HAS ANYONE READ THIS ARTICLE IN THE SUN TODAY?BASICALLY IT SAYS THAT WOMEN CAN BOOST THEIR CHANCES OF GETTING PREG THROUGH IVF BY TAKING ASPIRIN,IN TESTS THOSE THAT TOOK A LOW DOSE FROM ET UNTIL THE PREG TEST HAD A 5% GREATER CHANCE OF GETTING PREG,
I AM REALLY CONFUSED IN WHAT TO DO NOW AS I HAD ET TODAY,BUT WHEN I ASKED MY CLINIC BEFORE ABOUT ASPIRIN,THEY SAID IT WAS MAINLY FOR WOMEN WITH RECURRENT MISSCARRIAGE,I HAVE HAD A BIO CHEMICAL PREG AND A VERY EARLY MISS,I DID BUY THE ASPIRIN BUT TOOK THE CLINICS ADVICE,NOW I DONT KNOW WHETHER TO AKE IT OR NOT!
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE?PLEASE HELP!
THANKYOU LOVE LOOPY.
Loopy this is an ongoing one I am afraid and has been for a while now. It was all the rage last year (sorry sounds a bit like a fashion accessory but was used that way) I have no clotting problems but had read the same and my clinic told me would not harm either way. So for 4th tmt took it and got pg - as you know he died at 20 wks but not to do with aspirin so don't worry. I then ummed and ahhed about taking it again and asked my clinic who had by this time done some more studies and she said from her initial findings (and more needed to be done) that stood more chance of success NOT TAKING it than taking it. Need it for clotting probs really. So I bit the bullet and did not and pg with twins........... Feel better for not having anything extra too if that makes sense.
Tough shout I know but if you were to pin me down I would say no.
Good luck
Love

ttc 9 years. 38 yrs old, dh 8 hrs younger!First IVF in Aug 2002 and had ectopic.2nd IVF neg.3rd FET and negative.4th FET and positive but sadly lost our little boy at 20 weeks.5th FET and Alice Isobel and Emily Charlotte born 5th Aug 2004!
Like Tracey said it was the topic of many threads last year and my consultant was of the mind not to take aspirin at all. I didn't want to take it either as I would always blame it on the aspirin if anything happened if that makes sense?
It's a tough on but I wouldn't bother unless you have been advised to for other reasons.

I asked my clinic about this and they were not keen at all for me to take it, although I got quite stroppy with them explaining that this was our first and only chance and if taking asprin could help and not hinder then why shouldn't we, they were not keen. So haven't taken it, testing on 11th. On reflection I don't honestly think it can make such a big difference unless you have clotting problems, unfortunately its probably not until you get pg that you are going to find out (ie early miscarriage)
