIA. I started a board for new mommies due in 2012 and am list mistress for that one. Between that and trying to keep up about three other threads I have been really bad at posting! I also have been writing a paper for a three year program I am enrolled in at work and having been working on it since May. Its due next week and I pretty much have it all wrapped up now.

I can't believe you are 31 weeks! You are getting so close. I think your little soccer star is just a healthy little one who wants to demonstrate excitement about getting to come into the world and meet you face to face. Or perhaps all the torture will be limited to the womb and you are about to have the best baby on the planet.

I am doing well. Quad screen came back normal. Yay! We find out the sex a week from tomorrow. The u/s is actually on Monday but we are doing a big gender reveal with a cake and family the next day so won't know until then. Thank goodness the bakery is right across from my Doc's office and I can immediately drop the sealed envelope there. If I had to keep it with me for long I am sure I would give in and take a peek!

I am 28 weeks today! Yea, I made my first goal. I am to continue on bedrest for the rest of the pregnancy. However, I am okay with that. I need all the rest I can get right now, I am sooo tired most of the time. I am just so happy to be this far a long, I feel very good about how things are working out. I no longer have to go back to the high risk Dr, and baby looks great.

Hi ladies,
Blissful: congrats on the quad test results!!!! Thats' awesome!
Three thread?! I can hardly keep up with this one! LOL

Mamaboo: I'm glad to hear you're doing well! As far as bedrest goes, please don't take this the wrong way, but some days, I wish I could just nap all day and put my feet up. I have been feeling sooooo exhausted lately! I just moved not too long ago and the physical strain of it is still killing me.

Hope you are all doing well. I can't believe I might have another peanut in as early as 6 weeks!
Have a great week ladies.

Hi Ladies,

I can't believe that I'm almost at 34 weeks and still have so much to do to be readyfor this baby!
It seems like the weeks have been going by so fast!
The baby is kicking like crazy and if this is any prediction of things to come, I am going to need a lot of post-natal vitamins.
I am starting to feel more and more tired. I wish I could just nap for three days straight, but that's all wishful thinking.
Hope all of you guys are doing well.
Haven't heard from you for a while.
Keep me posted and have a great weekend,
Nancy
