Ghost/everyone: skip a cycle after chemical/miscarriage

Post by LYD10 »

Ghost and everyone else - I had a chemical - my beta went up to 3500 but we never saw heartbeat. i had a D&C and am waiting for my period. my RE wants me to skip a cycle before doing another fresh IVF. Is this the standard procedure - skiping a cycle after chemical and D&C? just curious. because its been over 2 months since my previous attempt and it will be another couple of weeks before my AF i imagine.

thanks!

Lydia- after my missed miscarriage, I did NOT wait a cycle. We waited until my beta went to zero, then I waited for my period (which never came - so I took Provera). I started my FET on that period. Maybe it's different because you have to do fresh again (right?)
8 IVF+6 FET=6 BFN+8 BFP =

-b/g twins 22w (12.09)
-mc 10w (9.10)
-Micha (7.19-24.11) & Asaf (7.19-28.11) born at 24w
-mc 5wk (2.12)
-no HB at 18w (10.12)
-BO (4.13)-
-mc 6wk (9.13)

last attempt - donor sperm - baby girl born healthy July 2014

LYD10- so sorry to hear you had a chemical pregnancy, after my chemical they had me skip one though I think they would have let me push things if I'd wanted too. From the limited data I read, there are were not studies to support the practice (correct me, ghost, if I am wrong) Regardless of the data, it seems to be a fairly common practice at many (if not most) clinics. hope that helps a bit...I'm looking forward to stalking you on your next cycle!!

Looks like more than a typical chemical pregnancy.

Many doctors like to wait a month in between a D&C or miscarriage and the start of the next IVF cycle. I don't know what evidence there is for it.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
