Lou: Sorry to hear about the loss, but so glad that DH made the "right" decision..and wow, Tuesday is so close! So excited for you to meet Chloe! Take it easy this weekend--your life is going to change forever next week!! :D hope all goes well...what time do you go in?
We have to be there at 6pm. They'll give me cervidil that evening and start the pitocin in the morning. The 2 OB's in the practice literally argued over who was going to deliver me. The one I've known the longest and who did my surgery last december won. She wanted sunday evening but the L&D unit was booked for inductions already. She couldn't do it monday so she moved around her schedule to be there for me tuesday into wednesday. Let the contractions begin! Gosh I hope they aren't too painful! I do plan on an epidural though.

Lou, so sorry to hear about your loss. However, I'm glad DH has decided that it's more important being there for you and the birth of your daughter. I've done a lot of research recently on the effects of Pitocin on the body and even learned in my Bradley Method class that Pitocin brings on intense contractions, so most women end up getting an epidural. I'm glad you're open to receiving an epidural because chances are you're going to need it. Don't mean to scare you, but I believe labor has more to do with how you mentally prepare for it. So go in with the mindset that it's going to hurt, but don't psyche yourself out over it. If you can handle the pain, great. If not, the epidural is just a few mins away. I can't believe you're going to meet Chloe in a matter of five days! Wishing you a complications-free labor and delivery!

Yingz _ thank you for the compliment. Also congrats on your pregnancy/little girl. Join us on this board so we can follow your progress as well.

Blair - yes, when the babies are little you can have them share lots of things. We also place them in a vibrating bouncer that reclines all the way back together. Being next to each other really relaxes and calms both of them. I think they sleep better that way as well but I am afraid to put them that way when we sleep at night. Although we would get more sleep. Great relaxation for them but we keep an eye on them all the time so they don't shift positions.

Ashley - Sounds like you are starting to progress. My first OB cervical check was my last, as I went into labor that night.

Lou - Sorry to hear about your DH grandmother - give him our sympathy. I am so glad that he is staying with you - you do not need to be alone at this time. I know you will miss his family being there for the birth but you will also be very tired afterwards and I found the day that I was in the hospital without company (just DH and I) was the most relaxing and enjoyable day. I also loved that my DH and I spent the first 3 days at home with the babies by ourselves. It gave us time to bond and figure out our parenting plan without the input of others. I hope everything goes well. Also I rec'd pitocin. I did not find it too bad, although I had an epidural. I highly recommend the epidural, I had a fairly easy labor with minimal pain due to the epidural I am sure. I did not have pain when they placed it either - nothing to worry about. Good luck and I ditto Ashley - on a complication free delivery.

Ryann - Thank you for the input. I should watch what I wish for with more wake time. Hunter has decided that he does not like to sleep in bassinet anymore the last 2 nights and wants to be held or in vibrating chair - neither of which allow me to sleep. So one of us does not sleep - he always wins. Enjoy your weekend with the babies.

Margi - I hope things are going well and the swelling is not getting worse (and getting better if possible). Just keep baking away and soon you will forget about all the troubles you have had with the pregnancy. You are a strong woman, just a little bit longer.

AFM - Getting baby furniture today. Ordered it on July 4th weekend. They promised 8 weeks at the very longest. It finally came in this week. So working on the nursery this weekend.
Also the Ella weighs 5pound 1ounce, and Hunter is 4 pounds 11ounces. They are both gaining well since coming home from hospital (about 10 ounces each). I rented a baby scale for the first month on recommendation of my lactation consultant. It has been very helpful and reassuring. Would recommend to other twin moms (as it is hard to get out for weight checks elsewhere) and anyone else that is worried about their babies weight gain. It is about $70 for the month but I got the one that measures down to grams and does pre/post feed weights. They also had one that was only $35 but not quite as specific. I rented it at one of the nicer baby stores.

Sdtrying,
I read your list in great detail but noticed there weren't any snacks listed? Also what about a mediation CD such as Celion Dion "Miracle" to listen to. Maybe a deck of cards if you and dh play card games? Maybe an extra blanket/pillow for dh in case he wants to nap, maybe an extra pair of socks to keep your feet nice and warm. I know sometimes the hospital provides these things but you should be comfortable. :D Anyway I loved your list and someday will be borrowing it! Sounds like you and Lou are only days apart... I look forward to "meeting" these sweet babies! :D

Thanks for the suggestions sunshine! Can't wait to be able to share pics. Lou is going to be induced Tuesday so I'll probably be 4 weeks or so behind but I wouldn't mind babe coming anytime after 37 weeks!

I don't know what to do. My stomach feels like it is hollow. I want to eat all the time. The problem is I have GD and cannot eat whatever I want whenever I want it. I am sick and tired of cheese and olives, olives and cheese! I have already eaten my three meals and 3 snacks, plus another snack. I was just too hungry and couldn't not. I guess I will eat plain peanut butter....again.

kjm - thanks! So happy to hear about you bfeeding, every little bit counts and it is so wonderful you were able to do that. So glad they are home! They are precious! Congrats! For our little girl it took about 4 weeks for her to be more alert. Good call on the scale!

Margi - almost 32 weeks! Sorry for the Fiona feet :(

Lou - congrats on meeting Chloe soon! Yikes for the funeral being the same day and I am sorry for your loss. Glad DH came to senses without me going over there to smack sense into him! ;)

SD - wow you are super organized I am impressed! How is DS doing with big bro books? Did you pack a nice gift from baby to DS for hospital? Did wonders for our DS

Blair - maybe 1 boppy and 1 newbor lounger? Glad you are hanging in there!

Thank you for all the concern about my incision, you girls are too sweet. After 9 weeks it closed! But it is still swollen and red and lots of pain inside, I got extra disability time but just want to heal already! I have been putting silicone sheet over it to hopefully have it heal well. Can't believe DS will be 3 in a week! Both kiddos are awesome and between Lizzy fussing and DH snoring and dogs barking I am getting zero sleep...!

Mamaboo - i had gd too and pasta was always good to me as long as I added butter, yeah fat lowers the glicemic action! Sorry you are hungry, I remember well!

Ryann - being a working mom does suck!!!

Ashley - how is DH's niece? Glad you are doing well!

Hey Rio- so glad the incision is making progress. I'm not really naturally organized, just have pregnancy neurosis :) My son is loving the books, we do looks of pretend play about babies and that is really help (I think anyway...time will tell). I am going to have a stash of presents for DS so if anyone brings baby presents over I'll have something for him, but I didn't even think of having a present for him at the hospital from baby. That is brillant! Such a fantastic suggestions, thanks! Any suggestions about what to get? I'm already looking for a cute big brother shirt, but I wanted to give that to him ahead of time.

CRASHING :D

Sdtrying,
I cannot help but contribute ideas because it's what I love doing. I babysat a lot of neighbor's kids growing up, so many I formed a business in my teenage years, but I loved those kids so much, and sometimes as I was holding their baby I would pretend it was my house and just for an afternoon pretend it was my family. I never dreamed it would be this hard to conceive 20 years later, but I cannot dwell on waiting so long 35 is still not too late, right? Sorry I got off on a tangent...but I really wanted to respond to ideas for your son. I would suggest a Star Wars light savor, but it might be too much for a toddler to safely play with. lol But remember it doesn't have to cost a fortune, it's what comes straight from the heart that's going to mean so much to your ds. Maybe something sentimental I would suggest a book that you could personally read to him at the hospital and sign it on the front with love, from baby and mom. Maybe you could arrange for someone to deliver balloons for him and a packed snack that the two of you could share together. I know you will probably have tons of visitors so one on one time with just him might be a little challenging but he will need to be included in everything you possibly can do. I think it's going to be more about the attention then anything else since he's used to being an only child. The more you can get him to participate in helping out the easier it's going to be for the adjustment period. I love how you have already been role playing with him in preparing him for the big day...You sound so organized and hopefully the baby can stay with you for a few more weeks, you never know though! Lou's will be here soon too, this is too exciting! :D

thanks sunshine, great thoughts! I've been googling ideas also and I'm thinking about a kids digital camera for him. He really likes cameras and since they'll be so much picture taking he can really participate...we'll see maybe i'll change my mind. I definitely might do the balloon idea too, he loves balloons.

35 is not too late! Obviously, every year counts with IF but there are plenty of women here who have conceived late 30's early 40's. I think Lou has to be one of my favorite stories recently with Chloe her one shot wonder! ;) I can't wait to see her Tuesday...she's such a little miracle baby!

SD - our DSs are so close in age! it will be fun to share DS/baby ideas and tips! What is your Ds into? Ours was into dinosaurs big time so we got him a set of 5 large ones from Amazon,
http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Resource ... 01&sr=8-12 lots of entertainment at the room, I also took DVDs for him to watch so we could all have dinner together at the hospital and he would not be bored, Cars, Shrek, Bee movie, Bugs life, Alladin... I also got him
http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Animals-Magn ... 038&sr=1-8 a couple of these he loves them and spends hours placing the animals on the magnetic book. Is your DS into books? We have been very lucky that DS did not show any jealousy whatsoever so we tried to include him in everything and have him help. Also DH took over more and was doing fun things with him. As for bfeeding I thought he was going to have a cow, I bfed him till 17 mos so he alwasy had an attachment to his booboos but he was fine with the baby feeding and actually told me that he was a big boy and milk was for babies! Anywho if you need anything don't hesitate to ask!!!

Sunshine - you will have your baby, you are so sweet and so deserving and I got my fingers crossed for you hun!
