Mamaboo -- 11/28 is a good day.... it's also my birthday!

AFM -- I have to do another 24 hr urine tomorrow and bring it in on Wed. I also have an appt with the MFM on Wed for his "blessing"to induce. I see my OB on Thurs. She said we may induce Thursday evening. YIKES! But if not, then I do another 24 hr urine on Sunday and bring it in on Monday. OB said I won't go another week, so we're looking at an induction early next week if it doesn't happen on Thursday. Omigosh!!! The compounding issue is that DH's grandmother isn't doing well and she's out of state. She is very very old. Turns 99 right before Halloween. She's got advanced Alzheimers and doesn't recognize anyone and hasn't for a few years. DH's mother is going tomorrow to see her and say goodbye. She's no longer eating or verbalizing and isn't really opening her eyes much. The nursing home said it could be days or weeks. DH said he "feels a responsibility" to go there when she passes and I'm like....."um... what about ME and your BABY?" His answer? "When did you become helpless?" Ugh... this could turn into a huge fight. He said he'd "never forgive me" if I "don't let him go to his grandmother's funeral". I guess that means he's going no matter what and will be gone about days. I may be on my own for this delivery. I don't have anyone. No mother, no sisters, no one close enough to me to be there. Obviously, DH's family will all be at the services. God, I'm just praying she doesn't pass when my doc decides to induce. What do I do?

Lou - Sorry to hear about the ultimatum DH delivered... I literally asked "Are you CRAPPING me??!!" out loud when I read your post. DH was confused. But seriously, what the heck?! I'm sorry to hear about his grandma, but for Pete's sake! You guys have been trying for Chloe for a LOOOOOOONG time and should experience her coming into the world together. I'm really sad for you about this. I wonder if he realizes how much he'll never be able to forgive himself if he misses his daughter's birth... I'm praying for you guys that the timing works out for the best.

Ryann - Congrats on being back to work! And it DOES get easier, though from time to time I look through their pics on my phone and my heart aches to cuddle them.

Mamaboo - TOO CUTE about the twins being born 2 years apart! It'll make birthday parties a bit easier in the early years. My oldest two kids are 6 days shy of two years apart and we used to have awesome double parties. Bet you're super excited to have the finish line in site!

Blair - What a relief to hear things are going so well! Keep taking it easy, momma! Lord knows your days and nights will soon be so full, you'll forget what your bed looks like...

Gina - Hoping and praying for your beautiful boys! Sounds like they're on their way to getting better with the propranolol.

Mellow - HUGE CONGRATS on Marlo's homecoming! I don't know how I missed that bit of wonderful news. I'm sure you and your family are beyond ecstatic to finally have her home. Heck, it brought tears to MY eyes! (((HUGS)))

Hope everyone else is doing wonderfully! I'm REALLY looking forward to all the babies that are so very soon to come!

Lou- Wow, awful situation all around for both of you! I'd be totally shocked if he would even consider missing the birth of his daughter (let alone not being there for his wife.) Perhaps he just needs a little time to re-evaluate things...fingers crossed. I'm sure you are feeling very hurt, big hugs to you. You might consider asking him to think about what his grandmother would want and rather than pin you with the guilt of "not letting" him go to his grandmother funeral, think about what his decision will mean for him the rest of his life in choosing to be absent from his daughter's birth. Can he really live with that over missing a funeral????? I hope for both of you he is not put in the position to chose.

I've had several arguments with my DH that remind me of this situation with your spouse (though not quite to that degree), it is a huge relationship shift when you start a family. It is no longer about your needs verses his, but rather the beginning of your lives as a family and both of you making decisions that put your family unit first. My DH has become better over time with this, but it was/is a HUGE transition with him understanding that when I'm asking him to "give up" something I'm not asking for me personally, I'm asking for the sake of our family and our son....I still haven't exactly gotten through but there is progress and I really think it is a longtime before they really get it (I wouldn't say mine had totally got it yet, but small steps bring us closer) I really hope that things work out, I think in 10 years from now he'll be completely shocked he even had a moment's consideration of not being there. I'm sure he'll grow so much as soon as he sees Chloe's adorable lil' face!

Good luck and I'll be thinking of you!

Lou - Wishing you the best of luck. Can't wait to see pics of little Chloe. Sorry that your DH is putting you in this predicament. I can't believe he doesn't put you and that baby ahead of the grandmother. I know he probably love his grandmother a lot but this is the birth of his child. Hopefully she holds off for awhile till after Chloe has arrive.

SD- i have sort of a similar situation with my DH which might be leading to arguments after this little boy is born. Him and his friend go out every Thursday for "guys night". Which usually i go too so really it isn't guys night. anyway on top of guys night my DH has school one or two nights a week and also crap that is union mandatory for him to do. He is in an electrical apprenticeship program so he doesn't have a lot of say when they want him to go to meetings. I mentioned to him that after this baby is born that "guys night" might have to be limited. He gave me this look like i stabbed him in the heart. Says "what can't i have a life". I was like, what about my life? When he is gone i am the one taking care of the child. And really it isn't me and my social life i am worried about. I am thinking about all the time he is missing from this childs life and all he will miss. His friend has a 1 year old and always made it to "guys night", but his friend doesn't have school and union crap to deal with. I think in the end, he will come to his senses. Just needs to grow up a little.

Stephanie-- Thanks for your understanding. I think he would stay if I were in labor but if it was either before or right after, he would go. I guess I won't stop him. Who knows, she may hang on for 2 days, 2 weeks, or 2 months!

SD -- Good advice! I will ask him that and let him choose what to do.

Chris -- Thank you. His grandma was important to him in childhood but honestly, since she's been diagnosed with Alzheimers and doesn't recognize anyone, he hasn't shown any interest in seeing her or even calling or sending cards. I do all that. He says it's because he doesn't want to remember her like that. His mother went there today. I told him he should call in to work and go with her and come back late tonight. It's a 6 hr drive each way. He said "don't be ridiculous". Okay... I won't!

AFM -- Blood pressure is 148/102 and I have a mild headache and feel like crap. It won't surprise me if OB brings me in Thurs evening for an induction after my appt although I'm hoping to get through the weekend. See MFM tomorrow... will update you all then.

Oh Lou!!! You are going to meet your darling Chloe soon! So excited for you! As for DH...I'll just say "ditto" to everyone else's comments (I'm traveling on biz and on iPhone tonight).

Chris- I'm debating about what to do about guys night myself. Part of me wants to help him find a way to continue it because I like him having that time, but another part of me knows it might not be realistic with all our other demands. Good luck with that! ;-)

Lou: So sorry that things are so stressful for you so close to the end. I hope that all works out with DH....when it comes down to it, I really don’t think he’d make that choice to leave you at such a vulerable time. Hope things go well with MFM tomorrow!

Blair: Glad that things are going well and you are keeping up your PMA. I also have low BP “normally” and am on Procardia 4X a day now....maybe I should keep an eye on that.

Ryann: I am sure it is really hard to be away from your two sweeties....hoping it gets better with time.

Alisa: I don’t think I congratulated you on Team Pink!! Yeah!! Picture of you guys was sweet. Hope that your garage sale went well!

Mamboo: Wow...one week ahead. Great growing! And so cool you decided to go for the “shared” birthday.

Gina: Sorry about the health issues with Will and Wyatt, but glad to hear you have good and responsive medical team. Hope things come back well on the u/s. Sending prayers.

Chris: Sounds like you have things ready! Green is a great color, and I am a big “Pooh” fan too. We have girl/boy Pooh bedding.

Rio: How is your recovery coming? We haven’t had cable in years and finally DH went out and got it since they were running a really great deal...wow...I forgot how much tv there is to watch! I am going to try to catch the baby story so many people have been talking about. And I bet that mom with quads had a lot of help! ;-) You are awesome!

Kelley: Yippee for bringing the babies home! Can't wait for those photos!

Barbara: So happy to hear that Brooke is a great sleeper! Hope I have one or two of those. ;-)

SD: How are YOU feeling?

Mellow: I am sure you have a lot on your plate. Are you still planning to move soon? I love the “striking a pose” picture of Marlo spreading out. She is such a doll baby! And looks so happy stretching out--I am sure she is so happy to be home.

AFM: My MFM appt went well last week. Both babies are growing well and cervix is still fairly long. However I am still have a LOT of contractions so my OB put me on Procardia every 6 hours. It helps slow them down, but doesn’t completely make them stop. I still awaken with contractions during the night. So I am on house arrest--”take it easy” plan. He says I will be on it until 34 weeks and then they wouldn't stop anything anymore! I have also decided to call my feet-Fiona Feet. After the girl Shrek? (They are HUGE). Anyway, I am almost 31 weeks--so that is the good news! I am seeing OB weekly and after yesterday--both babies are now transverse, so not sure if we are going to be able to do vaginal delivery. Hoping Baby A (Baby Girl) at least turns back down.

margie- thanks for asking, I'd say I'm so-so. Can't really complain about much but somehow do anyway ;) work has slowed down, I only have 2 weeks left and then I reduce to 20 hr/week-- yeah! My midwife thinks I've dropped and that the babe will be here early. I'm trying not to think about that since it will make the last 6 weeks seem like an eternity if I don't go early. I'm glad you are enjoying cable, I love the baby story and totally wish I could join you in the fun!

Chris- "guy night" ! I think I'd only go for that if there was an exchange of "guy clean the house night" too, then we might be able to work something out, LOL! I totally relate to your situation!

Lou.......Thinking of you and hoping that DH stays with you for the birth of Chloe. I'm sure that once you get the news of induction from your dr that DH will want to stay and it will not even be an issue. I hope you things go well for you tomorrow. Good luck. You're going to do great!

Blair- So glad to hear things are going well. Has your husband snuck you in some good food yet?

Mellow- Congrats on bringing Marlo home. I;m so happy for you.

Mamaboo- That's great everything is going well. That's will be so cool if they end up being born on the same day considering they were conceived the same day yet born 2 years apart.

Lou- Thinking of you and I'm so sorry about your husbands' Grandmother :( I'm really sorry as well that her impending death has caused you more stress and tension between your husband and you. Probably not helping your blood pressure at all, I wonder if he realizes this? I hope your husband has a change of heart and decides being there for his childs birth is a little more important right now.

Margi- Glad to hear you and the baby's are doing well. So sorry about the Shrek feet. Make sure you keep your feet up as much as possible!! I know easier said then done.

Ryann- Aww my heart is breaking for you that you need to leave your little ones while your at school. :( It is so hard at the beginning. I remember when I started putting Ty in preschool for a few hours a day just so he could interact and learn stuff and I would cry because he would cry and then I would go pick him up and he wouldn't want to leave;)

AFM: My MFM appointment went well today. Lucas has put on 7 ounces in 3 weeks and know weighs about 1lb 8 ounces. He has of course decided to flip around and is now breech. I actually had some pain on Monday night that was this burning strecthing feeeling and my stomach was hardening and twisting that after 5 minutes of it I almost called the doctors but said I'll give it another 5 minutes and it stopped. I'm wondering now if that was him turning around. Crazy. She mentioned possibly switching me to heparin eventually because if for some reason I go into labor before c-section I would have to be put to sleep if I'm on the lovenox. But we decided for now sicne my c-section is scheduled for 36 weeks anyways that I should continue Lovenox and stop it Saturday before my surgery. The DF picked up the baby crib, rocking chair and one of the bureaus last night. This weekend I'm going to go shopping for a rug and curtains for the baby's room and I need to order the changing table soon. I might wait till after my shower for that though.

Hope everyone is doing well and sorry if I missed anyone.

Kat- Thanks for thinking of us. My husband and mom have both been nice enough to bring me some good food. You dont realize how much flavor food is supposed to have until they take it all away and serve very bland food for every meal. As for the Lovenox they actually switched me to Heparin a few days after I was here just in case I went into labor- same reason they want to switch you. I will say the heparin is so much easier and much less burning. Sounds like the nursery will start coming together in no time- cant wait to see pics.

Margi- Yea with the Procardia they wont even give it to me until they take my blood pressure to make sure its high enough (anything over 90/60). If its not they usually hold the dose until it goes up high enough. I was having a lot fo problems with it being high enough...and then the realized that the cuff they were using was actually too big for my arm and was making my pressure look lower than it really was. I dont feel like the Procardia helps that much either but at this point Im just doing whatever they recommend. Congrats on 31 wks!!!! All my doctors keep saying 32 wks is a huge milestone and your getting very very close.

Lou- You are getting sooooo close to meeting baby Chloe!! Like everyone else has said- Im sorry DH is causing trouble right now but im sure he will eventually realize how silly it all is and make sure hes there to meet Chloe.

Stephanie- At this point its going to be very weird once I get back home. On the plus side its staying clean since we arent there to make it messy. I guess I may be nesting in the hospital.

Mamaboo- So glad to hear that the baby is measuring a week ahead- sounds like hes healthy and doing well. It would be crazy to have twins born 2 years apart.

Ryann- Im sorry you ended up crying at your first day back but I would assume it happpens to everyone. I am sure it was beyond hard to leave those adorable little ones behind.

Bliss- Glad to hear you ended up going out to get that pink and purple. Did you all decide on a nursery theme yet?

AFM- Had another spell on frequent contractions every 6 min for about 3 hours. They checked me again (feel like ive been checked more the past 2 wks than some people are their entire pregnancy) and things hadnt changed much more than last time- so good news there. They gave me some meds and luckily they slowed down overnight. Of course they are back today and if they get close again I have to let them know. Other than that nothing much going on. Hope everyone is doing well and sorry if i missed anyone.

Lou,
For some unknown reason I couldn't PM. The messages just stuck in the outbox didn't go so I will just post here.
I'm so excited for you that you are going to meet your little Chloe soon!!! I can't wait to see her pictures! I'm sure everything will be fine and DH will stay with you for the delivery.
I have been following you online and very happy for you that finally you are going to meet your miracle. I know it took us long to get where we are right now.
For everyone else on the board, please know that I know and love each one of you because I visited the board everyday. :D
Just so you know that I'm almost 6 month pregnant myself with a baby girl. I didn't go to Colorado at the end. Instead I decided to try one more time with Dr. Sherbahn at Advanced fertility center. Boy that's the best decision I made in my life. And here I am -- 6 months with a girl. I am so happy.
God bless you and your little miracle.
Take care.
Love,

non stop dizziness and vomit in 1st trimester

Post by yingz »

Ryann, I am Yingz. I have been posted a couple of times on the board but most of time just lurking around. I have been following the Beautiful babies born in 2011 board from the beginning. And I love your twins!
I have a question and hope you may have some answers. If everyone else on the board knows something about it please let me know. I appreciate it!!!
My sister and I are both pregnant now. She is just at 7 weeks and got extreme dizziness and vomit violently. Her dizziness seems happen no matter whether laying down, sitting or standing or whatever she does. She even fainted once at home at 5.5 weeks. Her OB doesn't seem helpful too much -- not good at returning her calls either. I told her to find another OB who cares about her more.
Anyway I remember you had experienced these symptoms in your first trimester, correct?
Was your OB ever able to give you an explanation of that and how was it resolved at the end?
It's so hard for me to see her suffer. :(
Thanks!

Bliss -- Yes!!! We will meet her soon. MFM says "next week" for sure!

Margi -- Thanks hun. I've now got Fiona feet too! I need cardboard boxes for shoes. With pre-e I've gained 15 lbs of fluid in the past week. Ugh!

karin1-- Thank you. I'm thinking his grandma will hang on longer than we think. At least I hope.

Kat -- Thank you. She's nearly 99 years old so it's not a surprise. Glad your MFM appt went well and that Lucas is growing as he should.

Blair -- Sorry about the contractions but glad they got them to stop with meds. Can they restart the meds since they've returned?

Yingz -- Congrats on your baby girl! I remembered we were from the same clinic and I've wondered what has happened to you since your FET that wasn't. I'm so happy you've had success! You should stick around and post instead of just read! Thanks for your post. :D

AFM -- MFM said Chloe looked great. He measured her at 6 lb 11 oz and said amniotic fluid levels and blood flow were good. BUT... My pre-e isn't good. It's considered mild at this point and he recommends delivery within a week. I had blood drawn today to check kidney and liver function and also turned in a 24 hr urine for protein. I'll get those results tomorrow when I see OB. He said it can progress quickly and I have to watch for symptoms and get to the hospital if I have them. I see OB tomorrow and I'm going to ask if I can go the weekend and come back on Monday, unless I have worsening symptoms. DH's parents are out of town, his mom is with grandma but is coming back this weekend unless she passes. His dad is closing up their summer home and is coming home Saturday evening. My aunt and her family are out of town as well on vacation for my uncles birthday and are due to come home Sunday. My two best friends are also out of state on vacations and returning this weekend. I just imagined that these people would be around. If I can make it safely until Monday, that is my goal. Fingers crossed! I'll update tomorrow with what OB says.
