Karin1: Have you tried swaddling them? Once I started the boys slept 6+ hours straight. It takes away the startle reflex, where they throw their arms out to the side. We use the Summer brand.
We found out yesterday that both boys have multiple hemangiomas (benig tumors) on their livers. Wyatt had already started beta blockers to shrink one on his back that became ulcerated (open wound). Now Will has to have a full cardiac work up and a 12 hour stay in the hospital to be monitored after his first dose of the same medication. It's absolutely amazing to see how much Wyatts external hemangiomas have shrunk in the last 2 weeks. Now we're waiting for their head U/S reports to come back to see if there were any on their brains. I believe I did see st least one on each but I'm only a nurse, lol.
On top of all of the babies health issues my FIL is in complete remake failure and refuses dialysis, so we're just counting the days that he has left.
All of your babies, nurseries, and bellies are beautiful!!
Gina- My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I have a hemangioma on my liver as well it was found during a laparoscopy when I was a late teen. Of course because of it I can't take birth control pills. I've had no issues with it but they did warn me that it could one day burst and cause internal bleeding. Something I sometimes forget to tell doctors. I hope and pray everything works out for the boys.
Happy Bunny- I'm with you I never did anything particular and both my kids alept through the night plus long naps during the day. Differant Daddy this time so wondering if that will change how this baby is as far as sleeping? So curious to see what kind of baby Lucas will be especially since I was blessed with two really really good babies.
Karin- Go ahead try differant things but don't get discouraged if something works for someone else's baby but not yours. It's a lot of trial and error and some babies simply are just not sleepers. My sister-in-law had twins that when they were 2 were still getting up 1-2 times a night.

Sorry I don't have time for personals right now but I wanted to post that my OB called and said my urine protein was up to 436 mg/24 hrs and that when I see her on Monday she's going to send me to the MFM for his "blessing" and then schedule an induction sooner than 10/9 like I thought.
Lou--- 1 beautiful baby girl from a single 8 cell embie in Sept 2011
Gina......my little Maddox has a hemangioma on his eyebrow. It's subcutaneous. Just looks like a shiner. He also has one on his hip and one under his arm. It showed up 3 weeks ago. It has grown and we're worried that it will affect his eyesight. We've seen 5 different doctors in the past few weeks. We've been told to just watch it and if it changes in the way to cover his eye that we would seek treatment. Its so hard to just wait and see. Sounds like your little guys are responding well to treatment, which gives me hope if we have to. Sorry to hear about your FIL. SEnding lots of prayers for your family.
Lou- bummer on the news but I am sure your Chloe will be just fine and its for the best. Keep your chin up. I guess the silver lining is that you'll get to meet her sooner rather than later. Of course I know you'd rather let her continue to grow healthy at home in Mommy. BTW- I forgot to tell you...great pic! You are one brave mama. I HATE my backside now and won't be caught dead in a bikini at this point.
Gina- so sorry about the boys and grandpa...Its tough to have to deal with either of those issues but dealing with both at the same time? That's downright ridiculous. Sending you lots of healing energy and prayers.

Lou: I'll be praying that everything goes well for you and Chloe.
Karin1: We saw a pediatric dermatologist b/c the boys have so many hemangiomas, but mostly because of Wyatts ulceration on his back. He was crying constantly when it opened. Anyway the ped. dermatologist referred us to a pediatric cardiologist who treats hemangiomas with propranolol, a beta blocker. He actually used it on his daughter. The huge mass on his back has shrunk dramatically. It was amazing that within 2 hours I could see changes.
Just be prepared as he may get more, Wyatt started to get lots of them around 7-8 weeks. He currently has over 24, most of them are small though. They say if they have more than 6 they need ultrasounds of the liver and brain as they are at an increased risk of developing internal hemangiomas. Our derm doc ordered all of the tests. Maybe you can call around to some specialists because of where it is, possibly blocking his vision seems scary.
Ryann: our boys are on Similac Sensitive for Spit Up it has the added rice, lime green label. It's been on sale at BRU for a few weeks, 30% off which is great if you don't feel like mixing.
Wow! Just spent the last hour getting caught up. Lots going on!
just want you all to know you are all close to my heart and I think of you often. Thank you for the congratulations on bringing Miss Marlo home. That was quite the ordeal. 17+ weeks!!! Yes Blair, keep those little ones in as long as possible....weeks on end is no good. Praying for you and your sweet girls. I will update eventually. This baby is a lot of work, and we are on a schedule...ugh. I am so happy to have her home though.
Gina......so far, Maddox only has 3. The one on his eyebrow is subcutaneous and the other two are red and raised. One is the size of a quarter on his hip....the other just looks like a small fingernail scratch. We saw a pediatric opthamologist several times and will go again this week just to be sure his eye is okay. I'm praying that it doesn't get bigger, but it seems to grow a little everyday. I'm praying that your boys are okay and that the treatment continues to work.
Mellow- Thanks. Still so excited for you and Marlo!!! As for us Im willing to stay cooped up in this room as long as they will have me. One of the nurses was telling me that for every day they stay in its 3 less days in the NICU. Our next big goal is 28 wks...which we will hit next thursday. So only 10 days until that goal...then we shoot for 32 wks.
Lou- WIshing you luck at the appt today. Hoping your BP is going back down and things are going well with Chloe. You will be meeting her before too long!!
Alisa- Have you started stocking up on pink and purple yet??
Kat- How are things going for you and Luke? Hope things are going well.
Ryann- Wasnt today your first day back at work? If so hoping everything went well this morning. Cant wait to hear about it.
Crissy- Havent heard from you in so long. Glad to hear things are going well.
kjm- How are those little ones doing? Post new pics whenever you can.
AFM- Things are still going well. Still having contractions every so often but they are mainly under control. They keep changing my procardia dose since it makes my already low BP drop. They also let me switch my heparin shots (since they switched me over from Lovenox) to my hips which means less bruising!! And I have great nurses, one of which surprised me with Doritos and Salsa last night which I have been craving for days now. Nothing too exciting which is good. Hope everyone is doing well.
Alisa- I would blame it on the pregnancy but ever since I was younger ive been a big fan of the doritos and salsa combination. You should try it...its just like tortilla chips and salsa with a little extra cheese.
Blair...thanks for thinking of me. Yep, I started back today. I cried all day yesterday in hopes of having no tears left today. Didn't happen! It feels good to be back to teaching, but BOY do I miss their little faces during the day! Every time a coworker said "how's those babies" I just about lost it! I hear it gets a little easier every day! We shall see. I'm glad you're still hanging in there-keep those girls cooking!!!
To everyone else...I'm caught up on reading, but with going back to work I'm just going to have less time to post!!!

Had dr appt today. Baby is measuring 31 wks -that's one week ahead. He looks good. He was hiding behind the placenta and even put his hand up in front of his face when they were trying to do a 3D of his face. He is apparently camera shy. My amniotic fluid is finally normal! Yea! We scheduled c-section for 11/28 if he does not come sooner. That is my other son's bday. They are my twins born two years apart. (They were conceived at the same time and frozen.)
Still reading and hoping for wonderful pregnancies and healthy babies for all of you. To those of you having issues, either with pregnancy or personal life, I am sorry, and hoping for the best.
