Ive been on a long much needed break for the last 6 months. DH and I recently decided to try again and I saw my IVF doc yesterday. We discussed how many of our 5 frozen blasts we would transfer on this upcoming FET. I have 1 5AA 1 5AB 2 4AA 1 4AB. Im 38 years old and my doc said for my age they would transfer 3 but at these grades would you transfer that many or just transfer 2 of the highest grade? I mean would you split up the grade 5's? My first fresh cycle I transferred 1 4AA and 1 4AB and got pregnant with twins and lost one at 7 weeks and then lost Aimee at 4 months old after being born at 25 weeks gestation. Like everyone I just want a safe healthy full term pregnancy. What do you guys think?
Id just like to have some advice/feedback please.

There are many grading systems. I'm not sure how to interpret the 4 and 5, although I am pretty sure it's an index of the degree of expansion. I presume the first letter is an ICM grade and the second letter is a trophectoderm grade. That's common. If so, then the letters are probably more important than the numbers.
My clinic would not transfer more than 2. The others will still be there if you need to use them.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
Yes the 5 is the Blastocyst development stage - expansion and hatching status, with 5 being Hatching out of the shell
Yes, The first is the Inner cell mass (ICM) score, or quality
Yes, The second letter is the Trophectoderm (TE) score, or quality
So your clinic would transfer 2. But would you transfer the best quality 2? or would you split them up between 2 cycles? Or do you even think that would make a difference?
Thanks,
Heather

One or two.
What are your clinic's success rates? If their rates are really good, then that would support transferring one blast at a time.

25.8% for an average of 2 frozen embryos transferred.

Heather -- Do you really want to avoid twins again? I personally didn't and do not wish for twins for myself. Just a whole nother set of worries. If it were me, I would transfer the 5AA blast. That's a great quality blast. If that didn't work, then I would consider transferring two on the next FET. I've seen many women with hatching blasts get pregnant on an FET with just one. If twins is what you hope for, then I would transfer the two best. Good luck!

Back then I dont think I would have had a good twin pregnancy. However now after being on these boards and reading and reading and reading.... lol Ive gotten healthy and lost weight, not to mention Ive been off insulin for over 9 months now. Ive changed so many things in preparation for this FET. But in reality I know that you can never be prepared for everything! DH and I are leaning towards transferring a 5aa and 4aa. My FET last December was 1 4AB and it was BFN.
PS.. Sorry to read about your DH grandmother! Im also very excited for your delivery of your precious little girl on Wednesday! Cant wait to see pictures!
Thanks for your input and good luck!!

There is no wrong answer here. If you and dh agree, then that's what you should do. I really hope you get your BFP this time.
I will certainly post pics as soon as I can when this baby girl arrives! We're so excited. I wish it weren't dampened by dh being sad about losing his grandma though.
