Hi ladies! No news for me here, still waiting on my biopsy results. They should be here any day so I'm getting antsy. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with both of our mothers visiting. You know it's a good holiday when you don't even get on the computer!

Not many personals today but -

Alexis - your estrogen sounds close to my level and I DID hyperstimulate this cycle. I didn't feel the symptoms until after ER though - I think the trigger shot was wat pushed me to OHSS. You'll know it if you are - SO bloated, hard time breathing, and you'll put on several pounds of fluid in a day or two. Keep an eye on that - hope it doesn't happen to you!

Kerpupples, thank for the information on the hyperstimulation. I hope it doesn't happen. This time I got so sore from my trigger shot; I was amazed! Keep us posted on your biopsy results!

Michele, it was so good to hear from you again. I'm sure this past week has been SO emotionally draining for you. Hang in there. That's great news about your husband's "all clear" for TESE in the OR! Keep us posted with how the stims go for you.

SueQiwi, thanks so much for the kind wishes for my ER. Keep us posted when you are starting your cycle in January.

LYD10, let us know how your U/S goes! Hopefully everything looks great and you'll be starting your stims this weekend. What day is your birthday?

Happy Bunny, so excited for your ultrasound on Friday! You'll have to let us know how it goes. I totally know what you mean about time going by so slowly! The worry that goes along with IVF and trying to conceive (and even after) is unbelievable! You just want everything to be perfect.

Neffi, I'm sorry your appointment didn't go as well as you had hoped on Monday...I will definitely be thinking of you for Friday though...I hope the lining creeps up for you!! Isn't it so frustrating when you can't control how your body responds to things?

AFM, I had my ER this morning and everything went well. Our clinic just got a new doctor so I met him for the first time today. They got 8 eggs, so hopefully a high number of them will fertilize. Our plan is to transfer on Friday or Saturday. In the past we've done day 5 transfers, so I don't think that is the best timing for my embryos...we'll see if my "gut" feeling is right. I am less uncomfortable with this ER than most of my others, so I'm feeling good. Now, it's to the waiting game for the phone call tomorrow. The morning hours feel like they go in slow motion when you are waiting for the call for how many fertilized.

Talk to you ladies soon and keep us posted on your progress/appointments!

Hey Alexis--congrats on eight eggs! That is super. How does it compare with your previous cycles? I am crossing my fingers you have 100% fertilization! Hang in there--it is so tough to wait on those phone calls.

Hi SueQuwi-my number of eggs varies quite a bit between cycles. My first cycle for baby #2, we got 6, then the last one we got 12. We usually get some of them to fertilize (maybe 2/3), but we've never had any make it to freeze. I just hope we have some good looking embryos to transfer on Saturday (day 3)! I am super nervous because this is the first time we are considering transferring 3. I am a nurse and worked in ante-partum/high-risk ante-partum (pregnant moms in the hospital with complications), so I've seen how risky multiples (especially anything above 2) can be, so I am definitely nervous. I feel like we are gambling against statistics with IVF and it's so scary to do that with you life and potential future! Not to mention the financial impact of 2-3 babies (and a toddler), all in daycare!

Kerpupples- thanks for the information on your OHSS. How quickly did it start after retrieval? I feel fine so far, so hopefully that won't happen. I am amazed; out of my 4 total ERs, this one was the least uncomfortable by far! Did you hear anything on your biopsy results yet?

I hope you ladies are having a good week; I am so glad it's already Thursday! It's been a long week and I feel so distracted at work!

Alexis: What a great retrieval... 8 eggs is awesome. Best wishes for an equally great fertilization report. Are you completely set on a 3dt or are you going to wait and see what the embryos do in the lab?

I really hate the corners that IVF backs us into... So many women probably wouldn't transfer more than one if it wasn't so damn expensive to try each time. When you're $12,000 into a cycle and the doctor asks "2 or 3?", it's so hard because we feel like we need to have the best odds we can or it's another $12,000 or the end of the road. The decisions that we have to make are tougher than those at the high roller tables in Vegas. The doctor might as well drag in a giant glittery wheel for us to spin on transfer day.

Michele: Great news about your hubby! I had a small cyst during each of my IVF cycles. My RE said the same thing both times... "This isn't going to stop us or bother us at all".

Neffi: I'll be thinking about you tomorrow... Best wishes for a big, fluffy lining!

AFM: I'm waiting for my U/S tomorrow. Now that it's almost here, I don't want it to happen because I'm getting fearful of bad news. My husband is able to go with me which is something new. It will be nice to have support there and for us to get the information together.

Quick update; just got my call and they injected 6 eggs and 6 fertilized! I am very happy with this number and very thankful. My transfer will be a 3 day and will happen on Saturday. Beta will be on 12/14. Fingers crossed for success this time!

Barbara, we are set on a 3 day transfer this time; we did 5 day transfers the last two cycles and I don't think the embryo quality was as good on day 5 as it was on day 3. I also had the strangest feeling by about day 4 that I really needed the embryos back inside of me earlier. I definitely want to try going with my "gut" feeling this time. I think sometimes we know our bodies better than we think. We'll see! My son was a day 4 transfer and we transferred 2 and got him. He's so amazing everyday...I do feel so blessed to have him!

Lots of you go in tomorrow, so please send updates as soon as you're able! Baby dust to all!

Barbara, great news! I'm so happy for you! The two weeks waits are certainly brutal! I feel like waiting for my transfer is taking forever and it's only 3 days. Keep us posted and congratulations again!!

Alexis-- congrats on an amazing 100% fert report that is awesome!!!!

LYD- yay for starting meds. The follistim I thought was wasier than the menopur. No mixing

Barbara-- Congrats on you u/s! Two week to wait....why can't you go in a week to see the HB?

AFM-- got my 7.5 lining I needed! YAY! Transfer is scheduled for next Friday. And a birthmother contacted us yesterday with our adoption agency. She is young and unsure, but if that works out too I could be surrounded by lots of babies all at once! I'll take whatever I can get :)
Work Xmas party tonight and I can actually be happy and enjoy myself! Good news is so rare sometimes.....livin it up for today!

Awesome! A flood of good news!

Neffi: Great news on your lining! I was thinking of you today and I am happy to see a double positive update for you. I'm not sure why my RE wants us to wait until 7+ weeks to see the heartbeat, he did the same last time.

LYD: Congrats and best wishes for a successful cycle start!

Alexis: Best wishes for a great transfer tomorrow! Have you decided how many to transfer?

AFM: I'm finally starting to calm down after this morning's appointment. This time we transferred 3 on Day 3 and I had pretty nice betas so I was very afraid of twins. Don't get me wrong, twins are wonderful but I was fearful of a potentially more risky pregnancy, early birth and having my attention spread too thin among too many small children. I'm finally basking in the relief that we've got one and everything looks like it's going okay.
