Maria- You're very welcome! Every night and throughout the day I'm always praying I'm glad your DS is doing well. I completely understand how worried you are about him. When my Grandmother died I was really shocked how well my mom took it. I think she was too. Kids are amazing and seem to bounce back quicker than us though!!

I'm doing pretty well. Glad Christmas is around the corner!

Glad to here all the good news on here!! I have a question for you ladies,... we are stuck on how many embryos to transfer,.... i am only 25 so 2 seems like enough but im so afraid to make the wrong decision!! Any insight?

Bonnie - if this is your first cycle and your embies look good, 2 would be my inclination. Do you know if it will be a 3 or 5 day transfer?

Laura - that 10 cell sounds awfully promising! Now try not to stress too much in the 2ww. Will you POAS?

Maria - I just had a friend test positive for a clotting disorder after losing her baby. Their experience was terrible. She had a placental abruption at 27 weeks. After the emergency c-section their son survived for 4 days in the NICU but the abruption did too much damage for the poor little guy to survive. Hopefully these injections will prevent any complications with your next BFP! Good that you can take preemptive steps to avoid thrombosis issues as well.

Still no biopsy results here, so I decided to be pesky and leave a voicemail for my nurse. We're at 3 weeks and 2 days today, and even counting 2 holidays last week, I'd still think we have to be getting those darn results any day now.

Maria - i am glad they found the issue and will fix it for the next round. It sounds like you have a very good doctor! I am very optimistic that this next round will work for you now that you will be taking these additional injections.

LauraN - congratulations on teh transfer! how exciting!

Sunshine - thank you! my protocol is pretty straight forward - 150 follistim and 1 vial of menopur to start. then they up me to 2 vials of menopur. i usually retrieve 14 days after i start stims - so probably thursday dec 15th. and tentative transfer is scheduled for mon dec 19th. assuming my E2 doesnt get too high. if it gets too high and the uteral environment is not good for transfer then we will freeze and transfer later. but i am hoping i'll get to transfer this time and i am hoping it will work! so scary - i've only had 1 frozen cycle work for me. and no fresh ones. i did get an ectopic with a fresh cycle - sort of worked.

ladies - is everyone taking doxycicline (antibiotic) for their transfers? they have me and my husband on doxyciclene for 2 weeks before trasnfer.

also, i will not be able to do bedrest - except for the day of transfer. i'll bedrest that day and then back to work the following day. i think that's ok - it seems like less and less clinics require bed rest these days. what is everyone's experience been with bedrest?

Christy: oh lovely tree and bears!! My dog is the golden retrieved, the other labrador is my sisters. My guy is called bailey and he has the lovliest temperament. Completely mad but very love able

Lyd: we dont use the antibiotic but I have heard clinics in the us do. Also my clinic doesn't recommend be rest, just taking it easy day of transfer.

Gina: I know you were both upset and annoyed at your dh's niece. And you bought her the gift as a lovely gesture and it must have been awful in terms of what she did. But i would try to let it go if you can for two reasons. It sounds like she said some mean things to you, she knows what she did is wrong and she is being really defensive and she could be even worse if she is confronted by your husband and additionally she will never admit to what she has done. Secondly and this might be harder but because you gave her the gift it is hers to do whatever she chooses to do with it. Its a really ungrateful thing she did and it really wasnt nice but it was hers. That doesn't mean you dont have a right to be angry and upset but i would leave it.

Bonnie: in ireland if you are under 39 most clinics will only transfer 1 so at your age I definately wouldn't go for more than 2 but that might be more cautious than what you want.

Afm just getting ready to teach a workshop tomorrow. Im doing 'psychosexual issues in couple counselling'which is actually quite fun as well as informative speaking of, after all the sex talk of recent days do you know the latest study from durex says the global average for married or co-habiting couples to have sex is 109 times a year which is 2.1 times a week or every 3.3 days? just some of my gems for the students tomorrow

Gah! Clinic called back - they are now claiming it takes FOUR weeks for results because the genetic testing was microarray CGH. Well, the embryologist told me that and he said it would take 3 weeks. Plus I'm looking at this technology online and websites are saying one of the great things about microarray is that it can derive results in 24 hours. WTF! Now it's looking like my 2011 transfer may NOT happen. Their lab is closed for a week right around Christmas.

LYD - DH had to take doxycycline for 10 days before ER but I did not. He was going to ask why but I don't recall what they told him. Last I'd heard my clinic recommends bedrest, but I didn't do any at my previous clinic so I'm not sure what route I will take this time. I figure as long as I'm not out trying to lift cinder blocks or run marathons, my chances of that healthy embryo implanting should be the same as any other woman who doesn't require IVF.

Ninde - rarely do DH and I even reach that average. Kudos to all you love bunnies out there!

Kerpuddles~ Yep. I would have called too. And so annoying that it is taking that long. And don't feel too bad. I think 2x a week is max. I need my sleep.

Bonnie~ I agree with two. Risks really go up with triplets. Twins seem like plenty of work.

Lauren~I'm glad it went well today. And I'm hoping for some frosties for you. I always wished I had frozen embryos but I was never that lucky.

Maria~still thinking of you and your son. Glad that your son is doing OK. I have the MTHFR mutation. They have me take aspirin but I would like to learn a little more about it before my next IVF cycle.

Nicole~hoping you feel better with the Xanax. I hate to say it but I've taken it a few times and I've never felt any different. Ended up throwing mine away. A glass of wine was always better to help me relax.

LYD~Glad things are moving along. Hoping you get a positive pregnancy test for New Year's!

Ninde~ you're inspiring me to get off of my butt. I tried to run a few times but my ovaries were still very sore following the failed IVF. Now I have waited another week and I need to get moving again. It's always hard for me to get motivated again. Once I'm working out consistently, it's easy. Good for you!

Tess~ we're in the same boat. I'm still deciding whether to skip to donor egg or do another IVF cycle. I go back and forth.

AFM~ I found a few of you on FB. My real name is Amy Rayan. I picked Jayne for this board because I would really love to have a daughter one day and I really love the name Jayne for a girl. It's Indian (when spelled this way) and means "victorious". Seems appropriate. I also keep my IVF talk on facebook to a minimum and I've never told anyone that I would even consider donor eggs. Non-ivfers don't understand a lot of this stuff. To be honest, I'm not sure I did until I was one of them. Anyone who wants to find me on FB is welcome.

I have an appt with MD on Tuesday to discuss next steps.

Maria, No I wasn't on Lovenox with this cycle. It was quite a while ago. I ended up on it before the dr figured out I had MS. They thought my MS symptoms were because of blood clotting due to the Lupus anticoagulant. The lovenox wasn't specifically for the pregnancy, but because my blood thinners were not safe and Lovenox was.

Gina- Now I'm curious. It sounds like Ninde gave you good advice.

Jayne- I'm used to taking 1.0mg of Xanax instead of 0.5mg. It typically works for me but I think with this lower dose I will have to wait a little to notice it.

Blessed- Congrats! I'm sure it was a beautiful sight! Can't wait to hear about the next one!!!!

So, we start the 2 WW.....I'm determined to not go nuts like last time,we will see how that works out for me. I know the question came up as to whether or not I will POAS, TOTALLY, it's an addiction! I already want to...ha! I am torn as to when to do it though...I need to see how many I have left from my last cycle. Unfortunately, I do several a day when I start, so..... Last time I started the Wednesday right before the Friday beta.... my beta will be on the 16th..... so almost for sure I will start on that Wednesday. All the hcg from the trigger should be gone by that time, so it should be correct. So the rules from my clinic are 48 hours bed rest, then, the rest of the 2 weeks, light activity. And of course, no sex...in fact, no sex up until you see the heartbeat on the u/s.....

bonnieucwv- We transfered two. I am so thankful that one took and that we saw the heartbeat. Such an amazing sight. I hope that the u/s goes well tomorrow! I read what you posted earlier. I am 26 and we have transfered two both times, this is my second IVF. The first one I had a vanishing twin syndrome. My RE wont even transfer more than 2 because of my age and whatnot but the choice on one or two is up to you.. It was a hard choice for us but decided that two would be best for us.

Jayne- I hope that your Dr appoinment goes well on Tuesday. Thinking of you!

I know that I have missed a lot of you. I am thinking of you all. I am a little out of it. Long trip up and back but just so thankful that we saw a heartbeat. I feel like I may be able to breathe a little. I go next friday and I just seem to be anxious but so excited. I am so glad that there was a heartbeat and I was so nervous because the numbers started out so low. I am praising God right now for such a blessing, just praying that this pregnancy will continue on healthy.....
