Hello guys - so i've heard from the embryologyst - and we had 7 out of 10 eggs fertilize. that is really good for us! last time we only had 5 out of 11 fertilize, which was a real bummer. Embryologyst told me that my DH's sperm was better this time (he took Fertile Max and COQ10 for 4 months) but still she had to spend a lot of time searching for proper sperm to trasnfer. Well, she did good - we got 7 fertilized.

So the plan is - to divide the cohort into 2 parts and to transfer half on friday ( day3) and freeze the other half. Given my past history, i will most likely have about 3 embryos that develop on time and 4 slow embryos. So, we'll divide the cohort evenly - so that each attempt - the fresh and the frozen - will have 1-2 ontime embryos and the rest are slow embryos. We discussed my endometrium and whether it is possibly corrupted due to stims - but she thinks that it should be fine and my E2 never got very high - likely 3500 - and she thinks the environment should be good. She said if it was her that's what she would do. i tend to follow her recommnedations.

so the plan is to transfer on friday - bedrest for 1 day, because i cant really afford a longer one. and she said that she only recommends one day bedrest and then take it easy. i will try my best to take it easy over the weekend with a 2 year old. LOL! i'll let my DH do all the hard work of picking him up.

So new plan! Yeah I didn't lose hope or my will to fight!

Going to just try and go with a military hospital that does it pretty cheap. The only problem right now is I have to be there for 3 weeks. Emailed to ask if I can do most of the b/w and stuff here then come a few days prior but if not then I'll go alone for the first part then DH can come, at least after the consultation and beginning stuff. They give some money back but not sure how much but that's okay. We'll do that while working on saving for what we were wanting to do. It just could work the first try if they can get my meds to work well right from the start.

So, after Christmas I'm getting my butt in gear with eating healthy and working out. I def let myself go over the last couple of months. Once I get going on that, I'm making an appointment for some blood work I know I'll need, so I can get back on Metformin and my Thyroid med. Been a bad girl the last couple of years not getting them. I've had AF so much since giving up Met I don't want to go back on it, but I will if I need to.

Once I'm back on that stuff I'll get my referral in order and send it off! We can take Space A flights which are just $7 a piece and fly into the base there close by. We can drive the 2-3 hrs and stay with DH's parents during that time to save. I love them to pieces but I'll probably just stay in a hotel if I go before DH because of driving around there......I don't know the areas at all and don't want to bother with a GPS by myself and get something wrong. Plus I'll be tired going back and forth alone.

So that's the plan for now. So time to stop being lazy at taking care of myself and get ready. Ready for 2012!

Gina, that sounds like a solid plan. Also, don't be shocked if your IVF works the first time... IVF is one of those things, you never know what is going to happen and it does work the first time for a lot of people.

omg ladies i am getting sooooo anxious,...... its only been 3 days post embryo transfer and i am feeling like i might explode before the next 6 days are over!!!!!! I feel so nervous and keep trying to say stay calm and prepare for anything,... but it is so hard not to want to be excited and curious and i know it is only going to get worse until we have a lil one or two in our loving arms!!!!!! ohhh i just needed to get that out there lol

Hello everyone~Sorry I have been MIA. It has been a tough week for me. My mom's cancer is back and she has been in the hospital all week. She has a clot in her lung and the cancer (started as ovarian) has wrapped around the tube draining the kidney so now her kidneys are working well. She was released yesterday and looks better now. Her first dose of chemo will be tomorrow.

Gina~ so happy to hear your plan. Sounds very reasonable and exciting.

LYD~ congrats on the high fertilize report. Sounds promising. And I really hope you have something good to freeze too for the peace of mind. Thinking of you. Happy birthday!

Julia~ I had a hard time laying still for acupunture too. I liked laying on my side much better and my lady was OK with that.

Amanda~ I'm hoping for the surprise positive test that you deserve. What a relief that would be.

Ninde~ Yay for Christmas spirit. My son and I made a gingerbread house last night and had so much fun. The coconut (used for snow) mess on the floor this morning was not as much fun.

That's as far as I can go back for now. Son just woke up.

AFM~doing a HSG this cycle to look at my uterus to make sure that is not the problem. I'm on day 3 of my cycle. Went for ultrasound today and there is a cyst on my ovary but it is not secreting estrogen. Will go HSG in one week. Still debating on doing donor eggs or trying one more cycle with us.

Welcome girl you have found a very supportive group of ladies here. Sometimes we can get off on a crazy mood but it's our warped sense of humor that keeps us at bay or maybe from being admitted into the mental institution. But I cannot wait to hear your story and when you will be cycling with us! Cheers to 2012 with many miracles happening and I'll raise my glass of grapejuice to that. Really trying to be good, but sometimes I do have a Mike's iced blueberry lemonade.

Yay on that fertization report with SEVEN, grow embibabies grow. Definately let dh take care of your little one, I know it will be hard but lots of bedtime reading with your ds and goodnight kisses will make up for it.

Dh told me tonight that if we could preoccupy our minds for a little while with something else maybe it would help the process. I get Beth Riley's emails (she wrote a book on a natural pathway to pregnancy) but anyway she stressed last week in her video that sometimes stress can affect the sperm quality. So even when we are ovulating or trying naturally we should try to keep lovemaking at lovemaking not perceived as lovemaking because it can effect his performance. lol he tells me he knows more about this stuff then he ever wanted to know, and sometimes it feels like a chore then lovemaking. So I've got to work on bringing some romance back into our life...12 years makes it challenging though! I still believe in miracles everyday though and this faith is what keeps us going.

Having a solid plan gets us back on our feet, I can so relate to that tonight too. But we will never give up this fight for it's something that we cannot go a day without thinking about. I cannot wait for our dream to come true in 2012!


AFM: I feel so much better tonight after taking with dh about our next steps...I first told him that maybe we should wait until 2015 when we have everything paid off and 21 grand saved, deep down I know that is only the logical way any frugal person would think, but nope I cannot do it. We talked it over and decided not to spend the money on another IUI but hold off until this summer and cycle with the IVF Attain Program giving us 3 IVFs+ 3 FET cycles (if any make it to FET) but for one set price I think it would give me a little room to relax. In the meantime, I'm considering studing Florida real estate and get licensed. I was in Georgia RE and really enjoyed it, but the market fell out and dh's job relocated us, so with C21 I got to market my own house, find a buyer in 6 weeks and quickly move down here to be with dh. It's taken me some time to get to know the area and still working on that, but there is so much more to learn first especially about the zoning laws, hurricane and flood ins. Maybe if anything this be a good distraction...Sorry I got on a tangent about that, but certainly looking forward to some new changes in 2012 and making it a better year giving it everything we're got.
