Hello everyone. Just a quick update as I am still a little out of it. ER was today and didn't quite go as planned. We got 8 eggs from one ovary, and my doctor said that he couldn't retrieve the eggs from the other one because there was a large vessel in the way! Have any of you ever heard of this?? He said since there were only 3 he didn't want to get them laproscopically either. Soooooo, we only have 8. I am a little disappointed to say the least. Hopefully 8 really is enough!!

Kim- First off congrats on making it past the ER! This was the hardest step for me. I had my ER on October 26th and I went with my hubby and momma so I had plenty of support but I was scared to death! I was back in the recovery room getting ready to be wheeled back to the OR to start the procedure and I started balling! BUT, as you can see, I made it and so did you!

I was sitting next to another girl who was getting ready for her ER also and she had the exact same issue as you did. Her right ovary had a blood vessel that was keeping the doctor from gaining access. So she also had to only have her left ovary supply the eggs. I had never heard of that issue before her but now after seeing you post the same issue I see that it is possibly more common than I orginally thought. So dont be scared, your doctor knows what is best! Also, I got 11 eggs from BOTH ovaries, so dont feel too low about your 8...its still a good number! Out of the 11 eggs by our day 5 transfer we fell down to only 2 good viable embryos and although I was devestated that there would be none to freeze for a second round, God forbiding this time didnt work, we are choosing to look at this as Gods way of saying "This is all you need because this time is gonna work!!" God also knows whats best and if He didnt feel like 8 was enough, you would have had a different outcome. Trust in God girl!

Rosie - hoping for some great news tomorrow and 2 beautiful embryos to transfer. If it helps, the last frosty I have left is actually a day sixer. They did not think it was going to make it, but it pulled through. So that is still another option.

Leora - I'm sorry this must be a tough day for you. I hoping for some better news later this week. Thank you for posting the picture. its a great picture. My mother is Jewish, so I have been to Jewish weddings and never really knew why the groom dressed like that. Thanks for explaining!

Ninde - this morning I was sick with worry, but feeling better now Now I have another 8 days for the worry to build up again (see AFM below)

Blue - looking forward to hear your U/S results on Friday. It will be hear soon!

Jayne - I am holding out hope for good news tomorrow.

Kerpuppies - glad you are feeling better! Hoping for some good news tomorrow and lots of blasts got biopsied. How long until you hear the results? I want to say mine took a week or so, which was so hard to wait for! Each time 50% of mine tested genetically normal. Which means one of the two that were left each time.

Amanda - what a touching story. Thank you for sharing it and I am glad you found some strength from it.

Kim - 8 is great It only takes one. Each time for me I think I got 8 or maybe 9 and in the end one viable embryo. But thats all we need in the end.

AFM - things still look on track with the U/S this AM. The embryos are measuring where they should be and heartbeats were 139 and 142, which sounds good. Beta was over 150K. I go back again next Wednesday the 16th and if everything still looks good they will officially discharge me to my OBGYN. I'm starting to let myself think this might actually work this time?!

Rosie: Im really crossing everything for you this evening for the transfer tomorrow, really really crossing. What is your RE like? In the 60s and 70s adoption was huge here, and although they were legal, they wern't ethical. Mothers who wern't married were co-erced into giving up their babies. It was an awful situation as the adopted child in Ireland has absolutely NO rights to information on their birth parents or circumstances of their birth. My dh is adopted and I've seen how hard it was for him. Now, the push is to keep babies with the mothers (often in awful situations) so we have swung the oppostive way as often these things do. So now every adoption is inter-country. However, most countries arn't signed up to the Hague Convention and Ireland will ONLY deal with Hague-convention countries. Its an outrage. It also looks like we will be turned down for adoption because of my husband's MS. Again, an outrage - I can apply as a person in my own right and would be approved but we won't be approved as a couple. I'm furious and frustrated all in one go. However, I'll appeal any decision the Health Authorities make here on the grounds of civil rights if I have to.

Outlaw: I hope your follicles do grow and your E2 goes down, this is a really tough time.

Leora: I know I sent you a message earlier, but how are you doing - if that isn't an incredibly stupid question?

Jayne: I'm sorry, but please please take heart from what the other ladies have said - it may just be too early. And my goodness, I'm sure your little baby girl waiting for you in India will be just a beautiful joy for you. Thinking of you x

Amanda: What a beautiful experience you had with that little girl. YOu are a really strong woman and I'm absolutely rooting for you and supporting you from Ireland

Lyd: I think you are way beyond 4 weeks - your D&C was well before mine and I will be 5 weeks post mine on Thursday?

Kiminish: 8 is good and hopefully they will all fertilise. But what the heck is a 'large vessell?!!! How are you feeling after the er?

Bodie: Oh wow, that is just wonderfuly - I'm thrilled for you!!!! Oh here is hoping the next 8 days fly.

Afm: Having accupuncture tomorrow which im glad of, I'm hoping it might spur AF on~!!

Samantha~ thanks for sharing the story about the woman. Makes me feel a little better that maybe it is more common than I know. I just never thought this would even be a possibility(not retrieving all the eggs) because the first time around, I had no problems and retrieved 15 eggs. Thank you so much for your support! I do believe:)

Bodie~ I don't think I ever formally congratulated you, so Congratulations!!! I know it only takes one, but I guess I always want more!!

Ninde~ I am feeling ok, thanks for asking. I slept most of the day. I did have one bad wave of nausea when I stood up from the couch. Luckily I did not pass out or anything!! My RE explained that there was a large blood vessel in the way and he could not safely gain access to my left ovary. Of course I was still groggy from the anesthesia and didn't think to ask many questions. I just wonder why we didn't have this problem last time we did an ER???

Hopefully I will get the fertility report in the morning. I will keep you updated:)

Oh Ninde, you just gave me a really good idea! I scheduled my accu for Thursday. And that stuff really works, too.

Yes, it was like 2 months since my d&c. I guess I was couning since my beta went to zero. It's been too long no matter how you look at it.

Hi guys, haven't posted in a while...

We had a failed cycle back in June and were a little down. Only 3 eggs were retrieved and none of the embryos made it

Well, we tried a FET just now with 5 days blast from our first cycle. Had first blood test on Tuesday (8 days after a 5dt) and hade a Beta of 146! BFP!!! Second Beta yesterday (thursday) was 284! So far so good. Keeping fingers crossed. Next blood test will be on Tuesday, the 7th...

All I can say is stay patient, relax and believe because this can work for you even after failures!

Well, nothing goes smoothly or stress free I guess...

Third beta taken 4.5 days after previous one came back at 886 (14 days after a 5 day FET)...

No idea what to make of this. Last one 4.5 days ago was 284. The doctor said he wanted to see it go over 1000 but that he wouldn't worry and they'll do another test Thursday morning. I am praying this works out...

Jayne- the only info we got was age, race, major medical problems, and an idea of what they look like. there are many options with donor embryos if you use miracles waiting or snowflake and its like adoption where they choose you from a profile. It is expensive that way. My clinic had donated embryos, so we thought we would give it a try.

We-- can you update me to FET 12/9 thanks

AFM-- baseline today. Things look ok. AF is still here and that is long for me (day 4) RE cannot do FET the week I should do it so I will stay on Lupron longer and start Estrace and Viagra on the 19th with FET on 12/9 if all goes as planned. I really hope my lining cooperates this cycle. Viagra was $600! It made me cry to think that I am putting us in even more medical debt for something that may not work! But I simply cannot give up until I have tried everything becasue I am a WHAT IF kinda person! I cried alot today thinking about how I will come to terms with not having another baby. I don't want to live everyday wishing....

Leorira, (aka Leora)- Thanks girl, I see there is only two ways to look at any given situation and it's up to us on how we react back. Nobody here knows what tomorrow holds yet, at the same time we do know if we ever stop trying we'll never know what could of been. It's been a long journey to say the least and I really admire your endurance, we know deep down that anything worth having in life is not meant to be easy. Btw I really loved your wedding picture, how did you do meet? I alsways love to hear the romantic stories of how others meet. Of course when "Harry Met Sally" is playing I'm glued to the TV.

Ninde, God does work in mysterious ways...It's good you had a client who could relate to what you're going through and you could shed some tears together, that reminds me we are never alone in this journey no matter what. I hope you enjoy your visit tomorrow with the acupuncturist.

Amanda, I loved reading your story about the little girl wanting your help in washing her hands, and you know someday you'll be holding your child up to the sink and think back to this day and know all the torment and grief you went through to bring home your baby was all worth it.

jayne, Never ever give up! We know this is so worth fighting for, one way or another it's going to happen for those who keep trying and keep the faith girl, I will be praying for you!

AFM: Debating on testing tomorrow morning still, I have to be a work that afternoon and I would be feeling it's all over for this cycle if I test too early, I don't want the confirmation. I like not knowing because it then gives me the sense that there is still a chance and I can get on about my day if everything is ok. In reality I'm probably just chicken, good grief. I probably should test, either I am or I'm not again....please pray for me that I am or maybe pray that I don't let it ruin my day!

No idea sunshine. We transferred 2. I just hope the beta jump is fine and the pregnancy is healthy and sticks. I'll post e results of the next beta on Thursday night regardless of results. We had a chemical before and I think we are too sensitive to beta numbers since then. I hope all is fine.

Would anyone else be nervous about beta numbers like what I posted 3 posts above?

neffi- Glad that your baseline went well today. I really hope that hte estrace and viagra work for you. I think it will this tiem. I will be praying for you. Viagra is so overpriced. Not even funny how expensive. I understand your want and desire for another child. I pray that you get it!

Hope- I am sorry that your beta did not come out higher... I really hope that things continue in the right direction and that all will continue to go well! Thinking of you and praying for you!

AFM- laying on the couch. Feeling tired. its only 9pm. Usually I cant seem to fall asleep. But I am a crazy hormonal lady injecting my legs with needles that seem to touch bone. Ouch.. SOrry that image just hurt me. hehe.. see. Ihave conversations with myself. Wrote a two page letter to my DH and well I had a conversation with myself. All it was over if we decide not to sell what I would want done to the house. I think that I am losing it. I am going to POAS because I have an obsession with that and i need to do it. I am thinking of you all and I hope that you all had a great day. Iam so glad to have this place to come to talk, vent and get advice. It seems like most people just dont understand. Thank you all for your friendship, prayers, and continued support. The nurse called me today. My hormone levels are good so we are ready to go for the hysteroscopy, D&C, and endometrial biopsy on November 18th. RE needs my lining to remain this so I started BCP tonight.

Maria, I'm keeping you in my prayers too. This sounds like so many tests, but it will be reassuring to know what's all going on. With all these test, maybe it will help prepare your body and make time fly by to bring January right around the corner! It's good that we have plans to move forward with your upcoming FET.
