Kat, Mamaboo, & Ryann - Love the new pics of your cuties! We definitely have some great looking babies on this thread!

Blair - DH and I felt the same way about Christmas presents for Maribel. We're closing on a house at the end of January and I'm still doing the stay-at-home mom gig, so we're being quite thrifty. But we got her a few toys, books, sleep sacks, and a swimsuit & cover-up for swimming at the pool on base. And for her stocking, she's obsessed with drinking from a cup now (she'd grab at my glass of water and help herself) so we got her some reusable plastic cups and sippy cups for traveling. No sense in breaking the bank when she has no idea what's going on. (And my guess is out of all of her gifts she'll enjoy the cups the most LOL.) :D

Blair... I'm not sure how I missed your other post! The girls look gorgeous in their party dresses! And we didn't do anything big at all for Christmas for the twins. They got some jammies in the next size and some books :)

Merry Christmas to all of you that celebrate!

Amanda - Look at her!!! Such a big girl sitting up to open her gifts!!! LOVE IT! She is too cute!

Question. What's everyone's position on the Santa business? Are you going to tell your kid(s) or not? And, if so, at what age do you let them in on it?

Hope everyone had a very blessed holiday!!! Now, time to ring in the new year!

I will definately allow my kids to believe in Santa. I want them to possess their heritage of fairyland as long as possible. Once it's gone, you cannot get back their innocence. My aunt never told her daughter there was no Santa. Her daughter didn't let on once she found out, and they would pretend there was a Santa well into her teens. Finally, when she was about 16, she decided to stop pretending, and Christmas was never the same after that. Both my cousin and my aunt regretted that they stopped. However, my SIL told her daughter at about age 9, and her daughter was so outraged. She said, "You lied to me?" She couldn't believe her parents told her there was a Santa when there wasn't. I guess it depends on your LO's personality. My older son seems to have my imagination, I think he'll enjoy believing in Santa. My husband and I have always pretended to believe, even before we had kids. Christmas is a big deal in my house. :D

Amanda-how beautiful is she?!?

Stephanie-I'll let my kids believe as long as they will. I believed (like full fledged, thought everyone who didn't believe was crazy) until I was 12 and the UPS man delivered the family computer that Santa was supposed to bring. I cried but then I remember having a new appreciation for the fact that my parents had done that for us all thOse years. Christmas is huge around here, so we definitely want the twins to believe!!

Thanks ladies! And Stephanie, Santa will definitely come to our house for as long as she believes. I remember figuring it out when I noticed Santa & my parents used the same wrapping paper and shopped at the same store. :D I was a bit disappointed but like Ryann said I was glad my parents gave me years of a wonderful fantasy. And my two older kids loved the idea of Santa so we'll be leaving cookies and milk out for the big guy (and a carrot for the reindeer) as long as Maribel wants.

Stephanie- we are definitely going to have santa at our house. When I was younger I remember how exciting it was christmas morning to see what santa had brought us. It wasn't until I was showing off the new bike santa brought me to our neighbor and she said she knew since it had been in her garage for weeks. I know my sister has a 13yo, 10yo, and 5yo and she usually just keeps up the act until the kids find out from other kids at school. I guess everyone has different opinions on the subject but I love having santa with kids and how excited they get.

Sunshine my birthday is Jan 25th please add it to the list.

So great to see everyone's Christmas pics all the babies look beautiful. We are doing well. Paul is 17lb now, 26 1/2 inches and absolutely perfect. His hair has been changing and he is now completely blond with the most beautiful gray eyes. Christmas was amazing. Santa brought our little boy a bouncer/entertainer and he absolutely loves playing in it. I am still breastfeeding but it is starting to get harder to keep up with. I was surprised to get my period last week has this happened to anyone else who is breastfeeding?

as for the whole Santa question....We will absolutely be having the Santa tradition. With our older DS we went all out. We did the letters to Santa and the cookies and carrots before bed on Christmas eve and when he was 5 we drove to North Pole NY to take him to Santa's Village. (It's a theme park exclusively dedicated to Santa with his home, reindeer and everyone dressed like elves) He is 11 now so this year we had to tell him the truth. He was disappointed at first but now is totally excited to help us make magical memories for his baby brother.

As for the whole "contraceptives" talk...I can't wait to start trying again. Now that baby Paul sleeps at night I feel like I could totally try for another. However since I had to have a c section I have to wait until Summer. In February we will be taking a cruise to the Caribbean with our boys :) It will be baby Paul's first cruise. So DH and I are going to start trying as soon as April or May but will start with IUI's in July. I just hope and pray to God that it will not take 3 years this time. Well I hear my little angel calling so I better run. Happy Holidays ladies. I know I don't write often but I read every day.

Sunshine looks like you and I are going to be trying together come summer :)

Ok ladies... I have always been kind of an honorary member of this board after cycling with so many of you, but Monday it almost became official! Little Evelyn almost arrived in 2011.

For those of you who haven't stalked the 2012 board here is the skinny...

I started bleeding Monday at 4 AM. Since I was able to get a strong HB on the home doppler my OB let me stay at home until the office opened. When I went in everything looked perfect on u/s and with cervical check but OB pulled out a nasty big clot. Based on that he recommended a C-section because he thinks placental abruption is threatening.

He gave me a choice in doing the C-section at my home hospital and risking having Evie sent an hour and a half to the closest hospital with a NICU since she was only 35 weeks and 4 days or leaving and going to that hospital prior to delivering and chancing the drive and/or a different opinion from the on call OB there.

Well I of course decided to risk the drive rather than be separated from her in her first days if she did need to go to NICU. By the time I arrived at the hospital (an hour and a half drive) the bleeding had stopped and all was well with the world. Based on that the OB here recommended I stay here for a week for monitoring and that we deliver early next week assuming the lungs appear to be developed from the amnio we will do. He even said its possible we can still attempt a vaginal delivery.

So I am here where hopefully things will remain quiet for the next few days or so and Baby Evelyn will be with me soon.

Oh and the upside to all this is we were FINALLY able to get 4-D pics of our previously camera shy gal Monday. Here she is.

Image

And speaking of photos... I just LOVE all the pics of gorgeous little ones that have been flying around here the last couple of days.

Blair- the girls are just too much in their Christmas garb.

Amanda- Maribel is so stinking sweet.

Ryann- the book pic is absolutely precious. I think you have a couple of geniuses in training on your hands!

Anna- Paul really looks a lot like Daddy. I can see you in him too, but he favors his Dad. You two make one heck of an adorable little man though.

Lou- Chloe's eyes are amazing...and what a great Santa pic.

Kat- hope you are doing well mama! Since you were officially on the list on the other board we did make your announcement there too. :-)

Mama boo, thanks for the link to see precious Denver! He's a cutie!

Kat, Lucas is so sweet! How are you doing with him? Still breast feeding? How's your c section healing?

Ryann, the twins are so cute interacting with their book! What are you doing for child care? Chloe will start day care jan 9th.

Amanda, your little chunker Maribel keeps getting cuter every day!

Alisa, wow, that was a close call! Love the 3d pic. She'll be here soon. Can't wait for pics!

Anna, Paul is such a handsome little guy!

AFM, dH is home for two weeks and it's so nice to have him here. I go back to work Wednesday January 4th. Chloe is starting day care on Mondays and Tuesdays on January 9th. DH is off on Wednesdays, my in-laws are babysitting on Thursdays, and dH is off every other Friday and I will be off every other Friday (unless my boss changes her mind again!) and every weekend. I'm going to miss her so much hen I go back to work! I've started irking out with a personal trainer to get these last 10 lbs off and get back into shape. I am nervous about finding time for everything.
