We- Thinking of you. This is def not a punishment!! I do hope the Dr's can to some type of test to understand why this is happening. Take all the time you need but be sure to pop in and let us know how you are doing. Don't give up on your dream! It is not selfish to want a child with your DH also. ((HUGS))

We - I am so sorry to hear your news. Give yourself plenty of time and space to grieve and don't hold anything back. Bodie is right, time does heal. Although it may feel like a long way away for you at the moment, there is light at the end of the tunnel. We're here to help you along the way and lead you towards that light.

Lauren319 - good going with the follies. :)

Ninde - I'm so nervous about the rugby final on Sunday. If the French win, our nation will be absolutely gutted. Luckily it's a public holl on Monday so we'll all have time to recover from the celebrations or the mourning!

We, I am so sorry for your loss. The one thing I know for sure is that when I go thru trials, especially baffling ones, I am about to be enormously blessed! my life verse has been jer.29:11. I'm sure that doesn't ease these feelings, but He has you in His hand.

Can anyone relate their experience with follistim? Symptoms during, or anything helpful? Anythings appreciated! I ask currently on fsh day 4, I go in for e2 /ultrasound for follicle check in the morning.

Julia- I used Follistim my last cycle. I started on the same dose you are on and ended up at 450. The main thing that I noticed is that the Follistim can sting a little and, on day 3, I felt really yucky, almost like I was coming down with something, but then within a few days, I was ok, but I am not sure if that was the Follistim, the stress of everything, the other meds......who knows with this process. Are you having any issues, symptoms?

Maria - again, I'm so sorry. Even before we start this process, we are imagining the baby and child that we want to bring into the world. After a BFP, we start planning for that joyous day only a few months later when we will finally hold that child in our arms. When that dream is ripped away and all that's left is the uncertainty of the future, it's absolutely devastating. I hope you can find comfort. God is not punishing you. What could you have possibly done to deserve this? What could I have possibly done to deserve what I've been through? I don't know why things happen, but they do, and all we can do is just keep living. I highly recommend finding a therapist, just in general. Cry as much as you want, that's totally normal. It's also normal to be in denial, to be angry, to be numb, to be anything you are.

Christy - I'm sorry you don't feel like going home for the holidays. My whole family is here now for our holidays and it's so depressing. I can totally understand not wanting to go and being the only ones without kids at such a kid-centered celebration. I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother too, it's so hard when they get older. My grandmother is here visiting and she is clearly NOT okay (she is very forgetful and paranoid - some classic Alzheimer's symptoms). She lives alone in New York, so now my mom (an only child) is trying to figure out what to do and how to tell when she isn't okay living alone anymore. It's so hard.

Gina - I also live really far away from my family (I live in Israel, they live in PA). It's hard to be so far apart. But luckily we live in a time when phone calls aren't expensive (my aunt moved here 30 years ago and calls were so expensive that she spoke to her family only once a month).

Tess - you're in New Zealand? Cool! How is the medical system there? Do you have socialized medical coverage? Is the IVF covered? My whole family are HUGE football nuts and Pittsburgh Steeler fans - and I just don't get it - but congrats on your team doing so well! My husband LOVES tongue (we don't eat pork, so it's beef tongue) and I think it's GROSS! I just can't imagine tasting something that could be tasting me back! :D

Kat (tuffy) - have fun! Where are you going/what are you doing? When's your next u/s?

Lauren (319) - 6 follies already! That sounds great! I hope this cycle is soooo much better than last time! Food poisoning is gone, thank goodness. As for my DH, it's not that he doesn't want me to get support, but he thinks maybe being on the boards does more harm than good... He is trying to do what is best for me. I think it's better on here, though! So I'm staying! === wow, a MA in forensic pysch - that sounds so interesting!

Julia - welcome! Don't worry too much about ovarian torsion - it's really really rare. They just tell you about it to scare you :D and I always take it as an excuse to skip the gym! Good luck at the check up tomorrow. I've taken Follistim (under the name Puregon) for all three of my fresh cycles and it's worked great. No really bad side effects, just bruising on the injection sites and uncomfortable bloating from the growing follicles.

Lydia - so nice to "see" you! How are things going, honey? Any news on when you can start again?

Felicia - less than a week until your us! How exciting!

AFM - really exciting news here in Israel, not sure if it's big news in the USA or other parts of the world. Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier who was captured more than 5 years ago at the age of 19, was released today in exchange for 1,027 terrorist prisoners being released. This is HUGE news here. He is a national hero and people have been wanting him back for a long time. At the same time, everyone is appalled that we have set free more than 1,000 people who have killed in the name of terror. I'm not really sure how I feel about it, but that's what's happening today!

Just 9 days until I stop my BCP. I'm so anxious to get this show on the road already. I'm terrified when I think about how crushing a BFN would be, and also terrified at the thought of getting pregnant again.... <sigh> hopefully I'll get a BFP and then worry about it!

Maria - i am so sorry.. what you are feeling is totally rational. who wants to keep going with all the pain you have been through. I went through a lot but I am thankful I never had a m/c, i just don't know if I could mentally handle one. Thinking back on my 3 years of IVF, i was so mad at the world for it not working but i had to keep going. Take some time off, enjoy your DH, your children and the holidays. Then come back and transfer your frosties. I believe you have a good goal. transfer what you have just so there are no regrets. That is what i lived on, no regrets. I set a limit which for me was donor egg, if that didn't work then i would be done. We spend so much of our lives consumed with infertility and IVF, there has to be some point where we have to say, this is it and I am done. If not we will truly go insane. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

On another note, just to throw this out there, have you ever been tested for blood clotting disorders or immune issues. Since you have had a couple of miscarriages now, i think those areas should be further looked at. Like your RE said, it could of probably been chromosonal issues but just to make sure you have bases covered i would look at other things just to rule them out. Just my 2 cents.

Hello ladies

We: like so many others I have to say the same thing - you arnt to blame for any of this and you are not being punished. I can utterly understand why you feel that but a chroi, you arnt. None of this makes sense, none of it. And no-one is perfect and none of us get it all right. We arnt meant to be perfect. God doesnt expect that. We have all offended Him, believe me, ive done so many things wrong that if that were the case then I would never have any happiness in my life. This is so awfully unfair. And just because you have a child and a stepchild does not mean you have any the less entitlement to another. Yes other people have different circumstances but that doesn't mean you deserve less than full happiness. Do what you need, dont worry about raging against god - He can handle it.

With so much love

I agree with To Have Fun (love the name by the way). You should ask about being tested for blood clotting or immune issues. I went through that for a while and have a good friend that went through that too. She lost 4 pregnancies in one year and finally went on heparin for the 5th. She has a lovely little girl. Although she did not test positive for the disorder, her sister and mom have it really bad. So it was definitely affecting her.

LauraN, nothing major as far as symptoms, mostly tightness, full feeling in the abdomen, my pants have to be loose. Bruising with red dots at the injection sites but no pain there. Some pulling feeling in my abdomen and it scares me but they said I wouldn't know I was about to do damage, only after it was done. How comforting.
Glad to hear that torsion is rare! They really freaked me out with this and I was sure I did it the other night when a bug crawled up my arm and I flew out of bed! DH yelling at me the whole time we are springing from the mattress, "don't use your abdominals!"... This whole experience is like science fiction to me and I'm unsure of every move, but it gets easier.

So I went to get blood work yesterday just to see where my thyroid level was at (thank God my IVF Nurse totally gets me and knows I don't like suprises and to wait, so she suggested I get a test now so that when it's time I would have an idea where I was at). I had no idea it would come back so quickly, but it did. My thyroid level is normal, so in taking my thyroid meds since the beginning of Sept, my thyroid level has gone from 5.163 to 1.37. I am so excited! So, now, I'm just waiting for AF to arrive and then I go in for the official bloodwork and start on BCP's, then, the shots start 3 weeks later. I'm a little frustrated because I thought I would get my AF before now  So, I guess my status can officially change to Waiting for AF!

It is with very, very reserved excitement that I say I see a faint line!

I am only 5dpFET of 2 expanded blasts. Because I am a POAS junkie I got 4 Dollar Tree tests over the weekend. I used one yesterday--I know way too early--and it was stark white. I am a pro at testing then looking under every window, light bulb, in the case-out of the case, going back later...you get the picture. I have also used the Dollar Tree tests many times and always gotten negatives.

I haven't seen any form of a real line in oh say 10 years. I tried to get my dog to look and tell me she saw it but instead she just looked at me like WTF?

So cross your fingers and toes. I will keep testing daily until I get a real solid line. This one is faint, but visible in the case and out, in low light and bright light and most importantly, within the time limit. I can't get a pic of it because it's so small and my phone and iPod won't focus on it.
