I personally have no judgement about gender selection, I don't however think the point is about non-judgement. I think it is more about group dynamics.

It is a bit awkward joining a support group of women doing IVF for infertility if you are not indeed doing IVF for infertility currently. I don't think it is unreasonable that some women perceive that as insensitive. No offense meant, just trying to be real about it.
