for those who had ectopic pregnancies and methotrexate

Post by leorira11 »

How soon did your clinic let you cycle (fresh IVF/ICSI) again?

I've been doing a ton of online research. The 'old wives wisedom' is to wait at least 3 months - but the medical papers studying this said there were not a higher number of birth defects among women who only waited 1 month. They do report that with ovarian hyperstimulation - women immediately after methotrexate has a lower number of oocytes retreived - but I'm fine with that.

Should/Could/Can I nudge my doctor to let me do a cycle as soon as my beta gets to zero after methotrexate? What about a month later?

thanks

well - my doctor doesn't want to do methotrexate yet, and I'm not sure why. They wanted me to wait until Wednesday then do more blood work and u/s. I said I couldn't wait until Wednesday - so we agreed on tomorrow.

I just want this to END. Maybe I'd rather take the methotrexate and have to wait to start again, rather than waiting and not knowing. This is killing me.
