Jen/Happy Bunny....Prayers & snuggled in baby thoughts coming both or your ways.....I know a lot of ladies have a lot of bleeding bordering on major blood loss and the babies seem to perceiver and are little survivors....so be positive and just stay calm if you can.

Hello everyone... I hope I can join this thread... I was on the Summer/fall board with most of you and after almost 7 years of TTC and 5 fresh cycles, my last FET worked!! I still can't believe it... I'm now 25 weeks but have been on "house arrest" bed rest for the past 4 weeks because I started contracting and dilating... So after working forever 50-80 hours a week, I'm couch ridden and trying to figure out what to do with all this time...

Have been afraid to join because I'm still afraid something might happen... but decided to overcome the fears and post for the first time in the PAT board... :D It seems surreal!!

Congratulations to everyone on this board!!!!

Jen - Happybunny : best of luck... I hope the bleeding spotting is nothing... and you both see your little ones on the ultrasound happy and moving all around!!!

I'm trying to catch up on everyone's progress... hope to post often and hope we all have a happy healthy nine months with very little excitement!!! 8) :D

Hugs to all and happy holidays!!!

BTW: my due date is March 25...
Any one else on "house arrest" or bed rest???

Let's see if I can capture all the updates...

Dogzrule! Yay on baby Alecia! Congrats on having another girl. And I may be biased but I LOVE the name.

Felicia- you are official now! Welcome!

Jen- your due date is officially posted now...so keep your PMA up!

Barbara- are you ready to make your participation official? If so just send me your EDD when you have a sec. How cool we are going to be on two pregnancy boards together.

Longtimerivf- girl!!! I have seen some people hold out on joining the pregnancy board in fear of jinxing it...but 25 weeks? ;-) I think its time mama! So glad you finally made it to the other side. And you have good company. I am just starting week 3 of bed rest. Do you know what you are having?

Hoping- I updated the gender for you. I had missed it earlier. Yay for another member of team pink!

Jen and HappyBunny- I'm praying for you both! I had several episodes of bright red bleeding at the beginning of this pregnancy, and everything was fine. I think IVFer's are more likely to have bleeding issues. My last episode was around 11 weeks, and then things seemed to calm down. I'll keep up the prayer!

Hi Longtimerivf,

Welcome to the board! Congratulations on your pregnancy. Do you know what you are having? Sorry to hear you are on bed-rest. It can be boring - but 5 more weeks and you will be in the clear. My doctor told me that after 30 weeks the chances of survival with very few long term complications rise dramatically.

I am in the same boat as you. At 17 weeks they detected shortening cervix and put a cerclage in place and around 20-21 weeks I started contracting (painless) although I wasn't dilating. So essentially from 17 weeks until now (30 weeks 3 days) I have been on modified bed-rest.

I remember feeling the same way as you about joining a group. I was almost scared I was going to jinx it somehow by being too happy about it.

My issues were caused due to a unicornuate uterus. Do you know what caused yours?

One thing I would recommend (which you are probably doing anyway) is to track your food - just so you know you are getting enough of everything. You tend to feel less hungry on bed-rest than otherwise. In case hunger is not an issue, tracking would still help you see if you are overdoing something. And it does take an hour out of each day :D.

What are you doing to keep yourself busy? Welcome again, this is a great place to share your journey.

Good evening ladies!

Bliss- I work for Patelco Credit Union- AT & T's Credit Union, have you heard of them? It's #3 in CA and maybe #12 or 13 in the United States. Based in San Francisco!

Just an update on the bleed and Ultrasound. PRAISE GOD! This little one is just fine!!! The bean has been measuring 3 days behind but as of today she has caught up!! Her HB was 170 BPM which the RE said was excellent- GO DRAMA BEAN!!!!!! I officially graduated from the RE today- yahoo!!

Happy Bunny-- how is the bleeding tonight? The RE told me today that bleeding is VERY common in IVF pregnancies and that I will probably continue to spot for another few weeks because he saw a little blood in my Uterus. Let me know how you are doing??

Question of the week-- I think the tradition that I would like to start would be buying an ornament every year. My Mom used to do it for us and I have a huge collection. I can't think of anything else but I am excited to see what you all have for suggestions. I am not very creative. LOL

Jen: WOO-HOO! I was stalking for you yesterday but I missed you b/c I go to bed so early. I'm so happy to hear that my bleeding buddy (lol) is doing okay! I'm still spotting... Ugh, will it ever end? I'm constantly wavering between optimism and doom. I have a scan on Friday and I promised myself that if everything is still okay that I will let the worry go, be happy, wear dark underwear and pee with the lights off.

EOE: I guess that I'm ready to join the board. I'm not a superstitious person but I had a little hint of fear at the thought of joining too early. Gotta let that go - what will be will be. I've been reading along here and there but it might take me a little bit to figure out what's going on with everyone.

AFM: I'm still riding the suck train to Spotsville. No matter how many times I read or hear that it's normal and probably okay, it's still frightening.

Question of the Week:

I love holiday traditions! Here are some of mine (a copy and paste from a thread in Parents after Treatment):

1) Making tree ornaments every year as a family. I started last Christmas when I was pregnant with Brooke. I put the ornaments in a canister and put in a note about how I was pregnant and looking forward to spending future holidays with her. My plan is to put notes in with the ornaments every year and for them to be read aloud as the tree is being decorated - kind of a little sentimental Christmas snapshot of our family every year for us to look back on.

2) A repeat present every year (my family gives me pistachio nuts). For Brooke, we'll be getting the US Mint coin set for her every year. For the new baby, we've decided on a USPS stamp set.

3) Each year, I plan to put a Christmas picture of the kids in a ornament photo holder to put on the tree so we can look back and see how much they've grown.

4) Christmas socks! In my family, silly Christmas socks must be worn on Christmas day.

Jen- Woohoo on the healthy drama bean! Its got to feel good that the little one is picking up the pace. I actually have heard of your CU but don't think anyone is in my CBA program from there.

Barbara- I LOVE the tradition ideas and I am totally stealing the ornament making! An OFFICIAL welcome to you! And how cool that you started a similar threat on the Parent's board. I honestly didn't know that when I started this thread!

AFM- we have always had the tradition on my Dad's side of the family that "Santa's Elves" (AKA my grandma) gives us one gift on Christmas Eve and its always pajamas so we look good in our new PJs for pics on Christmas morning. Everyone in the whole extended family receives a new set, even if you are "just passing through" like a lot of our past boyfriends and girlfriends. :D

Well when my grandma passed and we started hosting Christmas here I picked up the tradition. Its quite expensive but well worth it! This year I am particularly excited about it because for the first time ever everyone has the same color scheme. I is going to make for a gorgeous family pic!

Hello All!!
Blissful- Thanks for the welcome! Yeah... I've been afraid all these weeks... at 8 weeks we told our family and the next us one of the twins had passed away... so that was a huge blow... then I told people at work at 16 weeks and got sent home four weeks later... so that explains my insecurity!!.. Love your Christmas tradition!! must have wonderful pictures of the day after!!! How are you holding up on your bed rest??? What are you doing to keep busy?? we should start the bed rest thread!!!

Jen- I'm glad your drama bean is doing great!! I'm sure she's just getting your nerves ready for childhood and teenage years to come!!!

Happy Bunny- You'll have great news on friday on your ultrasound! ... try to stay positive!! and let me tell you: you're my inspiration!! after reading how you're pg with your second... I would definitely try that... (but not sure i can after all this bed rest)... congratulations!!! and love the ornament tradition!!! great way to start a "journal" for your kids!!

Hopingforamiracle- WOW 17 weeks... I will be on your same track soon!! Glad you made it to 30 weeks!! that's what I'm hoping for too... my DR said the same thing.... (I want 38...)... They don't know why I'm contracting so much... my job did require a lot of physical activity and running/walking around nonstop for 10-12 or more hours... but even now, I get a lot of contractions... What are you able to do on your modified bed rest? They let me walk around the house, but not do housework, and I can go out to a restaurant and come back... but I don't do that much because I start contracting soon after I move around... My contractions have been painful sometimes and they scared me half to death!! Thanks for the advice on tracking food... I occasionally did it, but seem to be eating really badly... have gained almost a pound a week since they sent me home... How are you doing with your weight gain?? I'm knitting, crocheting, reading and surfing the web!! not very useful stuff but makes the day go by!... What do you usually do??

Katieb- Glad to see you!!! try to stay positive!! you WILL have your baby soon!!! and hopefully your ss will stop making your life difficult!! it's almost time!! How amazing!!!

EOE - Hope you are all having wonderful a wonderful day!!!

AFM- not much to report... subscribed to some online classes to stay entertained... buying gifts online to send to everyone on the list... 8) it's nicer to buy presents in person, but this will do this year!!... All the family is going to meet at my moms house which is far away... so we will be celebrating by ourselves...
As for traditions: I don't think we have any except for the fact that everyone always flies in and makes sure they are there for Christmas... so I'm taking notes from all of your traditions and will run them by DH and start our own with your help!! :P hope you don't mind!!

BTW- blissful- I"m having a GIRL!! ... very excited!!!
In my DH family everyone has boys and in my family everyone has girls... so he's extra happy!!!
