jayne- welcome back! I am doing the suppository and injections. I am not looking forward to the shots but I am hoping they work. Sorry that you are having a hard time functioning... I hope that things get better but remember what the outcome is!

Blessed-I recently asked my RE the same question only because my bottom was getting sore because of weeks of the PIO. He said it was ok to give myself the injection in my thigh. You would put the injection on the top portion of the middle of your thigh. If you apply 5 to 10 minutes of ice you should not feel it. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the lack of personals. The shift in hormone levels have caused me to have a migraine headache. In addition, I unfortunately bled so much for a week flowing the MC that I am feeling quite weak. I will start taking my prenatal vitamins again tomorrow so hopefuly this will help give me a little more energy. I'm still quite interested in Skyping with some of you. It was very nice to meet Nindr the other yesterday. Please send me a PM if your interested. It would be really nice to continue to grow the friendships I have made on this board. Sunshine- good luck with your IUI. Wouldn't it be great if you didn't even have to do IVF?????

We- I take prenatals all the time, they make me feel great so hopefully they will help you feel better soon. Did they check your iron levels? I bled once so much from a delivery my levels went so low that I had no energy. just a thought.

Becca- wow can't believe you are almost ready for your FET, great news.

Amanda- Wow four embryos. Only a few short (or not so short) days to go until your BFP!

Leora- Yeah for AF! Good luck with your cycle, can't wait to hear about your little one coming home.

Bodie- Yep you are a few weeks behind me. It's exciting having twins but also a little frightening. I'm scared about the delivery but excited to get a two for one. My BF is my OB so she kind of gets me worked up sometimes. Good luck, I hope both your little ones are still growing.

AFM- I am exhausted. Since I'm a SAHM I can't take a nap during the day. Its exhausting. I can't wait to hit trimester 2 so I can get out of this funk and into the good part. I'm already showing, at least to me. I am up a few sizes in the Jeans and my breats are huge. I will be interesting to see how quickly things change with twins. I think I might be in maternity pants in a few weeks! Off to visit my parents next week so hopefully I can sneak off for some naps.

jayne321- I am doing the progesterone shots. I choose the shots because I didn't want to deal with a mess. I must say though my butt is sore & bruised some. I have to have 2 shots one in each hip (sigh)

AFM: My butt is getting sore from the shots. Okay my POAS addicts my RE had me do half an ovidriel shot Thursday night after the transfer, to help with implantation so how long will take for the hcg to get out of my system?? I am now taking a blood thinner shot too. I am really feeling like a pin cushion.

RE called and started me on Provera to get AF. I discontinued Estrace and am staying on Lupron and hopefully will have a transfer beginning of Dec. At this point I just have to wait for AF. RE said the high dose of Estrace could have caused to break down of the lining but they aren't really sure.....

Jayne - welcome! Congrats on the retrieval - when will your transfer be - day 3 or day 5? Good luck. I see from your signature that you've also had a late loss. It's unbelievable that after working so hard for a pregnancy, we can lose our babies. Hopefully, we'll both get 'rainbow babies'. ---- I always have done the vaginal suppositories (never oral). I take 400mg of "Utrogestan" twice a day. Never had any side effects except some nasty vaginal discharge.

LauraN - another DH computer programmer! That's what my husband does too! I hope the job stuff all works out. It's so stress - especially in the USA where you have to pay for fertility treatments and work to have health insurance.

Julia - hope your ER goes really well today! "fresh" means an egg/oocyte retreival (no matter where the sperm comes from) and "frozen" means transferring embryos that were previously made and frozen. So yup - you are doing a fresh cycle! MESA sounds so painful. We are doing IVF/ICSI because my husband's sperm count is super super super low (as in 'dozens' instead of 'millions') and everyone keeps telling him that he is lucky to have some swimmers in his ejaculate so he doesn't need MESA/TESA! I've never had pain after ER (I've done 3). Just annoying side effects from the anesthesia (headaches, drowsiness, fuzzy-headedness)

Neffi - I'm so so so so so sorry. Canceled cycles are such a huge nightmare. I hope you can try again really soon and have your transfer in December. Has this ever been a problem before?

Christy - you take Ganirelix IM (intra-muscular)? I take "Orgalutran" (same drug, different brand name here) and it's SC (sub-cutaneous - ie, into fat instead of muscle). GOOD LUCK TODAY! GET PREGNANT!

Ninde -yup, only one hour ahead now, but that changes really soon, no? We change our clocks back before our holidays in Sept-Oct - so for about a month, we are on Europe time. Enjoy London! I've vacationed there twice and loved it! (then again, the rain and cold is a novelty for us! - just as exciting as people who come here and are so excited to go to the beach in January!)

Kala - your RE hasn't answered the last four emails?!?! That's crazy! At least here, I'm not paying out of pocket, so I understand that the service isn't as good (doctors, even REs, don't earn good money here). I also get comments of "relax and a miracle will happen".... ummm -- NO IT WON'T! Sheesh! --- Why was your DH in Austria? What will he be donig all winter? Military?

Bodie - one of each? How exciting! (and how exciting to know so early! I'm always DYYYYINIINING to know the sex of the baby!)

Becca - Congrats! Hopefully I'm right behind you on the FET train. I'm terrified, but also excited. I hate doing this, but I know it's the only way to get my baby...

Tuffy - when I was pregnant with twins (both times) I was constantly EXHAUSTED! I would work, go home and go to sleep and then wake up for work in the morning. Must be hard with 2 other little kids around!

Amanda - how much was half the Ovidrel (we have different drug names here and I'm not familiar with it)? I think that you lose the hCG at a rate of 1,000 per day --- so if you take 10,000iu, after 10 days, it's clear out of your system.

AFM - AF sucks. I forget that every time. I'm so excited to start my period so I can start my cycle -- but Ihate having my period! GROSS! I hate tampons and pads and forgetting to change them -- ick! NO light colored bottoms for me!

I'm super pissed that I couldn't reach my clinic or any other fertility nurses/doctors on Friday. I started my period and didn't know what was worse - to start the pills without the baseline SnS or to wait until CD3 -- I decided to start my pills. I really really hope I didn't ruin my cycle, but I doubt I did. I'll probably get a strict "talking-to" from the nurses about 'self-medicating', but I don't care. I blame myself for the stress, since I should have asked about what to do in situations like this...

I go for SnS tomorrow morning. I hope it goes quickly and smoothly, since I'm supposed to be at work by 8 but the clinic only opens at 7:30. I'll get there around 7 so I'm the first one on line. I also have to process my insurance paperwork with the hospital, so that'll take some time too. I think I'm going to go with "my car wouldn't start" as the excuse!

Leora - So frustrating about Friday…oh man. Good luck on Sunday - I am sending you lots of good vibes that everything will go smoothly and you will be out of there on time and with the official green light to keep on going with the estrofem! Also, don't blame yourself - it is so hard to predict in advance any possible scenario. It is good to have some way to contact the RE, though, when the clinic isn't open in case you run into trouble, so if they are willing to give you some sort of contact 'lifeline' like a cell phone number or email for in the future, that would probably be really useful.

Neffi - So so sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle I am glad you have a plan for the near future, though.

Tuffy - I hope you hit a sweet spot soon when you will have more energy. It sounds like things are progressing really well, though, and I am excited for you!

We - Ugh, migraines and lots of bleeding are the worst. I hope the bleeding is tapering off and physically you will start feeling better. You have been in my thoughts.

Sunshine - So exciting that your IUI is getting so close! With the ganirelix, my understanding is that as long as you have had an injection within 24 hours before the trigger, you are okay (so that your surge begins truly at the time of trigger and not before then). I think if the ganirelix is 8 hours before the trigger, you will be fine - the ganirelix shouldn't cancel out or weaken the trigger. While it will prevent your body from releasing the LH that would cause you to surge naturally, it should have no effect on HCG that you are introducing to your body from outside, if that makes any sense. I believe for my last fresh ivf cycle my last dose of cetrotide (basically same as ganirelix) was in the morning and then I triggered that evening around 11pm. Hopefully your RE will be able to clarify everything with good instructions! Just realizing now that since this is from yesterday you probably already figured things out and maybe even already had your IUI

Julia - Lots of good vibes that everything when smoothly today and that you got many good eggs!

Jayne - Congratulations on your ER! I hope you get a greet fert report!

As for me, I am on day 6 of stims right now. I went in for a monitoring appointment after day 3 of stims and I had 5 follies between 10-13mm. Last night my dose of Gonal-F was increased and I started Luveris and Cetrotide. I am feeling so much better about this cycle than my last fresh cycle. I really, really appreciate my new RE - he is very on top of things and conscientious and willing to tweak and personalize my protocol as I go along. I am going in again for monitoring tomorrow morning and I am really hoping for a good report! I also have my first acupuncture of this cycle tomorrow after work. I am not sure if it truly helps pregnancy-wise, but it does help me to relax, so for that reason I think it's worth it.

Amanda-I got my a faint line 6dp3dt with HPT, then no line 7dp3dt, then faint line again. Everything I read said to wait until 6 or 9dpt to POAS. Good luck!!!

Neffi-Im so sorry about your lining. Ill keep that in mind about the etrace...you were 12 mg, right? I think you were ahead of me on our last 09 round. Let's hope december brings us both babies again!!!! Im doing the AF dance for you!
Leorira-DH only got 9 sperm via MESA...before that he did electro ejaculation with clomid to get viable sperm..yikes! DH is a professional skier, so he is gone most of the winter. He just told me he has to go race in Europe in December...so I have to travel by myself with DD to Serbia . Haha...i agree about AF. It had been two years since I had it. This last one I didnt want to mess anything up or make it stop, so I wouldnt use tampons...lol! Im sure everything will be fine with taking BCP... no stress, right?!?!
Bodie-congrats on the boy/girl twins! That is wonderful to have one of each!

AFM-DH is hooooooooome!!! I am so happy to have some help! With 1st IVF cycle I read about the link between calcium and fertility so I drank a glass of whole milk and ate a big bowl of ice cream for 3 months before my ET. I also gave up caffine and alcohol. I am doing the same now to prepare for FET. Just curious...what are you ladies doing to help your body get ready?

Sunshine- hi back! Good for you on the shots, I hate doing it too. When I was doing Lupron one morning I brusied the heck out of my stomach. I had a silver dollar size green and purple bruise- yuk!

Leorira- We didn't do PGD this time because it's $6k & doing it last time didn't get us a BFP We transferred two perfect girls- it was so hard. We aren't testing for anything specific just looking for quality. It's pretty crazy that at 38 years old only 3 of my eggs were chromosomally 'good' and that was out of 20+. This time I only had 11 so I am hoping I got better quality BTW- glad my AF dance worked for you and got the evil AF here two days early WHOOT!

Jayne- Welcome back. I have had to take breaks too, it's hard to have a loss and stay positive. Congrats on the 8 eggies! Will be looking forward to your FERT report.

Julia- 12 eggs RIGHT ON!!!!! How are you feeling? I felt like poop for about 2 days and now I am just really gassy blah! WIshing you an awesome FERT report!

Neffi- has the RE talked to you about Viagra suppositories? My friend had lining issues and the Viagra helped. I know it sounds crazy but ask about it!

AFM- well had our ET this morning and now I am officially PUPO and in the 2ww. The RE tried to put two back but we insisted on 3 because in our history of IVF we have never had a BFP (except chemical) so I think it's impossible that we would have twins let alone triplets! Transfer went well and we did pre/post Acupuncture which was great. I am still in some pain from the ER and sorry if this is TMI but I have so much gas and gas pains!!! I have never had this before, my stomach looks like a balloon is inside and the pain from gas is horrible =[ I might have a mild case of OHSS, anybody else that has experienced this?
1st BETA is 11-7 and NO I will not be POAS this time. I cannot bring myself to see a stark white line, I just can't. I am also going to tell my nurse to leave me a message on BETA day so that DH and I can hear it at home and together, it just seems right that way. Hopefully they will comply.
Our blasts were 3 beauties, but that doesn't mean much since we know my egg quality (Chromosomal) isn't great. 1 Expanding blast and 2 just about to expand but all 3 at blast stage- yeah! Nevertheless I have faith in God and my Embabies that if this is meant to happen there is nothing that will stop it. I will not be analyzing any symptoms (if I start too tell me to stop LOL). I am just going to enjoy the 10 days with my embabies and hope, no PRAY for the best.
