LYD - CONGRATULATIONS!!! So excited for you!

I'm in my 2 ww and I'm trying not to obsess this time. Just needed some reassurance. I'm having a lot of cramping. This is normal right? I know it is, being a midwifery student and all, just wanted to hear it from some of you who have BFP's if you had any cramping before your beta?

I'm not going to POAS until Jan 3, which is the day of my beta. I don't want to freak myself out, yet, I want to be prepared for the phone call.

Indigo.
Indigo, I definitely had activity in my uterus uring the 2ww. Cramping, pulling, implantation type stuff. I think it's to be expected. Can't wait for your results! I hope your wait goes by fast.

Nicole - I'm glad you got through Christmas. As hard as it is to deal with in-laws, I keep trying to remind myself that they are mourning too. My MIL cries whenever we talk about my losses - and as hard as that is for me to deal with, I just have to remember that she is having a hard time too. I'm glad you finally told your in-laws. How is your FET progressing? I hope Vegas is AWESOME!

Gina - I've never tried fake nails, I get too annoyed when my own fingernails get too long! :D

Amy (Jayne) - how did the HSG go? Our play is an amateur (but very high level) company that performs a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta every winter and a musical every spring. This year, we are doing one of G&S's most famous shows - HMS Pinafore. A totally ridiculous plot about a common sailor and the captain's daughter who fall in love, even though she is betrothed to marry the admiral. Hilarity ensues as they plan to elope, only to be caught by her father. Eventually, the truth is discovered that the captain and the sailor were switched at birth - meaning that the captain's daughter can marry him and really be marrying 'up'. Very happy ending with lots of dancing :D

Christy
- I'm glad you are feeling confident that one way or another, you guys will be parents. I'm starting to question that for us -- adoption isn't panning out the way we'd hoped and neither is the IVF. What if we never get to bring a baby home? I try not to think about it, but it's a real possibility :( But I'm definitely saving all my baby stuff with the hopes that we'll need it - and soon!

Rosie - look at that ticker go! Almost 10 weeks - woohooo!

Bonnie - I like your ticker too! So exciting to see them move across!

Indigo - no obsessing during the 2ww? Share your secret! :D Jan 3rd is so close! Let us know how it goes!

Lydia - well then this beta is MUCH better than those! My beta this time was a bit lower than usual (but still within normal), but my beta with my miscarriage was right on track - so I'm always worried. Hell - at 20 weeks I'm still worried! Have some pickles, preggo!

Patricia - you practice Reiki? I know some people who do. Cool. I hope your hip feels better and you can get an appt with the osteo asap!

AFM - well, I couldn't wait until Sunday -- I decided to get another beta done today. Damn. The number went up again. After dropping from 291 to 279 from Sunday to Monday, I was hoping this would be a downward swing.... alas not. Back up to 382. Damn.

I'm thinking of calling my clinic to tell them. I wasn't scheduled to do a beta today, so I don't want them to get pissed. I'm going back in on Sunday. I wonder what they'll tell me.

I just want this to END.

I spoke to the nurse. She said that I'll have to come to talk to the doctor and do bw/us on Sunday. She said it's important to wait and see what develops, if anything. I don't understand why. I've been doing research (I know, Dr. Google is always a bad idea, but I know how to find medical journals and studies - and understand them). The 3 ways to approach ectopic is (1) surgery (which I don't need and isn't indicated at all by my case!) (2) methotrexate and (3) "expectant management" (ie, wait & see).

When I was first diagnosed, I definitely fell into the "expectant management" category --- no pain, no bleeding, no threatening rupture and levels below 1000miu. But most studies say that once levels start rising, 'active management' (ie, methotrexate or surgery) is indicated.

I'm so confused. I wish I could trust my doctor, but experience has taught me not too...

Leora: im sorry to hear your beta is still rising. How long do your clinic want to wait until they decide on a course of action. I didnt know too much about ectopic butbive done some research since yours and I know that doesn't replace medical training but everything I've read suggests it should be treated quickly. Yes I practice reiki and i seem to be better at distance healing than hands on so if you would ever like me to do some for you let me know

Good mornig ladies,
I am so sorry that I haven't posted in about a week. As some of you may recall, DS wantes to visit all of the Disney Parks over winter break an so here we are. We have been in Orlando since Christmas night. With the resent passing of my son's father in November, we decided not to really do much for Christmas day but decided to ask my son what he wantes to do and Disney was it. I have to say, it has been a welcome distraction. We have all had a really nice time.

I have alot of catching up to do which I will do when we get back home. That won't be until tonight. I am scheduled for transfer tomorrow morning at 9:45am. And then wait and see. Not too anxious about this, just kind of going with the motions. I guess that's ok and expected.

I want to welcome any of the new members. I think I breifly saw that someone new joined. Congrats to those that are PUPO. Hang in there during the 2ww. I know it can be torturous wait. Congrats to those who have recently gotten their BFP's. Leora, I read about your continued troubles and I am so sorry. I know that you are ready to move on from this and I can't believe your RE want to continue waiting. I pray tat this is resolved soon. For those that have received bad news recently, I am so sorry. Give yourselves rime to greive but never give up.

Leora- Gosh!! I'm so sorry you are dealing with all of that! I agree with Ninde something should be done, I thought with ectopics you should treat it quickly. Never had one but a close friend did and had surgery right away.

I really enjoyed your pictures! It looks wonderful and I agree about the costumes, they are beautiful and looks like a lot of thought with into them.

Maria- I'm glad y'all are enjoying yourselves! I'm ready for a trip to FL to Disney! Last time we went DS was around 3 and it was his first time and my DH's first. Some day I want to go for Christmas! Good luck on your Transfer tomorrow!! My thoughts and prayers will be with you!

AFM- DH had some potentially good news! Not getting my hopes up at all! He MAY be able to get TDY. It's a travel pay basically. His MSG said he would push for us to get this which could mean free plan tickets/hotel etc...which would help A TON! There are different amounts, depending on what it's being used for so no set amount. If they don't do that for us, it's okay but it will be nice even if it pays for a hotel for 21 days!

Gina-that sounds awesome! I hope it comes for you guys!

Lyd-how are you holding up? are you still taking the vicodin? I am suprised they have you taking that....they will barely let me take tylenol. Isnt your follow up beta tomorrow?

We- I am glad to see you guys having fun. I took my boys to disney back when they were little...I swore I wouldnt take little kids there, only big kids. My dh has never been so maybe one of these days I will take him there. Good luck tomorrow!
Bonnie- how is it going?

Afm- next wednesday cant come soon enough. What if something happened between the last beta amd now? I havent had Amy spotting, bleesing, nothing. My boobs are still sore, and I get nauseous when I am full, but....i hate it when doubt sets in. hopefully I can keep myself busy and not think about it. We are planning to just chill at home for new years eve. My 17 year old may have a few friends over, so I cant say it will be a quiet evening, but hopefully they wont get obnoxious. What is everyone else planning to do? And, do you eat black eyed peas and stuff on new years day? And wear red underware on new years eve for good luck?

Leora, I am so sorry your doc still doesn't have a plan for you. Hopefully this Sunday he will decide what he wants to do- prob give the meth shot and get it over with.

WE - your trip to Disneyland looks just what the doctor ordered for your family. Take a break! You all look very happy in the picture. Can't believe your transfer is so soon already! Good luck!!

AFM, nothing much. Still carrying around my 10lb of water. Hard to walk so I a am Taking it easy. Grandparents have been coming over to play with DS. Which is nice. Allowed me to relax a bit. Tomorrow, Friday, I go in for beta 2.

I have a question :) I've learned a lot about IVF and the medications etc.. but one thing I haven't read about much or at all...is about the 3, 5 day transfers and all. I'm assuming the more days that pass the more progress you will see or hope to see?

The clinic we will use at my age transfer one mostly. It's up to us in this decision also. We would like to do at least two, giving us a better chance and we would love twins if that happened. However their website also says if they do two then it will be a 3 day transfer. Why is this?

Ninde-thank you. At this point, I'm just praying for God to do whatever is best. For many reasons, I need to remain grounded and remind myself of all of the blessing I have in my life. Whatever will happen tomorrow will happen, but I have sobmuvh to be thankful for. Sometimes, I forget that. So, this is in his hands. I know it is completely out of my control. How are you feeling? I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well and a bit sad. Please remember that I am here for you. I'm also sad to hear about your friend. Better now then later, but those things are never easy.
