Ghost-- frozen embryos

I went in for my consult yesterday. We want to transfer 2 of our 4 remaining donor embryos to try for a sibling for our little boy. I know every clinic is different, but I am a little freaked out because they could not "find" the embryos in their system yesterday. They claim that they changed systems since I was a patient there, and I am sure they did, but with our luck I can't help but worry that they discarded them or something. They said they would call and let me know when they varify how many embryos we have, but I have not heard back yet. Is this something I should be worried about???? We have not paid any storage fees, but were never asked to. We were self pay and our RE did not make us pay any of his fees for the last couple cycles, I think he felt sorry for us!

That is a little disconcerting.

Sounds like the new system is making it difficult to look up which straw holds your embryos? They should still have your embryos.

Would that mean that they don't know which ones are mine, or just that the computer does not know???? We went through a lot to get those embryos!!!

I would be furious and Id be sitting in their office until I got some answers! This process is hard enough without unnecessary hurdles to go through! I'm praying for the safety of your embryo's and peace of mind that they are found and you know where they are! UGH!

Perhaps they just need to pull the original archived medical record?

Thanks ladies. I am pretty nervous, but I am trying not to freak out, for my hubby's sake. They were acting like it was not a big deal, but I am sure they wouldn't have told me if it was.

They acting like they were looking into the old system when they did not show up right away. But they were still not "seeing" them. I couldn't really get wether they were having trouble getting into the old system, or if they were in and were still not seeing them. I have been hoping for a call today, but have not got one. I will call as soon as school lets out. I will update you ladies and ghost. Thanks for the concerns.

We are just guessing, but it may be a data system issue. Maybe somebody needs more training, or maybe the data conversion from the old system was not done correctly, or some issue like that. Maybe they just might need time to get it right.

You should call them and nicely ask for more information. Keep in mind, whatever the problem, they want it solved as much as you do.

So, I called yesterday and really know nothing more. She said that they put in an order to the lab, to verify our embryos. But they had not heard back from the lab. The nurse was really niced and seemed to be understanding, but that did not really make me feel any better. Hopefully they will call today!

So, my hubby talked to a lady at the clinic today and had better luck! She said that only a few people could get full access to the old system and she was one of them. When she got back to her computer she checked for us and called back after hours to tell us that the system does show our 4 embryos, she even commented that they seemed to be good quality

. I am relieved to know that they did not some how dissappear!! Thanks for the thoughts.
