Lyd10 - My doc prescribed bed or couch rest with feet elevated for 24 hrs. Light activity such as going to the bathroom or getting up to get something to eat is allowed. After the first 24 hrs you may move around and go out, but no lifting, exercise or any type of exertion is allowed for 48 hrs.

Hi everybody

I'm new to this board but have been on and off of various boards since Jan 2010. I recognise a few names :)

I had a 3-day ET on Thurs with a one 8 cell and one 10 cell embryo so I've got fingers, toes, and everything crossed that there will be a baby or two on the way. My DH and I have a 1:4 chance of our babies being affected by Meckel-Gruber syndrome, an unsurvivable genetic disorder. Testing is very difficult and extremely expensive so we're taking our chances. My beta is on the 3rd Oct. One week and a bit to go although I'll probably POAS next Saturday.

Leora - Hello :D You are an amazing lady and I'm so glad to read that you're scheduled to have an FET next month. I know how hard it was when DH and I lost our baby boy. The pain never really goes away. It just becomes tolerable. You're incredibly strong and I really do wish you all the very best for your next FET. You have been a mummy 4 x already but it's now time for you to have a full-term pregnancy with a baby or two. How many frosties are you planning on transferring?

Anton - great to see that you're still bubbling with enthusiasm and trying again shortly. You are also an amazingly strong lady. Your positive will come. :)

I haven't caught up with everybody else's news but will soon.

Congratulations on being PUPO. I can't wait to hear about your positive Beta. The Fall Board is going to bring us many miracles. We already have our first positice Beta on this board. It is sure to bring us good luck. Welcome again. I hope to get to know you better. Praying for that positive Beta and a happy healthy baby for you.

Leora-- I totally get the not sleeping part and the grief part. :( It seems strange to write this here, but just receiving the news about our pregnancy triggered a bunch of grief-- I know that sounds like we are not grateful-- and we are so thankful for this bit of good news, but it's like I am waiting for the rug to get pulled out from under our feet... I pray that you will be at peace-- heck, I pray that we all will be at peace :)

AFM-- well, I pretty much said it above. I am scared. I am elated. I feel like I am going out of my mind. We got our second beta today-- it was 211, which means that it doubled from the 75 (hurrah), but we are still very, very cautious...and I am a positive thinker...LOL. The reason is because my pregnancy with my angel son had high betas-- the first was 586 or something-- and the second was around 1446. I know that every pregnancy is different and that this was a blastocyst transfer (which is remarkable in and of itself) but still...The nurse told me that I could come in on Monday for another test...to help me get through this. The ultrasound is Oct 13th, and they will be looking for a heartbeat.

It didn't help that I discovered some stupid abstract on the net that said that beta levels < 300 on day 16 after 5 day transfer didn't bode too well. Yikes. I hope that I am totally wrong and misunderstanding. Positive thoughts, positive thoughts.

Please don't think that I am ungrateful for the BFP. I know that we beat the odds. It's just that we lost my son in April and there is still pain and sorrow and fear, etc, etc. COURAGE-- WE NEED COURAGE-- JUST TO APPRECIATE THIS JOURNEY DAY BY DAY.

Sorry for the rant. :|

[quote="rosie84"]Hi guys, we are finally back home from our trip, so I am looking forward to jumping back in and getting on here regularly now that I am not travelling. It looks like I have a lot of catching up to do! I now have a few more details regarding my own cycle. We will be doing the antagonist protocol again, though this time we will add in LH instead of doing just straight FSH. We are also hoping to attempt a day 5 transfer. I have been on BCP for about 2 weeks now (since I started bleeding after the last failed FET) and I am stopping BCP on 10/14 and with an expected stim start date of 10/17. I am actually getting pretty excited for a new chance, especially with our new doctor and new clinic, though my husband will be on army reserve duty during our upcoming cycle, which sucks. I am stressed out thinking about how I am going to fare emotionally and physically on my own this time around. It shouldn't be an issue for him to come home for the day of retrieval.

Rosie, can you elaborate what you mean by adding LH to FSH, are you talking about how the meds control your levels?
Anyway I also tried the antagonist protocol and thought we got the best results ever with our follicle growth. So many we almost had to cancel the IUI, or convert it to an IVF. I kind of wish we had now converted, knowing what I know now. Anyway I will be praying for you and your dh as he is overseas during this time.

Sunshine and Stars, I know you are grateful to be pregnant and the worry never ends. I know I would the same way if we ever become pregnant again but all we can do is take this one day at a time and keep on praying. :D

Felicia, my husband is also a huge history buff, lectures at our local state college in history and political science you know all that boring stuff. I would love tickets to a piano concert, when we lived in Georgia we often received information on concerts to the Rome Symphony Orchestra. lol as I type this I cannot help but think of our Leorira. :D

adkelp, That's quite alright your name is safe with us. :D It took me almost a year before I would even post pictures on here, but I'm much more secretive on facebook about this journey. I know what you mean though about poas, I had to poas before I went because I knew a 2.5 commute back home would be the longest ever. It's always best to prepare yourself when you can, but I do pray this is your time!

Anton, Thanks for sharing with me the info on the fertility clinic in Florida. I think our next big step will be the IVF Attain Program after we get the thyroid under control . Our doctor might recommend one more IUI?, since we've only had one with him so far, hard to say...But I always like to research other clinics whenever I can. BTW, we watched another episode of Breaking Bad tonight and although it had a high rating on reviews I can barely stomach it. Walts, (the main character) has terminal lung cancer and to raise 90,000 for his treatment he gets involved in cooking meth. I thought Weeds was twisted but this is crooked. A MUCH better show I got really hooked on this last summer (waiting on the next season with NetFlix) is called Damages. If you like Law and Order you will love Damages.

We, I like your idea of combining the Fall with Winter Board since several won't be really cycling until closer to Thanksgiving, but either way I'm staying put to cheer everyone on to their BFP!

AFM: I've been working on invites tonight for our Fall Gathering Party next Saturday night with all my neighbors. I don't have a printer yet so I hand designed them but they turned out really cute. Right now I better get ready for work in the morning and then tomorrow night we have some friends coming over for dinner. Taught dh how to make delicious pot roast so Im leaving him with the cooking. :D

Tess69 - Welcome to our group where will BPFs will be all around!!! I can relate to TTC with a genetic disorder. My DH and I both carry the Sickle Cell trait and have a 1 in 4 chance of having a child with Sickle Cell disease. We decided to do PGD with our IVF cycles to test our embryos and only transfer those that were Sickle Cell free. I will say a prayer that you get your BFP and have a healthy little one on the way soon!

Sunshine and Stars - Feel free to rant whenever you want! Your feelings and fear are valid, I think we are all cautiously optimistic when we have had disappointments in the past. I will pray that your little bean continues to grow healthy and strong and that you and DH find the courage to enjoy your BFP blessing!

Sunshine1576 - I have to admit that I am a bit of a history lover myself. DH is worse than me, but I do get a kick out of touring old homes and such. We both love the symphony and opera - in another life DH was a pianist for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, so he is really a music critic more than anything. In terms of boring lectures, I think my DH has yours beat - he lectures on Aerospace Engineering Organization and Management - just saying it makes be sleepy!!

Hey Everyone! I hope that everyone is doing well.. I thought that I had posted a reply last night before bed but I cant find it anywhere..... So I am sorry if I am short on the personals!!! I spent 6 hours driving yesterday to and from RE. I am so glad and it was so worth it.... I started lupron this morning, bcp stop next saturday, and when af comes its 18 days from there to do the FET! I am so excited. I am getting nervous, could not really sleep. GOt up early to give myself the lupron injection. :D not too thrilled with shots but I will do it, kinda just looked at it for awhile. I am glad that I have this safe place to come and talk to you ladies and get support.... Support is so needed... I love DH but I think that he is clueless when it comes to this... but love him! I hope you all are doing well and enjoying a weekend!!! I will catch up on personals tonight, I have a lot to read... still would like to know what happened to the post last night.... guess its lost in the internet! :D

LYD10 - They put right in our discharge insturctions - Bed rest, only to get up to go to the restroom for 24 hours. Have someone prepare your meals for you, do not do it yourself. After that, no exercise or lifting anything over 8 pounds (a gallon of milk), no laundry, no dusting, no vaccuming...nothing, until BETA. So, in other words DH gets to do it all!!!! Enjoying every minute of it!!! :D

We- Thanks for sharing! I think I really like your lab's grading better! I know ours is MUCH more simple, but I rather be well educated! Amazing!

Sunshine - Thanks. 2.5 hour drive! Yikes! And I thought my 35 minutes was bad. I agree, this is it for me! Yeah, I don't say anything at all on Facebook about this...I don't say much anyway... :D A FALL Gathering, I love it!!! Fall is my favorite time of year. We usually have a pumpkin carving party at our house but won't this year because of my FET. A lot of work and I just need to focus on this. But I do love a good get together! Good luck planning and have fun! I am so jealous! ;)

fvrogers- so lucky you get BETA sooner than me!!!!!

AFM - just waiting...DH said he's torn about me POAS. He said he would hate for the stick to be wrong and me get even more worried/upset. I think I much rather be prepared....Anyway - baby dust to all!!
FET #1, #2 - M/C
FET #3 - @ 7 weeks
FET # 4 - Canceled. Hysoroscopy and DnC
FET# 5 - coming soon! November 2012 or so.

Akdelp-your very welcome. I also like the grading system that this lab uses. It's very detailed and provides alot of information. Being a nurse has made me ask lots of questions and always want lots of details. I know how you feel about feeling like you want to be prepared. I POAS with my last BFN and although it was the news was devastating, I did feel like I was prepared. I received the call while I was at work and I already knew in my heart what the news was going to be. I am praying for a BFP for you. This is going to be it for you.

Blessed - Good luck to you as this cycle gets rolling!

Sunshine - To elaborate on what I meant about adding in some LH in addition to FSH, in the past with the antagonist protocol, I have stimmed on straight FSH (Gonal-F in my case). My E2 plateaued, though, towards the end of stimming and I stopped responding well. My RE is hoping that adding in some LH (Luveris) along with the Gonal-F while I stim will help with the final maturation of the follicles. I think some REs add in LH by default for the antagonist protocol and some REs prefer to start with just FSH. Also, my understanding is that the stim drugs that are not recombinant and therefore naturally derived, like Menopur, are a mixture of both FSH in LH, so in that case, you are already getting the LH.

Sunshine and Stars - Thinking of you and rooting for you that everything will turn out wonderfully with this pregnancy.

Tess - Good to "meet" you :) Sending you lots of good vibes during the 2ww for a great outcome.

Leora - Sent you a message but I just wanted to say good luck as you continue with the interview process! I hope something pans out for you that you are happy with and excited about.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. I wish I could take credit for the large egg count, but we are using a donor. I am over 40 and my poor eggs just weren't up to par. So after 2 tries, we switched to DE. This is our 3rd different donor.

I got an update today from the clinic. All 24 of the fertilized eggs are still going strong. They biopsied all 24 today and we will get the results of that testing on day 5. We will then freeze the embies and I have to wait for AF to start. Again, very disappointed that we are unable to do a fresh transfer, because of the confusion, but I'm trying not to let it get us down. I'm very pleased with the numbers we have this time.

Someone here suggested that I ask the clinic for their thaw rates. They told me they have 40% positive pregnancy rate with FET. Is that good?
