Just wanted to let you know that I bought two books on twins through amazon. Tracey's advice is invaluable!! I ordered them one day and they arrived the next, so was perfect becuase I wanted them there and then too!

I am 8 weeks 5 days pregnant with twins but wanted to know what I am in for. The first book was Double Trouble and I read it in 1 day. I really enjoyed it, it was quite funny and had a lot of good information which I am sure will come in useful. No horror stories either.

The other book is 'Everything you need to know about a healthy twin pregnancy'. This I haven't read yet. I'm trying to make it last. Will let you know though.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

hi girls,
feel more positive this week, abit less overloaded with work which helps, although there are a few more days to go before I can stop completely. I sleep very badly though but I guess at this stage this is normal, least of my worries.
Tracey, thanks for the tips on the books, will order them as soon as possible, amazon takes a bit longer over here but I should have them in a week. I am also supporting Portugal now, like that country very much, people seem a bit melancholic and lacking self confidence just like in Bulgaria where I come from, lifestyle is not so different either...
Alisonn, I had not seen your messages for a couple of days and was shocked to see what a scare you had, hope all is quiet now, wrote you a message on your other thread...
Shellie, you are quick to prepare I must say I've been living in ignorance till now but this will change soon. :) That's what comes from having such a good information source as Tracey around!
love to all,
juliana

HEllo you two

Happy weekend - just a word of warning re the everything you need to know about a healthy twin pg book - it is the opposite of double trouble as not in the least funny and please take some of it with a pinch of salt. As I said (and hope didn't offend anyone) it can be very American biased and we are very different to them and some of the stuff is slightly ott - both just please ingore the how much to eat and weight suggestions. My hospital laughed their gowns off when I told them as said the weight suggestion was ludicrous and would end up with a heart attack. As long as the twins are growing they take what they need and you are left with the rest - they totally ingoring weighing you these days.
Shellie left you a message about where to buy stuff - there is a very good book you can get by "which" - also off amazon called the "which guide to buying baby equipment" or something - it really is rather good and does not nec swing to any one manufacturer. I am def an ebay convert and when you two have a spare day will tell you what I got and what I have saved!
Love to you both

Hello to all twin mummies (to be!)

The best bit of advice (and this is coming from someone who seemed to have every drama possible to deal with - hey thats the way I like it!!), is to REST REST REST!!! Cos you damn well don't get chance once they arrive!

Seriously, I went into hospital at 27 weeks and the only reason I made it to 34 weeks was because I sat in bed all day and watched Philip and Fern (daytime tv to those outside the uk!!) Its the best thing you can do.

Tracey Sharp I do hope you are reading this (you will be cos you read everything!), this includes YOU! So no more being dragged round by Gabbie, start putting your feet up and taking it easy!

Lisa - I can't believe you're 37 weeks, it seems like five mins since you got a positive and now look..........

Juliana - hang in there, you are at the point that I went into hospital and me and the girls are fine, so I'm sure you and your babies will be fine too!

Lots of love to you all and I can't wait to log on and hear all about your births!! Won't be long............

Much as I love you Nik have to disagree with you on one point  Nothing changed there - we often have our little tete a tetes don't we on some subject or other!
Walking Gabbie - all the specialists and consultants and midwifes think it is great I am doing this and no harm to me or the babies and keeping me fit and healthy and only doing good things. Obviously it is hard work and have to listen to my body so I do less walking just takes me twice as long to do it  Then at weekends let DH do it.There you go - they think it's fine so will carry on for as long as I feel up to it. I always put my feet up for around 4 hours in the day - one of which I sleep - or more.

Great to see you back if only for a couple of threads
Love

I didn't say don't walk her, I think you'll find I said don't get dragged around!!!!!

It is good that you can still walk her - I was walking arthur and jeremy two miles every day until I got locked up. I'm convinced that had I carried on, I wouldn't be sat here with three stone to lose!!!

Keep it up. But do REST aswell!!!!

Great to have you back - miss our banter :(
Will be interesting to see if you are right about the weight thing. We thought you looked wonderful anyway when we say you but you were doing massive walks before I know and to suddenly stop and be virtually bed bound - that is why I have been careful though lucky not to have placenta praevia obviously. I reckonyou would have walked the dogs right up to the birth otherwise.

Will rest though.
Juliana - sorry taken over the thread again - how are you. Shellie - started shopping yet?

Hi Tracey and Nikola,
It is quite refrreshing to have your banter on the thread again! Nikola, very glad to hear from you, also encouraging that you seem to have a few minutes now to write, i was quite imprssed how busy you are! Thanks for the advice, i think rest is really the key, at the same time execrise is great, so I agree with Tracey too :) ?! At this stage i am starting to find that my body does warn me when I am overdoing it so I try to mix some walking with rest in the afternoon and a nap. I don't seem to be able to sleep very well at night, don't seem to be able to lie on my back any more as it feels as if the bump presses my heart or a big vein and i get breathless - I don't quite get what it is but it's annoying! But these are small inconveniences, as long as the weeks pass i am happy. and I have only another week or so to work, working very few hours now anyway, so a major stress is going away, thank god!
love to you both,
Juliana

Juliana

Not long now until you can be off! The bump presses down on your diaphragm when you are large like that so side sleeping is the only option.

You sound on top of things - keep it up hun
