Hey everyone!
I'm back and ready to try for #2. I had success with IVF#1 in Serbia. I'm going back for FET in December. I stopped breastfeeding by DD on September 12th so I can get AF again. Well, it has been almost a month and all I had was a few cramps a few weeks ago but not a spot. My question is can I just take BCP to get my period? Has anyone else had this problem? I can only go in December, we already bought tickets, etc. so the pressure is on. Any advice?
Thanks!

ask a doctor (even a local, regular doctor). Likely, he will run some blood tests (and maybe an u/s) to figure out where you are in your menstrual cycle.
It's possibly you haven't ovulated yet since weaning. If you are nowhere close to getting a period (no visible follicle on the u/s, e2 & LH levels are low), he can prescribe progesterone to bring on a period (usually brand name "Provera" in the USA -- you take pills for a few days, then stop them and get a period a few days later). This would be much faster than using BCP.
If you are not ovulating (e2 and LH levels low), you could also start a package of BCP. Take them for about 2 weeks. When you stop them, you'll get a period a few days later.
Good luck! and come join us on the "Fall/Winter 2011" thread -- lots of great people on there!
------ETA: I'm no expert, but I've been through this. I never ovulate on my own. After my first delivery (no BF), my miscarriage (D&C) and my second delivery (pumping - but stopped after 9 days) - I never got a period. So I did precisely what I've described above.

Generally yes, a course of OCP will end with a period.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
Thanks for the info! Im emailing my Doc in Serbia now. I just wanted to prepared for what to expect. That doesnt sound so bad. I was afraid I would have to return my airline tickets. I'd love to join fall/winter board. See you soon! and Thank you both again!
argh!!! this is getting frustrating (what's not with IVF?!?!?)... My RE in Serbia emailed me back and said to contact my RE here and get u/s and b/w done then maybe we can start hormones. My RE here said they refuse to try a FET unless the woman has a had a least 3 normal menstral cycles. The nurse kept saying it would be unnatural to use hormones to start your period and I will NOT get pregnant with an FET because my body is not ready. I said, lady what is natural with IVF?!?!?! She wouldn't budge. I called to get a 2nd opinion from another RE and they want to charge $250 just to talk to me....jeeesh! I dont want to pay the money and the RE say I cant do anything for you. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
