Sub Chorionic Bleed

Post by mandarae »

Does anyone know anything about this? I am currently 7 weeks 5 days and had gushing blood and clotting a few hours ago. I went to OB who ordered u/s. U/s showed perfectly fine embryo with a strong heartbeat. He told me he saw a small bleed and told me about sch. This has been one heck of a ride for us! Thanks.

Unfortunately, I know a lot about these things. Baby Center site has a support group that was very helpful to me during the early part of my pregnancy when I was a complete wreck of worry.

They also have a lot of information, but I will be happy to answer any specific questions. The "good" news is that most women that have them continue to term--although there are some that experience losses. Some doctors are more cautious and recommend some form of bedrest when you have an "active" bleed. I have been on modified and strict bedrest during different parts of my pregnancy. However, some doctors will say there is no evidence that bed rest helps. For me--it was clear. When I was active--I bled. When I took it easy, I didn't. But not everyone is the same.

Things that most will recommend is: pushing fluids-it calms to uterus if you are very well hydrated, no heavy lifting or heavy exercising and pelvic rest (no sex, no orgasms).

It was a very difficult early pregnancy for me. *Most* women the bleed seems to resolve around 18 weeks or so. They will monitor it with u/s to make sure that it doesn't affect baby/placenta as there is a risk of placental disruption.

I am now 33 weeks and I stopped bleeding around 20 weeks. My hematoma had thinned out significantly so it is unclear if it is gone, or just hidden by babies. But at this point they do not believe it could impact them anymore.

I wish you total success!! Feel free to PM me if you want.
