Re: Fall Cycle 2011 (Sept, Oct, Nov) this cycle is the one!!

Post by Sunshine1576 »

Decided I shouldn't throw a big pity party around here, because there is way too much going on right now! Needing to stay strong and hang in there a little longer or at least until my hair turns gray and I get crowsfeet whichever comes first!

We, you always have my prayers, I cannot wait for you to become PUPO this Friday. :D

Anton, I just checked out the website link you sent me, looked very interesting. Gainsville, FL is about 4 hours from me, my clinic is 2.5 hrs the other way heading toward the Alabama stateline, yet anything is possible if we set our minds to it. I've been reading about TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) with natural treatment and massages/acupunctures have been proven to help. :D Thank you for sending me this information.

Kamina, What a great way to celebrate your birthday... :D Grow embiebabies grow!

Leorira, Not sure which is the best protocal, but I'm willing to try anything. Looking at my previous cycles with my old clinic, my doctor thought I was a slow responder but then later realized that it was my thyroid all jacked up. We did have a good turnout with the antagonist... 7 robust follicles for our last IUI that he almost wanted to cancel the cycle. I'm glad we didn't though because we learned it was all about the levels and had we cancelled we might of always been wondering what if? I'm trying to be patient and understanding but it takes every bit of my energy thats currently on the backburner. I pray we get to cycle in October ONLY if we get the "green light" of the levels being "normal." I couldn't imagine what OHSS would be like, is that where you ahve oer-response the ovaries swell and could cause rupture if not treated. I read sometime last Fall someone mentioned salty foods were good to help reduce the swelling. Maybe antagonist cycle is a "case by case" all depending on your history...Speaking of history we call something "antique" if it's over 50 years old. :D

Sunshine - bring fruit, it's easy and will tie you over until you can eat something more substantial. Yes, God has a plan for us all. He is always with you, especially during the hard times.

Anton - thanks for the cute birthday wishes. I so scared. Does it hurt very much?

WeHaveHope - I'm so happy for you. This Friday is your day!!!!! BFPBFPBFP!!!! And Healthy baby. Where did you get the lidocaine cream? I bet no one noticed you clothes. You'd be surprised how miopic folks are.

leori - Yup, my doctor is the first in the bay area to use the in office HSG machine. He was soooo happy to test it out on me. I was sooooo pissed cause I did not even get to prepare. Girls be warned there is a new machine in town. Instant HSG and no meds....

WeHaveHope - Please don't stress. Everything is going to be ok. I pray you have peace in your heart.

Blessed - thanks for the bd wishes. I think it is the asprin. ER is tomorrow. I am trying to remain calm. I don't mind being put under but I wonder how much pain I will have when I wake up. We should be getting some BPF reports soon.

fvrogers - ER tommorrow. I'm pretty calm considering. I'm ready for a nap. Thanks for the tips. When can i start eating the Chinese food and Gat? and for how long? Who knew that combination would work... Hmm wonder if it works for reg cramps? lol I can just hear you singing 'jesus take the wheel'.

Hi, wehavehope and all else! I'm brand new here, and never done IVF. I feel as if I've missed part of the 21st century -- all these abbrev. I don't yet understand!

I'm writing b/c am wondering whether anyone has done "natural IVF" or a variation of it, and had success.
My situation is quite unusual: 1st, I'm 51. 3 miscarr, w/naturally-occurring pregnancies @ age 46, 46, and 48 (used birth control before that . . . hadn't yet met "the guy.")

Anyway, so I finally found a clinic who said they would let me use my own eggs and try egg retrieval (I'd like to freeze, if we can't yet afford to implant yet); but, all the drug protocols are making me dizzy! (I haven't started them yet).

I'd like to ask for the most natural protocol possible -- while still retrieving as many eggs as poss. Since I've never done this before, who knows what will happen?

I'd love the benefit of anybody's experience -- drugs that are natural forms, which drugs gave side effects, etc. This is all new to me! Thanks!

Hi there! happy monday everyone! :D

Image

Neffi-
I am sorry you didn’t get the date you wanted for your transfer but like you said, you’ve waiting all this time so what’s 5 more days? You’ll be PUPO before you know it! :D

Leora-
same here with rain! from April to October not a drop from the sky. We have many similarities between our countries..... Can you believe it! We haven’t watched Hanna yet! The plan was to watch it last night after watching one episode of The Good Wife and instead of one episode we ended up watching 3 episodes and then it was too late to watch Hanna. Oh well, we will watch it tonight prior to any episode of our new hooked series! ..hopefully... I’ve heard about “Your Highness” being really funny... sometimes we like watching funny stupid movies! No need to think and it’s SO good to laugh at stupid comedies  we have also downloaded "the bridesmaids" and we havent seen that either!, yet...it’s good to have a plan but I wish you that this FET will give you a BFP and a baby for keeps so you won’t need to do a fresh cycle! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Blessed-
looks like your wish of seeing more BFP’s on the board came true with just another one!....

K8ielovett-
CONGRATULATIONS On your BFP!!!! How exciting!!! :D Looks like you got your miracle girl! if you didn’t see any line the day before and then the day after you checked on two HPT’s and both showed a line then I bet this is IT! What day are you now? When is your beta? I can’t wait to see those beta numbers! Bravo!! According to our list mistress you were PUPO on the 19th but did you have a 3dt or a 5dt? And how many did you transfer? :D

LauraN-
we have entered the last week of September, I better start doing the AF dance for you and me! Good Luck with everything!!!

Sunshine and stars-
how is the first mama of the Fall board doing? :D Did you go for another beta?

Akdelp-
How are the PUPO lady! Hang in there! You are almost done! You are a breath away from getting your BFP! :D

Fvrogers-
I don’t know about milk magnesia  ...but if it has magnesium then I guess it will do the work. 8) The one I have has: Mangesii hydroxidum 2.03g, Saccharosum 0.76g, Lemon flavour and aroma, excip. Ad pulv. Eff. Pro 4.50g. You can take this from the pharmacy without prescription. If you are in need then this is the good stuff to take! Has done miracles for me. My RE told me to buy it b/c I get constipation with progesterone suppositories and he told me it is bad “to push” for #2 (sorry for the TMI but I couldn’t explained it otherwise!  ) while being on the 2ww.

Toniia- How was your ET!! You are PUPO! :D

Fruit- Waz up girl? all good? :D

Wehavehope-
thank you for your kind words and what you said about being here for each other is SO true! I am so happy and lucky to have found all of you girls here and on the PAT board! :D Its good to have someone to understand and lift you up when you need it! I hope we all get our BFP’s and babies to take home! :D Every woman on this board deserves that! and I am feeling positive that IT will happen!!! ... I am glad your PIO shot wasn’t bad! and again my friend, GOOD LUCK on the 30th!

Tuffy-
How are you PUPO girl? :D

Sunshine1576-
I am glad you found the website interesting and I hope you try that therapy! It sounds promising! Yes if all goes well with the natural IVF I am planning on having a relaxing massage. Unfortunately there is no fertility acupuncture expert in the island! Can you believe that! There are lots of people that do acupuncture but not for fertility reasons. If there was one I would definitely go! :D

Kamina-
I am sure your ER is going to be great! :D ...if you didn’t have it already! with the time difference that we have you might as well be pregnant by now!  Anyhow, if you didn’t, then my advice is to be calm, you are going to be under sedation and you won’t feel a thing! Even after you wake up you will feel nothing! You will be sleepy and you should sleep for a good few hrs. Once you wake up is as if ER never happen! My fingers are crossed for you for a great ER and fert report! :D

Bebesperanza-
Welcome to our board! :D I am actually going to do a natural IVF cycle most probably in October. So it’s really new for me too! I am 37 and I had 6 fresh IVF’s and 1 FET all negatives. So my OB recommended that maybe what I need to try is a natural IVF cycle. The body is going to be relaxed, drug free and more recipient for the embryo implantation to happen. Is the same idea with doing a FET (Frozen embryo transfer) some women seem to respond better with a FET than with a fresh cycle for the reason above mentioned. You being 51 and using your own eggs is something extraordinary and I am happy for you! :D Having a natural IVF cycle means that a woman uses her own egg (cycle egg) and in some rare case there are even two eggs. Having one egg only to start with, makes it difficult already for the ER (Egg Retrieval) to actually happen prior to the ovulation that the body naturally does. And then there’s the fertilization were you will need to wait and see if its fertilized and if you are going to have 3dt or a 5dt. (3 day transfer, 5 day transfer) preferably I would do a 5dt if possible. The embryo reaches the blastocyst stage and it is more likely to survive than a 3dt one. In case you want more than one egg with a natural IVF, drugs free cycle, then I guess what you can do is to have a natural IVF cycle every month, freeze the eggs or embryos if have them fertilized prior to freezing and once you have a good number of eggs or embryos then you perform a FET. That means that if you want to have at least 5 eggs/embryos you need to do a natural IVF cycles for 5 months. And there are no guaranties for that to happen. I don’t know if I helped you but these are my two cents to your question. I hope my natural IVF cycle is successful and I get to share my success story with you! Good luck with everything my friend! :D

AFM- Happy Monday girls! :D It’s going to be a great week! :D I feel it! my plans for the day is do cut the grass, clean my car and DH’s vespa, clean and put away in the storage the pool stuff (sunbeds, toys, sun tan lotions, shampoos etc) and save them for next summer. Clean the veranda at the back and the veranda couches. I am not going to storage them since we are using those all year long. sitting outside even in the winter 8) I need to make a good clean up before it gets cold and starts raining. I am making beef burgers, risotto and salad tonight for dinner.Yummy! :P So I go at the grocery later and buy the ingredients to make the burgers etc. ...I am still waiting to hear for that job I have applied last Wednesday  I guess they wanted to gather all applications and then call the applicants. Things are not so good in the job sector. :( Unemployment seems to be increased dramatically this year. I was really hoping to get a job SOON prior to October so that I could pitch in for the natural IVF cycle. I’ve got 2 more weeks or less until I get my AF and hopefully I will have some news on the job. I haven’t talk with DH yet about doing the natural cycle in October, as I told you before I am waiting for my AF and then I will have that talk. I am giving him some time to think about it and hopefully he will agree with me. :) I know for sure that if I had a job things will easier for him to make that decision but I am not losing hope. Besides, it might not even happen this time due to all the above mentioned complications of a natural IVF cycle. what am I talking about! I really hope it does! :D

By the way, I have started reading this book called “the Secret, the Power” (the previous one was “The secret” and looks very interesting. For those who haven’t read it, or seen the movie “the secret”, its about the law of attraction. The things we want to happen will happen etc. I highly recommend it to the believers of the law of attraction! :D

Oh well, have a great week girls! :D This is the last of September and we are entering October! A month closer to our BFP’s!

Maria - I see. It's more about the Friday vs Saturday transfer than which doctor will be doing it. Just 4 more days until you're PUPO! Glad to hear the injection wasn't so bad. Same question as I asked someone else -- why does your doctor do PIO instead of suppositories? I hate the suppositories, but I was switched to PIO when I started to spot with my miscarriage and that was WAAAY WORSE!

blessed -- this whole thing is a big freaking waiting game. You just have to learn to relax and wait.

Felicia -- it's kinda weird that I live in an ancient city that is holy to the 3 main world religions. I used to find it so strange that people really LIVE here. Yeah, all that ancient history is here - but my day-to-day concerns deal with going to the supermarket and making something for dinner. Somehow the ancient history gets a little 'lost' amid the lasanga vs meatloaf thoughts! ---- Just 4 more days until your BETA!

K8tie - sounds like a BFP to me! How many days after your transfer are you?

Christy -- I know that I'm extra sensitive to babies/pregnancies - but really EVERYONE in my life is having kids except us. I guess we are just at that age (mid to late 20s and married - like all our friends). It's so hard. I hope it happens for us one day. I used to bum on facebook a lot, but the baby pictures and pregnancy announcements are too much. Maybe find a different website to waste time on -- like this one :D

Lydia - I didn't realize you are Jewish too! How cool! :D Do you ever come visit your relatives in Israel?

Kamina - what an unpleasant surprise! I'll be all prepared for my HSG (a mega dose of painkillers before hand!). I've never had pain after the ER. I feel really out of it and confused for a few hours, but that's because of the anesthesia. Make sure you have someone else to drive you home - and you'll probably take a big nap when you get home.

Bebe - Welcome! I don't have an answers for your questions, but welcome aboard!

AFM - I got the job! They are offering me less money than I asked for (actually, the same $ amount, but they want me to work from 8am-3pm unlike the 8am-2pm I was originally told). I have a 3 month "trial period" which I'm not sure what that means.

I'm a little concerned about what will happen if I do get pregnant from this cycle. Legally, I don't have to say I'm pregnant until 5 months, and they can't fire me then. I'll probably go on bedrest starting at 18 weeks (and need time off for a cerclage at 12-14 weeks) - but that is also legally protected (I'll get paid my full salary from the government, and the employer can't fire me). I'm worried that if I start puking (I've had HG in all my pregnancies and throw up non-stop) people in the office will guess. <shrug> I guess I just can't worry about that. Since I only have a 30% success rate with the FET, I have a 70% chance it WON'T work and that I'll be working there longer when I do get pregnant. We'll see....

I start next Sunday! (but I'll be going in late, because I have my second endo biopsy then)

Anton - we always post at the same time! :D "Your Highness" is funny and has NO baby references, which is a relief for us. I really can't stand movies about people who get pregnant by accident, or even get pregnant easily, or even with a pregnancy character. I usually like the show "How I Met Your Mother" - but now it's pissing me off. Lily and Marshall decided to TTC - tried for a few months without success - and then took a break from TTC when his dad died.... only to get pregnant the first cycle they weren't trying! UUUGGGGHHHH -- people see this shit on TV and assume it happens in real life. If I had a penny for everytime someone told us to 'just relax and stop the fertililty treatments" -I'd be a freaking millionaire. So for now, I'm skipping HIMYM - I figure that if/when I'm on bedrest and happily pregnant, I'll watch it then.

There is a new show on TV called "Up All Night" about people who have a baby and how they didn't know what they were getting into and kinda regret it. I'm skipping that one too....

You sound like you are having such a productive Monday. I'm impressed! I hate HATE HATE cleaning. My reward to myself was to hire a cleaning lady when I found a job -- so now that I found a job, I'm already asking friend for recommendations! :D I haven't even started working yet, but I'm so excited to pay someone else to clean my toilets :D

Hi ladies,

Sorry I've been MIA. I've been having a very difficult time this cycle. I'm still very upset that we paid so much money for a donor egg cycle and only got one embryo from it. I haven't had much, no correction, I haven't had any PMA this cycle and I didn't want to be the downer for the board. So my official beta isn't supposed to be until Fri the 30th but I have a friend who is a midwife and she's going to do the beta for me tomorrow. I'm working on Friday and can't get to the clinic til Saturday morning. I was going to POAS this morning but I chickened out.

I'm terrified that'll it'll be negative and I have no idea what my next steps are. I had it in my head that I would have some frosties and if I put in 5 ED embryos and none of them worked then it really isn't meant to be. But with just one I don't think it's a really good chance. We can't afford anymore treatments. So I don't know what to do. I don't know how to move forward. I don't know if I should pursue more treatments or put this dream to rest? I feel like if I put this dream to rest that a piece of me is dying. But I don't know how else to move forward.

Hoping that I won't have to think about any of this because my beta will be positive, but I really don't feel as though it will be. Last time I had a beta of 10 and I was very nauseous. This time there is zero nausea.

Sorry for being so down and thank you to all of you for keeping the board so positive! I love reading all of the great support for each other.

Indigo.

Leora – WOOHOO!!!!!! You got the job!!!! Congratulations my friend! :D :D Image
I am happy at least one of us got a job! :D  That means mine is just around the corner! If I may ask what kind of job is it? what will you do?...Don’t worry about getting that BFP while getting this job, I had the same dilemma of what if I get pregnant and then get a job or right at the beginning and then I thought that hey! I ‘ve been wanting to have a baby for so long and if its going to happen at the start of a new job then I won’t mention it until at least a month after. The law protect pregnant women here too...

I hear ya on the baby movies!!! OMG! If I watch another one I am going to break the TV! And I totally get you about HIMYM! I love that series but I am having a break from watching it for the same reason! I couldn’t agree more with you! People Do see these kind of shows or movies on tv and assume that is god dame easy to have a baby! I wish it was! I get the same “advice” from friends “why don’t you guys stop the treatments for a while and just relax! It will happen naturally for you when you least expect it!.. “ ...seriously! WTF! IS NOT BECAUSE OF STRESS THAT IS NOT HAPPENING!! Helloou!!! At the beginning , when someone gave me this kind of advice, I used to get kind of “defensive” and tried to make them understand that it just CAN’T happen like that! we have a sperm issue that needs to be an ICSI in order for a baby to happen! And yes! Stress has a big share for a pregnancy not happening but is not solely up to stress! If it was a stress issue I would take a month vacation to Hawaii and sit and do nothing! Lay at the beach all day having massage and drink virgin mojitos until IT happens! I am tired of answering now the WHY is not happening so far and WHY I cannot stop trying. I Now I just say either I don’t want to talk about it or that maybe they are right but I am not ready to stop yet, or something like that. Next thing I’ll do if people keep asking me is to just ignore the question! And change subject! That would be rude and I am far away from being rude to people but if this is what it takes to make people stop making stupid suggestions and questions then I will be rude.

Another “stupid” comment I get is “but you are so young (yeah! 37 going on 60! ) and you have time to have a baby “ Oh! Really! :x Do they think first before they open they mouth! I wonder! As if I’ve got all the time in the world! No I don’t! And I am totally aware of that. is as if I am running against time here! Beating the odds!

Sorry! I must sound horrible! 8) But one can take that much! ...thing is, I have given it a lot of thought, is not peoples fault. They are just ignorant of the situation and they think they do/say the best they can to “help” us. One that hasn’t been through a fertility treatment of any kind , there is NO WAY to fully understand our situation, psychology and mental stage in general! So we can’t really blame them for ignorance. I wish people were not so passive and “get it” but they are passive. What a shame :( It is tiring enough what we are going through; we don’t need to “explain” ourselves, our actions to others.

Sorry again for the venting! I guess I needed a chance to burst! Anyhow, I let it out of me and I feel better about it!...not really  but is good to share thoughts with people that are in the same frequency with you! :D

Is 15:45 and I have done all the jobs I mentioned doing in my previous post...hmm! what to do next? I will read my new book and do some zapping until I think of something else to do. I like being busy and now that I am at home I have a lot of time to kill! You know what I mean. One day I even put in rows of colour my veggies and fruits in the fridge. The tomatoes where align by size! I know! Wtf! But never the less I did it! my DH freaked out! he found it hilarious and told me that I better get a job soon otherwise he will come home one day and find something scary from me! Xa xa! ...I have a cleaning lady too that comes every other Saturday and we clean together the house. The rest of the days I try to keep it clean but i found out that the bigger the house the bigger the mess! :? So cleaning is a never ending story! My cleaning lady is from Sri Lanka and her name is Gaga! I called her Lady Gaga! From the singer of course and she laughs every time. she is adorable. I don’t know what I’ll do without her with the cleaning of the house. :D

OMG!! I got carried away! AGAIN! Sorry!! I wish you a lovely rest of the day dear! and dont forget that Good Days are Coming for us!!

Indigofire-
Take a big breath honey! :) Transferring one embryo isn’t that bad! We have heard so many stories with transferring one embryo and get a BFP. On the PAT board is Lou, a friend that had only one 8 cell to transfer on day 3 and now tomorrow is having birth to her beautiful baby girl! There is always hope honey! What day are you going to be tomorrow? If Friday is your beta I think that there’s a possibility that it want show tomorrow Tuesday but then again I might be wrong! You had your ET on the 16th and it was a 3dt so tomorrow must be 11dp3dt so you have a big chance to see a good beta. :D Please don’t get your hopes down and try think positive. You are PUPO! :D and until otherwise you need to stay calm and believe that you are prego! I am really hoping that you are honey! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and I am sending you tons of positive vibes! ((hugs))

We- Awesome #'s! I am praying for you...

Anton - Thanks for being such a huge encouragement! I always smile when I read your posts. :D

fvrogers - I can see how easy it could be to become a POAS monster.... I really do...

Leorira - I think I am! AND CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AFM - I AM POAS. Last time I got a BFP on 5dpt with an expanded blast. That means, I bought out the $ store tests and got a package of FRER tests too...Tomorrow will be 5dpt with this one. Just have to stay focused that these could be wrong and it is way to early still....God help me keep my sanitiy. I had a breakdown yesterday. Poor DH didn't see that coming. I don't feel any different at all. Nothing. My gut feeling is that it didn't stick...Anyone ever have that gut feeling that was right or wrong!?!?!?!?! Last night DH and I were planning our next steps....seems premature but I am telling you my gut tells me....I am a pretty positive person, but I just can't shake this! UGH!!!!!!!
