I think you're doing the right thing by being very sensitive towards your friend's feelings. I would not discuss the symptoms with her unless she asks how you're doing. As for your nervousness, I know exactly what you mean! But your day of confirmation that all is well is almost here! :D

Blueeyeddreamer- Good luck at your u/s this week. I can't wait to hear about how you see that perfect HB. :D One of my BFF's lost a baby (stillbirth    ) just in July so I know exactly how you feel. She made it easy for me because she told me early on that she still wanted to keep up with my pregnancy. Still, I can see the pain in her eyes sometimes when I talk about it so I am very, very, cautious. I would say give her a little time and just be there for her and avoid discussing your pregnancy. Then I would talk with her about how she feels? Better to know or not know? The elephant in the room might be harder to deal with than with details of the pregnancy itself. I have learned that we all deal with this differently (It never bothered me much to hear others joy when I was going through infertility but I know others are very different). Just be there for her.

Tuffy- I don't know who is going to be first, but it better not be me! :-) I still have too much to do.

Mora- I am still sending you lots of love and vibes and I am sure your LO is going to turn out just fine. 1 in 200 are VERY low odds indeed. But we all still worry...it won't be long though before you see for yourself that you have a perfect little baby.

AFM- Well, I failed the one hour test...and I officially DESPISE my old OB. Why? I was notified of my failure and my need to call to schedule a 3 hour test via the mail. Since I have been out of town I received this notice a full 2 weeks after the test. Sheesh...

We worked on putting the nursery together today (or at least DH did while I supervised ;-)We have a bit more to do so I will share photos when its completely done. I am moved back home now from the inlaws. They came back from Cali early so we had our contractor hurry up to get one toilet and a shower hooked up so we could move back in and sleep on our enclosed porch. The house should be done by Thanksgiving, but even though we are so close almost all the rooms are still awaiting finishing touches. The only rooms that are done are the kitchen, the porch, and the nursery. But that is all we need! Just enough to keep from having to rent somewhere or live with the inlaws. It feels amazing to be home after 5 weeks.

Work is totally stressing me out. I have 14 reviews to write prior to going on a 2 week vacay at the end of the year. We are also in peak budget/planning season so I am working 12-14 hours a day. Plus my boss and all my product parters are being dweebs. So many people keep telling me how concerned they are about my leaving and how it will affect my team's performance (despite the fact I have a good plan and strong coverage in place). They all mean it as a compliment and are genuinely very supportive, but every time I hear it it causes a little pang of guilt. We do have a short week this week for Veteran's Day so I really can't complain. Plus all this craziness right now is going to be worth it for a peaceful 2 weeks off at year end. I plan to spend every moment on Evie, Evie, Evie!

Attached is me and the big BUMP on Halloween. I wore it to our first child birthing class to embarrass DH. Oh...and I almost forgot...I chopped my hair off about a month ago. Its my official "mommy do". I have naturally wavy hair that when long takes a LONG time to fix. The new do is wash, air dry with a little product, and GO!

Thinking of you all and hoping the quiet on the board means you are all doing marvelously.

XOXO,

Alisa

Hello everyone! I'm so sorry that I have been MIA. Work has been very stressful. I've been leaving my house at 7:00 am and getting home at 8:30 pm. On Friday I was on my way home from work, had just merged on to the highway, called my husband on my bluetooth, and then started vomiting uncontrollably all in my car.... I think the combo of pregnancy and stress was a little much. Fortunately I had a very good relaxing weekend. I have to work tomorrow, but the I leave for a conference in Vegas. DH is going with me to the conference, so we're going to stay a bit longer and have a babymoon! I'm thinking I need a maternity massage while I'm there! We had our anatomy scan this morning, and everything looked perfect. Twin A is a BOY! He is measuring at 18 weeks 4 days. Twin B is a GIRL! She is measuring at 18 weeks 2 days. All of my screening was great, so everything is going along as planned! It was such a relief to see the babies looking so good, and we're thrilled to have one of each! I've found all of my furniture, and I think I'm going to order it as soon as we get back from Vegas. It's starting to feel much more real now that we know the genders.

I'm way behind on personals, but it's so exciting to see new faces! It sounds like everyone is progressing nicely which is wonderful!

Ester- I'm so excited to see you on this board! Those babies are just moving along!

Alisa- I love the Halloween shirt! Congrats on the move back to your house! I know that must be a huge relief! I'm sorry that you failed your 1 hour test. That's pretty awful that it took 2 weeks to find out! I completely understand the work stress...don't feel guilty. You've worked hard for Evie!

Smoon- I know you wrote to me a while ago, and I'm sorry that it took me this long to respond. It's so good to hear that you are doing well! I really appreciated your support when I had my miscarriage in May, and I'm so glad to be on this board with you!

As far as traits...
Both DH and I are perfectionists...which is great...but we're also really high strung. I don't want my babies to be quite as high strung. I do want them both to have our drive and ambition though. Physically, we're both fair-skinned, but I would love for them to be blond like me. DH has a lot more athletic ability than I do, so I really hope that they inherit his athletic ability. I am extremely uncoordinated. I am very stubborn, so I hope they don't get that trait. I am very cautious, and I do want them to get that...hopefully less crazy ER trips!

Ugh!!!

I started bleeding tonight and went to the ER just absolutely certain I had already lost our little girl. I hadn't felt her move much all day but I also had a pretty full and stressful day. Turns out baby is just fine and everything looked good on the ultrasound. They don't know what caused it and are keeping me overnight for monitoring. Cervix is closed up tight and I'm not having contractions. Placenta, cord and fluids look great. The bleeding has stopped so assuming everything continues to go well they will send me home tomorrow. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Oh~ Alisa sorry to hear about that and thank god that Evie is fine. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
Be safe and rest well.

Wishing- congrats on having both gender ( envy you) Congratulations again!

Asf- about the traits. I just hope that our little bundle of joy can get what DH has. I totally love everything about him.
Kailey now a days are really active. She keeps on kicking from day till night. But i'm glad she's kind not to give me discomfort in sleeping. All I complain about is how heavy and big my belly now which I can't find the most comfortable position when sleeping. Last week had my NST and every went well. At 29 weeks and 1 day exactly Kailey's 2.8 lbs. I asked about her size they can't tell us but instead she told us that Kailey's face measuring 7 cm. And I gained 20 lbs. but the doctor said nothing to worry about my weight it's normal. My sugar level too was fine, the placenta, cervix etc. all looked great. Now I'm just waiting for my next appt. which is next week and I'm excited to see her once again. Only 64 days to go and she's here! Both families are excited and thrilled for her arrival..... But DH is the most excited one LOL

Hope to have everyone a pleasant day!

smoon0021- How awesome! I can't wait to feel my little buggies move. Glad that she's not interrupting your sleep though  Congrats on the great results of your sugar level test. She's almost here!

Alisa- Oh no!!! What a scary moment that must have been! I'm so glad that Evie is looking good & that they are keeping an eye on you! By the way, you look so cute in the pumpkin shirt...I love it!

deftonesmo- Woohoo...you're in the 3rd trimester...so exciting!

Wishingandhoping- Yay...1 of each...that is awesome news! I know what you mean about it feeling more real now that you know the sexes. Once we know next month, I think it will hit me & the real planning will begin...rearranging things in the house, buying furniture, etc. How was your babymoon?

dogzrule- How are you feeling? You're almost halfway there!

blueeyedreamer- Can't wait to hear about your u/s today!!! I can totally relate to all the symptoms you are having as I just finished my 1st trimester. I still have some of them. My major symptom was total exhaustion! I hope they don't get too bad for you.

tuffy4u- How is everything going? You're about 9 weeks now, right? Are you starting to show yet? Yes, my DH can be very sweet :P

Felicia- I can't wait for you to join us. I totally understand waiting. I did the same.

AFM- I'm doing good. Now that I'm in the 2nd trimester, I'm starting to get my energy back. My appetite is increasing & my belly is getting bigger. I posted some bump pics in my previous post. I hate that I have to wait almost 4 weeks until my next u/s (December 8th)...I hope the time goes by fast. So, we'll be doing a gender reveal dinner with our families. DH will be the only one who knows the buggies' sexes (doctor will write them down on a piece of paper). DH's job will be to buy a present for each buggy (his 1st gift to them from him) & the gifts will have to indicate the sexes (ex: pink booties, "Mommy's little prince" shirt). He will also be in charge of ordering cupcakes that will be filled w/ pink or blue frosting...we'll need 2 sets. The following weekend, we'll be going out to dinner w/ our families & after we finish our meals, DH will give me the gifts. I will open them in a way where only I will get to see what the gifts are. This way I will know right before everyone else. Then, everyone will bite into their cupcakes. This will also give me an opportunity to be free to watch everyone's reactions. I so cannot wait!!!  By the way, tomorrow, I will hit my 100 days of being preggo...woohoo!!! I'm so grateful!

QOTW: What traits/characteristics do you hope the Little One inherits from you? Which do you hope he/she picks up from DH? Which do you hope he/she doesn't pick up??? (and remember...many traits can be learned so your little one doesn't have to be your genetic offspring to participate in this question!)

My answer: I hope they get DH's blue eyes, smile, & darker skin (or at least the ability to tan & retain a tan). I also hope they get his care-taker personality, ability to put others before him, intelligence, people skills, humor, athletic ability, & so much more. From me, I hope they get my lips & small nose & ears. I also hope they get my love of teaching, reading, & travelling/cultures. Overall, I just hope that they are healthy & live their lives to the fullest & pursue their dreams!

Ester- your gender reveal sounds terrific and oh so cute. Congrats on 100 days! I remember that being a really big deal. LOVE your bump pics. Doesn't it feel great to be showing??? I loved it (and still do).

AFM-

Thanks so much for the kind thoughts and prayers.

I am home again and doing fine. They still don't know exactly what caused the bleeding but suspect it is just a small vessel in the lower part of the placenta or cervix since the bleeding was brief and moderate. I am on pelvic rest and no exercise until I have had a week with no bleeding or residual bleeding. Lucky me, I can still work. LOL.
