Ghost !!! Bleeding after Internal U/S

Hi Ghost,
I had an OB Ultrasound today at 7 weeks 5 days and about 3 hours after I started bleeding. It's not anything to fill a pad but there were drops in the toilet and when I wiped (sorry) it was a good smear. I went to the bathroom about 45 minutes later and no blood. Was it because of the Ultrasound??? No cramping at all.

Help! If anybody else wants to chime in please do. I am terrified.

Try not to worry. If the bleeding did not continue, then it is most likely nothing. We have been pregnant 4 times, only one of those times gave us a baby, and the ONLY time I ever bled was with my successful pregnancy! The 3 miscarriages, I had no spotting at all. Did not start bleeding until after I already knew I was miscarrying. Hope you have a great pregnancy.

A little bleeding is very common, regardless of outcome. Be sure to tell your clinic about it, as always.

I had some bleeding after an internal u/s and after sex (that we weren't supposed to be having!) during my pregnancy with Brooke. It wasn't a gush of bright red blood but rather I saw blood on the paper after I wiped. The nurse said that the blood was probably from irritation of my cervix. I had a very normal and healthy pregnancy with Brooke.

Do call your clinic and get some reassurance. The stress from worrying is probably worse for you than the bleeding.

I had spotting/light bleeding off and on the whole first trimester during both pregnancies with no problems. You'll be just fine!

Try not to worry about the bleeding. I too had some bleeding with my son... after intercourse. So an U/S can def. also irritate the cervix, esp. since that area is a million times more sensitive during pregnancy... and will get increasingly more so as your pregnancy continues. Have a safe and smooth pregnancy.

Jen... I hope all has settled by now, but I wanted you to know that I had (TMI) run down the leg blood at 7 weeks that brought me to the ER. All was fine and it was just an irritated cervix (from crinone). I hope you have an easy, perfect pregnancy!
