Hi Ladies…I have a question on the Climara (estradiol) patches. I know it says to put them on either your abdomen or your buttocks, is one of those spots better than the other? I am still doing Lurpon shots and wasn’t sure if I were to put the patch on my abdomen if that would interfere with the shots or get in the way.
I am on my FET cycle (had a failed IVF back in Feb. I was 7 or 8 days away from my transfer when my lining went from 8.4 to 6.2 So I was put on the patches along with 2mg of estrace pills 3x a day and my transfer has been postponed for now if everything goes well.
I usually put them on my lower abdomen for convenience sake. I did the Lupron injections up closer to my belly button so they didn't interfere. However, at some points I had to wear 6 patches at a time and change them every other day, therefore, I had to use my buttocks. You cannot put them in the same spot that you just took them off of, it is very irritating to the skin to try to do that. I tried to give them at least six days to heal before reusing the same spot. However, if you are also doing PIO injections, be sure to place the patches low enough not to interfere with that as well.
