Ghost...anyone chime in!

Post by SamanthaRae21 »

I tested Saturday 12dp 5dt and came up negative. I used morning pee. Called nurse and she says that I may just not have enough HcG in my sytem to register on a urine test, which is why they wanted me to wait for the blood test tommorow. She still feels strongly I have all the reason in the world to be hopeful.

Is it normal for women to test on HPT and come out negative because of low HcG amounts in urine...?
Me 24- Polycystic Ovaries, but not PCOS. Ovulate normal, Normal AF every month.
DH 26- No Issues...well not fertility wise, but can be a nerd at times. ;)
#1 IVF-
ER- 10/26 11 eggs
5 day ET- 2 viable embies
1st BETA scheduled for 11/14!
Result: BFN :(

It happens all the time, only the beta will give you an accurate answer. Some women metabolize hcg slower than others. I had negative FRERs even on the morning of my beta which was a 65 and should have come up a dark line since these tests are supposed to pick up hcg at 25 iu. Never give up hope until your beta results are in. Wishing you a BFP! Good luck!

It does happen often enough, as Katie said.

However, your clinic is testing fairly late for a day 5 transfer. Should I continue with what I am saying here?

I have friends that didnt show positive on their urine tests for weeks after period was due, Ghost...and 2 weeks is a standard waiting time...Hense "2ww" I cant believe that I have no chance of coming out positive tomorrow.

Most clinics do day 3 transfers, and with day 3 transfers it's usual to wait 14 days. With day 5 transfer, the test is usually sooner, 10 or 12 days.

I'm not saying you have no chance.

Samantha - the "2 week wait" is from ovulation. "Ovulation" for IVFers is retrieval day. So if you do a day 5 transfer, technically on transfer day you are 5"dpo" (days past ovulation). So for IVFers, especially 5 day transfers, a "2ww" is actually a bit less.

I'm so sorry hon. I hope you get a big surprise, but this isn't a good sign.

Big hugs.

Best of luck. I hope the HPT was just wrong.
