Wow, I'm gone for almost one day and come back to all this excitement of our first BFP! :D
SunshineandStars- Congratulations on your pregnancy! it's nice to have someone to share with when we cannot tell others. Here you secret is safe with us and we get to follow you throughout this journey every baby step of the way! :D

Akdelp,
(If you don't mind me asking, how did you come up with your unique name? :D ) I wanted to tell you Congratulations on being PUPO and I'm here cheering you onto your upcoming BFP!

Becca,
That's a excellent fertization rate! Sounds like you have some embryos brewing and will be plenty to freeze for sibblings later on. Congratulations on a successful retrievel, and did you decide on a 3 day or 5 day trransfer?

fvrogers,
ou are too funny holding out with a full bladder until you got home. I would of been like dh pull off the curb, I really gotta go! Congratulations on being PUPO and I love that you only have a one week wait!

WeHaveHope,
How exciting, :D only ONE week until your frosties snuggle in and come home and I promise to pray for you too. I must make a prayer list every week so I don't miss anyone!

AFM: Hooray....I got to speak to a nurse today!!!! We have our next Thyroid check on Oct 1oth and then a consultation with my RE on that Wednesday, 10/12 to go over my lab results giving me either the green light or if I should hold off before cycling. I'm just excited to have a date set in place to meet with him! :D

Hi guys, we are finally back home from our trip, so I am looking forward to jumping back in and getting on here regularly now that I am not travelling. It looks like I have a lot of catching up to do! I now have a few more details regarding my own cycle. We will be doing the antagonist protocol again, though this time we will add in LH instead of doing just straight FSH. We are also hoping to attempt a day 5 transfer. I have been on BCP for about 2 weeks now (since I started bleeding after the last failed FET) and I am stopping BCP on 10/14 and with an expected stim start date of 10/17. I am actually getting pretty excited for a new chance, especially with our new doctor and new clinic, though my husband will be on army reserve duty during our upcoming cycle, which sucks. I am stressed out thinking about how I am going to fare emotionally and physically on my own this time around. It shouldn't be an issue for him to come home for the day of retrieval.

SunshineandStars - Congratulations on your great news! I am really excited for you! Wishing you a smooth and easy pregnancy that ends with a healthy child in your arms!

WeHaveHope - That's so exciting that your FET is getting so close! Many thoughts and prayers to you that both blasts thaw nicely and that you have a smooth and uneventful transfer. Thanks for sharing your beautiful picture of the sky.

fvrogers - Sounds like your transfer went great! Sending you lots of good vibes that your 2 blasts are growing, thriving, and snuggling in for the long-haul.

akdelp - Congratulations on being PUPO - so exciting! Thinking good, sticky thoughts for you!

Sunshine1576 - Feel better! Sorry to hear that you've been under the weather. I have been bleeding/spotting for 13 days now and it just sucks.

Anton - Best of luck with the job you applied for! I hope it pans out - keep us posted! Also, that is interesting about the natural IVF suggestion. I hope that it will work for you and that maybe giving your body a rest from all of the meds and manipulation of your cycle will be your golden ticket.

LauraN - Congrats on finally getting a fresh start and getting through beta hell. Best of luck with you next round!

blessed143 - Good luck getting started with this cycle. Sending you many good vibes that it will be successful!

becca5am - I am sorry for the confusion with your RE re: day 5 biopsy. In the end are they still doing the genetic testing? I don't know if it makes you feel any better, but if I had the opportunity to do genetic testing of the embryos with the trade-off of no fresh transfer, I think I would take it. If you don't totally trust your RE, maybe you could arrange to speak to the embryologist about the lab's thawing rates for some peace of mind? Thinking of you and hoping the FET will have a great outcome.

Leora - What BCP are you on? I am on Minesse and have been bleeding/spotting for 13 days :-/ I think I am going to be niddah forever…no fun at all. I hope your biopsy went well and good luck with the HSG. I hope it goes as smoothly as possible. I think we will be cycling just a few days apart - my estimated ER date is 10/30-10/31. Wishing you tons of luck with the interviews - 4 is awesome! What type of job are you looking for?

toniaa - Congratulations on a great ER - 9 embryos is awesome! I think you probably got responses on this already, but when there are quite a few embryos to choose from, letting them grow longer in vitro gives the embryologist more information on which embryos are the strongest for transfer. Also, if you lose a few in the process, that is also informative because it will spare you transferring embryos that probably didn't have a very good chance of surviving anyway. Good luck! I hope you have a great transfer!

Sun and Stars - the first BFP! Congrats! I really hope this pregnancy ends the way we all would like it to. I know how it feels to get that BFP, but know that it doesn't promise a forever-baby... big hugs and congrats!

Christy - yay for a new RE appt! I hope this stupid thyroid thing works out.

Becca - that is great! 20+ eggs is fantastic. You'll definitely have a bunch of great embryos to transfer and freeze!

Felicia - hurry for a great ET! It's so nice that your clinic will let you do your beta early-- if my beta should be on a day when the clinic is closed, they make me wait! Just 1 week and you'll know!

Rosie - welcome back! I'm sorry to hear you''ll be niddah 'forever' -- I totally relate! Since we usually don't have sex during the 2ww, on months when we are cycling, I'm usually niddah until the transfer and then we don't have sex during the 2ww -- it's tough! I'm also doing endometrial pipelle biopsies on CD10 and CD21 -- so I had some serious bleeding yesterday afterwards. Expected, but frustrating. Your clinic is letting you cycle over the chagim? That's great! Mine (Mt Scopus) will only let you do FET over the chagim (no fresh) and only with special approval. I'm such a 'veteran' that they are letting me do my cycle over the chagim. Aren't they closed on days of chag? Mine is closed also Fridays and Saturdays, so that means 3 days in a row that I can't do blood/us tests.

Maria - as always - great job being 'list mistress'! :D Only one week until your FET! How exciting!

AFM - sorry for being MIA. I've been quite a bit down recently. I'm putting on a brave face and smiling on the outside, but really I'm dying on the inside. I miss my boys SOOO much and I'm terrified that I'll put myself through so much (IVf and the stress of another pregnancy) and still have nothing.

The endo biopsy went really well. The doctor who did it is not my usual doctor, but another one I know well. She was really nice and supportive. Everyone at my clinic is really rooting for me, which is really nice.

Job interviews are going well -- I got called back for 2 of them! woohooo! Hopefully something will work out soon.

I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping. I went to my GP (who is fantastic) and he said that he doesn't like to prescribe sleeping pills for long term use because they are super addictive. So he prescribed some anti-histamines that make you sleepy/drowsy -- but it doesn't seem to be working. I went to bed at midnight last night and tossed and turned until 5am. Becuase it's the weekend, I didn't set an alarm clock and slept until 1pm. UGH. So now, on top of not sleeping well at night, I've screwed up my sleep schedule. How annoying. Hopefully, I can get back on schedule soon!

Hi there! :D

So we got our first BFP on our board!!!! Woohoo!!! What a great start!

Sunshineandstars- HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :D I am So happy for you my friend! Our first BFP on the fall board! Hope u bring luck to the rest of us honey! :D I wish you a healthy pregnancy with healthy baby/ies! I will pray for a doubling beta today!!!

Ester- I am SO happy for you! You are already 7 weeks pregnant mama! Take good care of yourself and the twins and Enjoy every minute of it!!

Felicia & Akdelp- congrats on your transfer PUPO ladies! :D How you feeling? I wish you both a BFP in two weeks! And Felicia even sooner! In 7 days honey! Can’t wait to hear the good news from both of you! :D

Tamera- Hey girl! I am glad that you are doing ok and keep yourself busy. Your BFP is getting closer and soon you will be smiling for your own BFP! :D

Wehavehope- I am definitely praying for you honey for you to get that BFP and bring home your miracle baby/ies! You’ll be PUPO next Friday and pregnant for the next 9 months! :D

Blessed143- Good Luck today honey!! :D

Becca- Ouao! You are an egg machine girl! and 24 fertilized that is awesome! :D You are definitely taking a winner or two back to home with you!! so what’s it going to be? a 3 or 5dt? Either way I wish you getting that BFP! Good Luck!!

Sunshine- I will pray your thyroid levels get to normal! This is a step closer to your BFP honey! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! :D :D ...hey! I’ve been doing some internet search and I came across this clinic called “Clear Passage” and it looks that they do wonders for infertile couples etc. And it’s in Florida. That’s why I am telling you about it. Search for it if you don’t already know about it. it looked promising and I thought I share it with you....

Leora- I am sorry you are feeling blue :( ...that sucks but I know time will bring you clarity and patience to move forward. Personally If I were you I would do exactly the same thing and move forward to make a baby. And even though you are going through emotions right now, you are doing the right thing. Whatever makes you feel better and helps you to find peace with yourself that is the right thing to do. I am glad your tests went well honey! :D One step at a time! I praying for you that this time everything will go as they should do and you get to bring home a baby! I realy realy wish that for you my friend! You need to stay positive. That is very important! I hope you get your sleep back SOON! and the job you want! ..I will pray that everything goes well for you my dear Leora! And it will! :D

Rosie- Hey you! welcome back from your trip! :D and thank you for believing in my IVF plans and my “golden ticket! Looks like you’ve got a good plan yourself honey. I am sorry that your DH will be away during your crazy hormone period....I am glad for him though  ..and he better come back on ER day! it is the Y only role in the whole procedure so he better be there! :D I wish you all the luck in world and I am sending you tons and tons of baby dust for your journey!!! :D

Toniaa- Yay for a great ER! :D I am sure there’s a winner there!!! Good luck!!!

I am sorry if I left anyone...

AFM- Last night it rained for the first time welcoming Fall/Winter! :D We left the bedroom inside windows open all night and it was awesome. Of course we woke up this morning and the sun was shining and you could smell the earth! You know! The smell the earth has after the rain. Amazing! I love that smell. Don’t think that b/c it rained we are also wearing winter clothes! I am still wearing my shorts, T-shirt and flip flops

Did some grocery shopping this morning after my “bodyrock” workout. Which is love! If you girls not familiar with it search it on the internet under “bodyrocktv” the girl that does the workout is amazing and if you really follow her schedule she can do wonders! My DH and my brother are gym/working out/marathon runner freaks! I love both their passion but I am not like them. I do work out like 3-4 times a week but I am not obsessed the way they are. I am fit, I feel fit and healthy and that is what matters to me. :D I am not obsessed not to eat my ice cream or my dark chocolate or chips. I am not saying that I eat that everyday but if I feel like it I will eat them. Thank God I feel like it only when I am about to get my period and I don’t feel guilty at all having them   . I am not into junk food in general but sometimes if I feel like it, I will eat my cheeseburger and fries and not feel guilty at all! ...tonight we feel like eating spaghetti with chicken, lemon and grated hard cheese. Mmm, smells winter and I love it!

We are watching “Hanna” tonight. Have you girls seen it? the trailer seems pretty good but then again sometimes the trailers are SO missleading...as I told you in other posts me and DH we are very into watching sitcoms and so far we are up to date with “Dexter” (I LOVE IT! ), “House MD” “Weeds” “Modern Family” so until the new episodes are on we have watched the past two nights a) “Breaking Bad” (after Sunshine recommended it :D ) we have seen just the 1st episode so I cant realy say that I liked it  ...i wasn’t thrilled, but I am open to like the following episodes...(b) “The Good Wife” which we have seen 2 episodes and I am on it!. that’s it girls for now :D I am just waiting for my AF to arrive October 10th approx... and then decide with DH if we are starting the natural IVF cycle right after. I am cautiously optimistic about it and I can’t wait to start the procedure!

...sorry for the long post!!!! I got carried away!!!!! also sorry for no blinkies and smilies! there's something wrong with my photobucket site and I just cant copy any! :( I hope it gets fixed SOON! i love smilies! they bring life to this board and it seems that wehavehope is doing a great job here!! :D :D :D

Baby dust to us all!!!! We got our first BFP on the board and this like the best sign ever for our cycles!! :D

hello everyone!

congrats on our first BFP! that's awesome.

Anton - i love reading your stories. this morning driving into work i was thinking about your house in Cypress and the smell after the rain you were talking about - that made me miss my childhood in russia. it also smelled that good there. here where i am now there is so much pavement that the earth doesnt smell too diferent after rain. maybe we should go to Yosemite soon. get out in nature a bit. your story definitely made me want to plan a trip into nature soon. the only thing that's stopping us is the 6 hour drive to yosemite from san diego. we used to do it no problem by ourselves. but now with a 1.5 year old - i dont know how to do it. i dont think he can keep still for that long. maybe we'll leave after 7pm when he goes to sleep and get tehre at 1am. or maybe we'll go to a place closer to us. there is a place in the mountains 2 hours away - idylwild. maybe we should plan a atrip there.

I am just following everyone on this board and living vicariously through you guys. i dont get to start my BCPs until november. such bummer! the doc definitely wants me to take 1 month off. and my AF from this cycle hasnt even shown up yet. so i have to wait for this AF first, then skip october and then i get to start in november. but at least we get to try on our own in october - for whatever that's worth. one time we did get a chemical on our own.

Anyway - my stims, ER and ET will be in December. Winter board anyone? :) i cant believe this chemical/miscarriage - whatever you want to call it - made me skip the whole fall. OMG. this stuff takes too long!!!!!! well the december ER/ET will be right around my 40th birthday - so here is hoping that will be good luck!!!

i am following you guys and the action is ramping up! how exciting! congrats to our PUPO girls - akdelp and Felicia. i am waiting for your BFPs!

Lyd-I am so happy to hear from you. November will be here very soon. I thought my next FET was never going to get here but it's going to be next week already. So, yours will be here in a blink of an eye.

Winter Board??? I've been thinking about that. Maybe, we can turn the Fall Board into the Fall/Winter Board Combined. How does everyone feel about that?

WeHaveHope - Thanks for the support and well wishes. As always your encouragement means a lot!! That is a great idea about a Fall/Winter board ! There are a few ladies that I think will straddle the official Fall/Winter time anyways!

Becca5m - That is awesome :o!!! I had 26 eggs on retrieval as well, but only 15 fertilized. You are doing just great!! That fertilization rate is something to be proud of!! When will you get your next update? When will you transfer?

Sunshine1576 - I am so happy you finally got to speak to a nurse. There were so many questions that needed answering. I hope that time flies until Oct 12th when you have your appointment. I had no choice but to make it home with my full bladder since I was driving myself. I was trying to beat the Valium before it kicked in. But that was the longest 5min drive of my life  !!

Fruit - I know, I am so excited that I only have a 1ww. Hopefully that means there will be good news! Thanks for your support and encouragement!!

Rosie84 - Sounds great that you guys are gearing up for another cycle. I know how hard it is to stim without DH. My DH was not here for part of my last cycle up through my BFN and he was not here for my FET either. He is a military contractor and is overseas until Oct 2nd. That would be great if he could be there for your retrieval!! Thanks for the encouragement!

Leora - I am sending hugs and support. I know how hard it can be to pick back up when you are feeling down. Hopefully the endo biopsy will create a nice place for your embies with this upcomming transfers. I have trouble sleeping on and off and try to stay away from prescription sleep aides. I started taking Melatonin a few months ago and I find it really does help. You may want to give that try. I take 5mg and can usually fall alseep within an hour of taking it. I find if I take it everynight, by the 5th night or so they are not as effective so I usually just take it twice a week or so. It helps to regulate your sleep cycle. After taking it for a little while you may not need it at all. Melatonin is usually sold with herbal supplements.

Anton - Thanks for the support!! I saw Hanna when it was in the theaters, I LOVED it!!! It also has an awesome soundtrack. The music that played throughout the movie added to the suspense. It was one of those unpredictable movies that you had no idea how it was going to end. Let me know what you think of it!!

Lyd10 - So good to see you hun. You will start cycling before you know it. Just take the time to rest and relax if you can with DS running around! Funny joke about car trips with kids - my parents used to wait until night to drive with me and my younger brother and if we were not asleep, my mom now admits she would sneak us a few drops of Bendryl. Just enough to knock us out for a while! Not that I recommend it, but I always think it is so funny because I have always wondered why I never remember any of out cross country road trips. I just remember leaving and getting there.

AFM - Just lounging around. Going from bed to couch and back to bed with pineapple in hand. The progesterone constipation has started, so my prunes are on my night . I did sneak out and go to the library and post office but came right back home. I am busy planning my trip with DH. We are starting to get excited. We got a great deal on opera tickets and will be going to see Aidia!! I also booked our stay at the resort and we are going to do a tour of Monticell (Thomas Jefferson's home) - DH is a HUGE history buff!! I am also trying to get tickets for a piano concerto the night of the 4th, but all the good seats are gone so i will keep looking!

We - I am praying all goes well for you. the 30th will be here before you know it!!! Will you POAS before your BETA? Your grading is totally different than our clinic so I am not too sure what 2BB and such is....? We have Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor and then they tell you Expanded Blast, Blast, Cleveage, Mourla...

LauraN - Yes, I am on PIO shots and estrace pills 3x a day. The PIO makes me lose weight!! Wierd stuff. Lost 7 punds since this past saturday. They are not concerned about it.

Sunshine - My name is my husband's first initial, my first initial and our last name. Now you all know my last name! :D I really don't mind. :)

Moorebaby - How are you doing?? Thanks for crashing!

AFM - Thank you so much for all the "cheers". Finally decided to drag myself out of bed. Pretty sleepy, think it's my cold. I must say I feel nothing at all, nothing like I did with the first one. I will take that as a good sign since last time was not so good! :) BETA is Monday, Oct 3rd. Haven't decided if I want to POAS or not with this one. The very small part of me that wants too is only because I will be at work when I get the news. Don't know if I could bear hearing bad news at work so being prepared is very appealing to me! Last time I started POAS on 5dpt and got a positive. Hum.....we will see!

Akdelp-yes, iv ear that some labs use other grading methods. I actualy found some pretty good infor in the method that my lab uses. This is what we will be transferring. Keep in mind, the photos below are not of my actual embies but they should have looked something like the photos when frozen.

Blastocyst development and stage status
1 Blastocoel cavity less than half the volume of the embryo
2 Blastocoel cavity more than half the volume of the embryo
3 Full blastocyst, cavity completely filling the embryo
4 Expanded blastocyst, cavity larger than the embryo, with thinning of the shell
5 Hatching out of the shell
6 Hatched out of the shell

ICM grade
Inner cell mass quality

A Many cells, tightly packed
B Several cells, loosely grouped
C Very few cells

TE grade
Trophectoderm quality

A Many cells, forming a cohesive layer
B Few cells, forming a loose epithelium
C Very few large cells

Large, well expanded blastocyst grading images:

4AB
Well expanded = 4
Inner cell mass = A
Trophectoderm = B

Intermediate blastocyst grading pictures:

2BB
Cavity > 1/2 embryo's volume = 2
